Cartoon, Adult
Moe is invited to be a guest judge on American Idol. Meanwhile, with Moe off pursuing a new career Homer no longer has a hangout after work and spends more time at home driving Marge crazy.
Originally created by cartoonist Matt Groening, "Our Favorite Family," has graced the small screen in one form or another for over 20 years. The Simpson family first appeared on television as the subjects of interstitial "shorts" on The Tracey Ullman Show in April of 1987. The Simpsons remained a… More staple on The Tracey Ullman Show for three seasons until they premiered in their own half-hour series, on December 17, 1989. With the help of Jim Brooks and Sam Simon, Matt Groening's cartoon family turned into an instant success. Set in Springfield, the average American town, the show focuses on the antics and everyday adventures of the Simpson family; Homer, Marge, Bart, Lisa and Maggie, as well as a virtual cast of thousands. Since the beginning, the series has been a pop culture icon, attracting hundreds of celebrities to guest star. The show has also made name for itself in its fearless satirical take on politics, media and American life in general. Currently in its 21st season, The Simpsons has piled up over 440 episodes, over 20 Emmy Awards, a handful of music albums, countless endorsements and merchandise, and even made the jump to the silver screen in the summer of 2007 with The Simpsons Movie . And according to Matt Groening, "There is no end in sight."

I was just wondering who still likes and watches this show. The reason I ask is because I've seen and heard a lot of people not liking The Simpsons anymore. I do admit newer episodes aren't AS good as the older ones but it's still going strong I think. Please tell me if you like or dislike it The… More Simpsons.
This is the point where the show was at a crossroads both stylistically andcreatively. The management behind the show went througha fairly significant overhaul around thisperiod. This is also the only season that has episodes from basicallyfour different showrunning teams (totalling 6 showrunners… More altogether). All of these things clashing, coupled with inklings of a show on a verge of decline, understandably make season 9 a patchy year with some classics and the first total duds. I want to hear your thoughts on season 9. Personally I don't think any season after season 9 comes close to its quality. It's much more inconsistent than the previous seasons, but it's worthwhile entertainment most of the time. I would classify the episodes like such... Good The City of New York vs. Homer Simpson The Principal and the Pauper Lisa's Sax Treehouse of Horror VIII The Cartridge Family Lisa the Skeptic Miracle on Evergreen Terrace The Joy of Sect Lisa the Simpson This Little Wiggy Simpson Tide Lost Our Lisa Natural Born Kissers Okay Bart Star The Two Mrs. Nahasapeemapetilons Realty Bites Das Bus Dumbbell Indemnity The Trouble With Trillions Girly Edition King of the Hill Mediocre/Bad All Singing, All Dancing The Last Temptation of Krust Bart Carny Trash of the Titans
This is one of my favorite shows of all time. I've been watching it since I was 5.
The show is about life in a suburban town called Springfield, but we never find out what state it's in. There is a huge, and I mean huge cast of characters. There is also great animation, and great writing. If you're just started to watch this show, here are some episodes I'd reccemend: Marge vs. The Monorial, Lisa's First Word, Last Exit to Springfield, Cape Feare, You only Move Twice, The Springfield Files, Lisas's Sax, Bart the Mother, Trilogy of Error, Behind the Laughter, Eternal Moonshine of The Simpson mind, and The Squirt and The Whale. Yeah, that's a lot of episodes, but this is a great show!!!!
Overall, this a very good show. The quality in episodes has gone done lately, but there are a few good episodes in every season.
It doesn't come much better than sitting down after a hard day at work and flicking on your TV to watch these crazy yellow 4 fingered characters! The Simpsons is simply, pure genius. From Homers drunken escapades to Marge's exasperated groan every second spent watching this show is a second well spent. I have literally grown up with the Simpsons and the things that made me laugh about it over 15 years ago still make me laugh today! To think this show has been running for over 20 years is phenomenal as it still has the same whit and lovability has it did in season one.
The best cartoon ever! hide show
This is probably the best cartoon of all time! Even after 20 years, it's still kinda funny. But I think it was really good during the middle seasons. The new ones aren't as funny as the used to be though, but some of the older ones were funny as hell! Especially the Homer vs. 18th Amedment. That was when they still had some funny material and there were alot where there was never a dull moment and I think that this show is a classic. Maybe not any of the newer seasons but definately some of the older ones. I love the Simpsons! :)
It was the best cartoon by cusumer's choice,WAS! hide show
This show was the bomb the first 10 years of it's triumpent debut, though I may be the only one,It's not my favorite cartoon. It had alot of competators, most notable "Family Guy",gaining on it,then they finally violated it in an ally,& took the talent right out of it,or is it saving material for the less popular "Futurama".The new animation may look good, but it's very bland, the voice quality may be inproved, but quite the opposite that's to be said for the voice acting,& the new humor.......((sigh)),it's pitiful, the jokes have poor presentation, aren't we watching a cartoon or a bad sitcom,oh wait! That seems to be where it downgraded to be now!If you want to start watching "The Simpsons",I'd prefer you watch the old episodes. You may be asking why a 7.5 out of 10,well,sir/ma'am,the old episodes were just that good, the new ones may had splang it down a quarter as you see!
A really important show to me. It may be getting "old" and "stale", but you should really still add this to your favorites collection. hide show
The Simpsons is set up about a dysfunctional family in the fictional town of Spring Field. This show has influenced a lot of shows and even created the era for adult animation (animated shows TV-PG to TV-MA). The Simpsons is better than the following shows:
Family Guy
American Dad!
The Cleveland Show (sucks!!!!)
Robot Chicken
Moral Orel
King of The Hill
But is equally as good as Futurama, Beavis & Butthead and South Park. I know a lot of fans of The Simpsons fans and only a few who don't like it. The Simpsons has brought you cultural references, innuendos, occasional cutaway gags(but not as much as Family Guy which over does them), and is the first animated show to use bad language and sexual content. My favorite characters are Homer, Krusty, Apu, Moe and the Jewish old man. I wish Adult Swim or CW11 will show some reruns of this show too, but NO, they are too busy wasting their time showing that once funny Family Guy. The Simpsons is the influence of Family Guy dangit!!!
Grade: 100%
You should add this to your favorites collection.
