- Goof: When the President and the President-Elect are on their way to the inauguration the sort of limousine they travel in, changes between the scenes. edit »
- Goof: If you pause the scene that shows a close-up of Toby's pardon, you can see that it is missing a few words at the end. I guess they figured people wouldn't look so closely! edit »
- Goof: In the final scene, after CJ has spoken with the man with the little girl, the camera cranes up from the street to show the White House in all its glory.
Just as the street is going out of view, an extra waves at the camera.
edit » - When President Bartlet made his first appearance on screen he was walking with a cane, kinda fitting that when he left office he was also walking with a cane. edit »
- This final episode contains a goof. In the first scene, the characters wonder why the framers of the Constitution chose January 20th as Inaguaration Day so that the ceremony could be held in the middle of the winter. In fact, Inaugration Day was March 4 until the 20th Amendment to the Constitution changed the date to January 20. Franklin D. Roosevelt was the first president to be inaugarated on January 20. Certainly presidential staffers, who typically carry a copy of the Constitution in their pocket, would know this! edit »
- Music: - "America The Beautiful" by Keb' Mo'
- "Dark Blue" by Jack's Mannequin
- "Hallelujah" by Jeff Buckley
- "I Want to go Home" by Charles Brown
- "The Angel Song - Performance track" by Jaci Velasquez edit »
- Margaret: ...and they've asked that we vacate our parking spots by 2pm.
C.J.: Not a problem I walked today.
Margaret: Really?
C.J.: Yes, I often walk.
Margaret: You do?
C.J.: Sometimes I walk. I'm going to walk a lot when I get back to California.
Margaret: Los Angeles being a pedestrian nirvana edit » - (Just after the inauguration, new people is moving to the West Wing and the old ones are leaving.)
Charlie: What about see a movie?
Will: It’s two o’clock in the afternoon.
Charlie: You got anything better to do?
Kate: No, I guess, we don’t.
Will: Is there a movie theater around here?
Charlie: I have no idea. edit » - Debbie: Good morning Mr. President.
Bartlet: Morning.
Debbie: How are you feeling this morning?
Bartlet: Unemployed.
Debbie: A lot of that going around the building. edit » - Last lines of the series:
Mrs. Abbey Bartlet:What are you thinking about?
President Bartlet: Tomorrow. edit »
- (President Bartlet as he says goodbye to many of the West Wing staff)
Bartlet: Nancy how's your mother doing?
Nancy: She's fine now, Mr. President.
Bartlet: Tell her I'm looking forward to seeing her again, would you please?
Nancy: Absolutely, sir.
Since the West Wing premiered, the role of the aide, Nancy, has been played by Martin Sheen's real life daughter, Renee Estevez. edit »
