- So Pam obviously looked different in season four. She's not wearing her typical receptionist clothes anymore, her hair isn't curly and tied up anymore, and she seems to be using more makeup. I wasn't a big fan of this change at all and it made things feel kind of different in season four. Anyone else feel the same and want the Old Pam back? You must be registered and logged in to post a message.
- Yes and no. If you had asked this in S4, I probably would have said no. But since I rewatched S1-3 recently... its leaning towards a half yes.
Probably because mostly, during S4, I couldn't go a day without hearing "Where's old Pam?" yeah, thats influenced my decision. I like Pam being this fancy new, because, it sort of shows growth. She has something to live for, something to be fancy for. And that's Jim. She isn't just, waking up to the same old drudgery. She's putting effort into her life, she wants to look great. However, um, did she replace her entire wardrobe? I've done the fancy route sometimes, but, I never have replaced my entire wardrobe. So, you're telling me, she went out and bought whole new clothes just because of Jim? Nah, don't believe it. And, Jim fell in love with her as the 'mousy receptionist'. I am sure he loves her still now, but halfway in my heart of hearts, I believe that he wouldn't mind if she went backwards.
I love them showing a very physical change of Pam being with Jim. It is like, proof, Pam is happier, looks happier, with Jim than with Roy. But sometimes it feels a bit unrealistic, and yes, sometimes I do miss simple Pam of earlier seasons. You must be registered and logged in to post a message. I like the old Pam, but the new Pam shows character growth. She's entered a new chapter in her life. I think season 5 will focus on even more Pam changes. New or old, she's still great. Allthough I like new Pam better, she seems happier.

She stand up for herself more, voices her opinions more, is comfortable with herself and is overall a lot happier with her life because of Jim and becaus she is really starting to do things she wants out of life like this art school thing. Old Pam was great but I like the new Pam who seems to be more secure and happy with herself. You must be registered and logged in to post a message.

- I like both--I think I like old Pam mainly because of the nostalgia it brings me of the Seasons 1 and 2 but I also love new Pam because it shows how much she's changed over the years. You must be registered and logged in to post a message.

I liked the "old Pam" but I think it would be unfair to say I miss her because she's shown so much character development and growth, she's really changed. and she's HAPPY. That's the most important thing.

Can you imagine how boring the show would be if there were no character alterations in 4 seasons?. Actually, the show would not have made it that long.

But it did fit, she was now with Jim and happier then she had ever been. She was in a new phase in her life, it makes sense that her apperance would change. People talk as though she went through a drstic makeover. She just started wearing her down and getting a little dressier with her shirts instead of just blouses and sweaters. It wasn't really all that different. You must be registered and logged in to post a message.SMGslayer97 wrote: pamhalpert wrote: They changed Jenna's appearance in S4 for the same reason you rearrange the furniture in your house from time to time...To keep her fresh and evolving. Agreed. I think a part of her "Old Pam" problem was being with Roy and not being able to be herself the way she wanted, but being the "New Pam" its like she is starting over, with a new life and Jim.You must be registered and logged in to post a message.- I want to see more of the new Pam (not what you're thinking!
) before I can answer this one. The season was too short to make a fair judgment. But I do miss the chemistry between Pam and Jim when they were not yet together, but I guess that's a different matter. You must be registered and logged in to post a message. mackymacaspac wrote: I want to see more of the new Pam (not what you're thinking!

You miss the chemistry Jim and Pam had when they weren't together as opposed to the ever cuter chemistry they have now that they are together? I'm dizzy.
