Write a Recap »Two storylines. The first is a new character who is allowed to join the team as a sports writer. The second story deals with Jackson taking money to ensure the team wins its games. The sports writer finds out about Jackson and threatens to expose him. hide show
An excellent episode dealing with a topical problem. Sports betting and players associated with bookies. The episode sets up the situation very well. Jackson lets himself become entangled with a bookie and feels compelled to throw a game. Its not until the end of the episode that Jackson states he did not throw the game and asks the coach to beleive him. Coach Reeves comes to Jackson's defense when a writer for the school paper is threatening to expose Jackson's gambling. The underlying theme of the episode is the decisions that some people make early in life can affect them for many years to come. Jackson states at the end of the episode that he, like all viewers should, learned his lesson.
