Tom enjoyed acting in high school plays, but to do something more practical with his life, he enrolled in communications at Syracuse University in 1988. In his second year however, he realized how much he missed acting, and subsequently switched his major to drama. Once he graduated, he moved to New York City. There, he waited tables, and eventually founded a theater company. He got his big break in "That Thing You Do." Raised in East Bridgewater, MA, Tom was the third of four children. Tom is a very underrated actor who hasn't had much success, despite the Tom Hanks likeness. Among other things, and hopefully that he will get a better gig as he has had some failed tv shows. Along the way and that he will get that right vehicle for him to come along. Like George Clooney before him, he struggled before ER came his way. Now hopefully, Tom will get the best show that will be good under his belt. But we shall see good things from him. He was cast against type as the NY crooked Governor in the Law & Order show. Proves that he can act!
