- Pearson: What was all that, Lindsay?
Lindsay: The beginning, professor.
Pearson: Do you know what you're in for?
Lindsay: I think so. Do you? edit » - Bobby: Still, if we can get that judge off this case.
Linday: What are you thinking?
Bobby: I'm thinking, that if that judge slept with a woman in Pearson's firm, that is a card. And it's not beneath me to play it. edit » - Rebecca: Bobby, you want to keep this place in operation, that's fine. But you better think real hard about exactly what it is you're trying to keep going. edit »
- When addressing the Jury in his final submission, Attorney Leonard Goode refers to Ronald Martin not appreciating the "nature and qulaity of his act". This phrase was orginally coined in the English case of R .v. Daniel McNaughton (1843) in which the defence of Insanity was first established. Since this time the defence, known as the the M'Naghton Rules, has remained unchanged in the UK and has since been adopted by other states including America. To plead insanity the Defendant must suffer from a defect of reason caused by a disease of the mind which means he does not appreciate the nature and quality of his act. edit »
