"Her Pilgrim Soul" was later used as a basis for part of a stage musical, "Weird Romance," sub-titled "Two One Act Musicals of Speculative Fiction", music by Alan Menken, book by Alan Brennert himself, lyrics and additional book by David Spencer. The first act is based on "The Girl Who was Plugged In," by James Tiptree, Jr. (pseudonym for Alice Sheldon); the second is was based on "Her Pilgrim Soul." Although each individual act retained its discrete story title, the musical itself has only been produced as "Weird Romance." edit »
