- When Mulder first sees Samantha's file the name tag is faded and semi-hard to read the date 20:55, but when he goes to peal it off it appears to be a new tag, very easy to read 21:00. edit »
- Mulder and Scully get to the abandoned mine. When they drive in there is no one there. Yet when they enter the building, there is a hole in the wall. Through that hole there are two people visible, sitting on a ledge, a lady in black pants, and a person in blue, obvious production crew. edit »
- At 20:21 Scully looks at the tissue sample container in her file, said that was a recent sample, as the new ones were plastic. Yet, when they looked at Samantha's file they didn't even notice that her's had the newer sample container. edit »
- The opening titles for this episode is a different edited version and this is its only occurrence in the first three seasons. The swirly face man and "paranormal activities" have been deleted and David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson's credits have been moved up in the sequence. edit »
- When Mulder is with Scully at the mine, he says he's punching in "27828" at the one of the locked doors. This number is supposed to be Napier's Constant, however, Mulder recited it incorrectly. Napier's Constant actually begins with 2.71828... edit »
- The little gray aliens that run past Scully in the mine were played by eight and nine-year-old children. edit »
- The crew was unable to use a real white buffalo calf. Instead they opted to shoot a very light-colored calf and bleached it in postproduction. edit »
- Dedication: "In Memoriam. Mario Mark Kennedy, 1966-1995" Kennedy was a major fan of the show who organised many on-line sessions on the Internet. He died in a car accident shortly before the 3rd season premiered. edit »
- Walter Gotell is no stranger to clandestine work, having played General Gogol, head of the KGB, in half a dozen James Bond movies. edit »
- Byers: ... Victor Klemper certainly takes the prize for the most evil Nazi to escape the Nuremberg trials.
Scully: What did he do?
Langly: Experimented on the Jews. Drowned them, suffocated them, put them in pressure champers. All in the name of 'science'. edit » - Cigarette Smoking Man: There was a mistake. It will be rectified.
Older Man: By whom?! By whom will this be rectified? Your ridiculously ineffectual assassins?
Cigarette Smoking Man: These men are professionals.
Older Man: This is not a profession for men who make mistakes. My God, you expect us to believe you can fix any problem with enough bullets? edit » - Cigarette Smoking Man: You wanna work a deal? Is that what this is? Let me tell you something, I don't work deals.
Skinner:I just thought you should know of certain potentialities.
Cigarette Smoking Man: Do you have the tape?
Skinner: As I said, I may have located it.
Cigarette Smoking Man: Do you have the damn tape!!?! edit » - (Phone conversation)
Cigarette Smoking Man: Hello?
Krycek: I'm alive... Is that not a surprise?
Cigarette Smoking Man: Yes, good, good, good. Uh, where are you?
Krycek: I'm somewhere where you'll never find me, you double-crossing son of a bitch.
Cigarette Smoking Man: Are you sure?
Krycek: I'm sure of this. If I so much as feel your presence, I'm going to make you a very, very famous man. You understand?
Cigarette Smoking Man: Yes, thank you. I'm going to report that to the group, now. edit » - Skinner: Drop your weapon! Put it down, Scully!
Scully: No way.
Skinner: I said put it down!
Scully: I said no! You're setting me up!
Skinner: I'm trying to help you.
Scully: Then put your weapon down and sit down.
Skinner: Not a chance.
Scully: You said you weren't here to kill me, Skinner, now prove it.
Skinner: I didn't come here to have a gun shoved in my face either.
Scully: Damn it, Skinner!
(Mulder kicks down the door to his own apartment and aims his gun at Skinner.)
Mulder: Drop your weapon! I said...Back off... I said put it down!
Skinner: What the hell is this? What are you pulling here? edit »
