- When Michael is about to leave to go bring Dwight back to the office, Andy invites Michael to watch a Cornell-Hofstra football game with him that weekend, even though college football ends its regular season before New Year's. edit »
- NBC Entertainment President Kevin Reilly had a brief cameo appearance. He played Dwight's first interviewer. Reilly was a strong supporter of The Office during its first season despite low ratings. edit »
- Music: "Zombie" by The Cranberries, sung by Andy Bernard edit »
- Angela: Oscar? I have a question. Would you like to join the party planning committee?
Oscar: The committee with all the women?
Angela: Yeah.
Oscar: Because I'm gay?
Angela: No. No. (Kevin laughs) Certain events have transpired. And I've thought about certain things. And I'm sorry for the way those certain events transpired. (starts to cry) And I would just like to make some changes about certain things and certain situations.
Oscar: OK, OK, OK, all right, all right. I'll join. I'd love to. That's—thank you.
Angela: Thank you.
Kevin: Can I join, too?
Angela: Never. edit » - Oscar: Hey, where's Dwight?
Creed: You didn't hear? Decapitated. Whole big thing. We had a funeral for a bird.
Jim: I'm pretty sure none of that's real.
Creed: You're not real, man! edit » - (After Michael and Dwight arrive to the office party)
Michael: Not bad, huh?
Dwight: You did this for me?
("Welcome back, Oscar" can be read behind them)
Michael: Guilty. edit » - Andy: You, me, bar, beers, buzzed. Wings, shots, drunk. Waitresses, hot. Football, Cornell/Hofstra, slaughter. Then quick nap at my place, and we hit the tizzown.
Michael: No, I don't want to do any of that.
Andy: Duh, which is why I was joking about doing it.
Michael: Would you stop, stop, just stop doing it? You're going to drive me crazy.
Andy: Fine, I'll just go sit at my desk and be quiet. Sorry I annoyed you with my friendship. edit » - Oscar: Why don’t you have me riding in on a donkey, into the office, like Pepe?
Michael: Ah, a burro, of course. If Oscar wants a donkey, let’s get him one. edit »
- When Michael goes to Staples to invite Dwight back to Dunder Mifflin, the whole scene is reminiscent of the final scene in An Officer and a Gentleman when Richard Gere goes back to the factory to pick up Debra Winger. Even the music playing in the background is the Muzak version of "Up Where We Belong" which was playing in the background of the same scene of the movie. edit »
- Andy and the Tuna
Andy sings his song about working with Jim to the tune of "Benny and the Jets", a hugely popular 1973 song by Bernie Taupin and Elton John. edit » - The great sportscaster that bit something that Michael Scott is referring to is Marv Albert, the former voice of the New York Knicks and the NBA on NBC. He is the current voice of the New Jersey Nets. Albert became the focus of a media frenzy in 1997, when he went on trial for felony charges of forcible sodomy, which involved the alleged repeated biting of a female sex partner. edit »
