Hey Whoopi,

Do some research before you put your mouth in gear. I agree, there is cockfighting in Puerto Rico (I am a Puerto Rican), but that does not make it okay. Legal cockfighting here in our great United States of America is legal in New Mexico and Louisiana.

It also takes place in France, Mexico, Belgium, Spain. Haiti, Italy and Malyasia, so why single out Puerto Rico?

Hilter disliked animals. He killed many Jews. Is it safe to say that all people who dislike animals are going to kill Jews?

I never liked cockfighting, dog fighting or fighting of any kind. I grew up in Spanish Harlem. Since my surroundings condoned cockfighting, does that mean I should like it and be engaged in such games? A person's surroundings is no excuse for the iniquities that that person engages in. Drugs were all around me in college. I chose not to be involved in that scene. Gang members in my neighborhood asked me to join their gang. I did not. Got beat up a few times, but also won some on my own. People with a lot of money to throw around think that they are above the law. Look at Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Patty Hearst and many of the Kennedy clan. They got away with many crimes that if they had been committed by me, I'd be in jail for a few years.

Also, many Africans are/were into cannibalism in their native tribes. Is it okay to say that African-Americans can go around and kill anyone they wish and put himon a skewer just becausse their families did it and some of these present day Africans still have it in their blood to crave human meat.

Michael Vicks is guilty for many more crimes then he has been charged with; only thing is that he got paid for it. Ask him if he ever threw a game. He admitted to having taken part in slaying dogs. Where in the South was he taught that? In his bio it states: "Vick's father began teaching him the fundamentals of football when he was just three years old." It doesn't state that his father started teaching him the fundamentals of dogfighting.

Do you defend him becausse he is an athlete would brings great pride to the African -American people. Willie mays and Jackie Robinson were Black men who made a great impact on American sports. Roberto Clemente and many other Puerto Ricans are famous ball players.

I do not defend people because of their nationality. If a Puerto Rican is guilty, he's guilty. Guilty is guilty no matter what. It seems that someone has invented a new dictionary. One for the regular everyday citizen and one for the people who have a lot of money. There is not a separate dictionary for every nationality. Here I am talking about definitions of words not languages.

Aisha Tyler would make a much better replacement for Rosie O'Donnell (sorry Sherri Shepard, I think you are great too). If it is that a black woman is replacing Rosie for ethnicity purposes, Aisha would bring charm, charisma, beauty and logic to the show.

You stated your point extremely well. I did not see Whoopi's first day but I did hear and read about it. As a proud african american woman I did not appreciate the fact that she practically stereotyped and rationalized Vick's horrific actions. I am an animal lover but even if you are not what Vick did is unforgivable. Just because it is done in certain cultures does not make it right. Besides going to jail, he has destroyed his career, lost endorsements and all for what? He was not hurting for money. I would love to ask him Was it worth it? Also I want to add, people hunt for the so called sport of it, hunting needs to be outlawed as well

I like how the person above me decided to stereotype people as well. Not all people who hunt do it for sport. My family has always hunted and we have always used the meat as food. We do not waste, also most of the liscensing of hunting goes towards conservation. get your facts straight before you gereralize something you dont know everything about.

I like whoopi, she doesn't think that she is up in a pedestal like Rosie thinks of herself. Everybody is entitled to their opinion. After all this is what the show is all about…….entertainment. get off it.

"and some of these present day Africans still have it in their blood to crave human meat."

Get a grip! That is offensive and racist.Every single human being on this planet will have canabalism in their ethnic history(Regardless of colour or ethnicity).Including my own pakeha ancestors. OK, so you didn't like Whoopi singling out your country. Maybe she did it because of time constraints affecting her ability to make her point.

In comparison to Sherri's understandings (she believes the earth is flat), Whoopi is a philosopher.
