Another rarity from this episode is that the Virginian and Judge Garth are at odds with each other and not on speaking terms. But after the Virginian and his friends catch up to Garth's kidnappers and they call out to each other, we see a close bond between the two like a father and son relationship. (edit) This is a rare episode in that all the regulars appear and, excepting Betsy Garth, in generally more than simple cameos. The episode also features first season regular Pippa Scott as newspaper editor Molly Wood, Brendan Dillon as Mr. Bemis who works at the newspaper, Jan Stine as Shiloh hand Eddie (also listed as Eddy in some episode credits) and Ross Elliott, who would appear in many episodes as Sheriff Abbott, appears here as the Sheriff but is named Burford.
