Defend It!! Mad Men Edition

*NSFW, contains explicit language and will probably offend*

Mad Men Fans - Defend Your Show

So I noticed there is a lot of good shows on TV right now - Person of Interest, The Good Wife, Boardwalk Empire to name a few - and it surprises me that these quality shows garner very little buzz or awards.

And then I got to thinking.

WHAT THE FUCK? HOW DID THE WIRE NOT WIN AWARDS WHEN A PIECE OF DULL, DOGSHIT LIKE MAD MEN DOES?

Frankly, it befuddles me. I don't see the appeal.

Mad Men is the Kim Kardashian of TV shows - pretty, with nice boobs but otherwise boring.

For all the people swooning over how stylish this show is, let me just say one thing - the 60's had ugly fucking clothes and shitty fabrics! How much polyester, acrylic and rayon clothing do you own.....none.....and the reason for this....ITS ...Read more

Which New May Shows Will You Keep Watching and Why?
It's time once again for the "4 Episode Test" for most of the new April/May shows. We've had some varied and interesting new shows these last couple of months but which ones have engaged your enthusiasm or solicited your scorn? Share your thoughts in the comments.

I just want to point out, after some questions during my last collection of tests, that these shows aired their fourth episode during May and that I can't give a show a "4 Episode Test" until four episodes have aired. (Note: Some shows just plain suck so I give up early, Penny Dreadful was technically in June but I watched it on Monday so I included it here and I'm still behind on Turn so I've not included it, sorry.)

Another 20 TV Questions (part 7)
Well hello, heeeeere’s Rolamb, your favourite anchor for the questions you would rather not know or answer. Maybe you’ve already answered the 120 we had before, but there’s more behind the door where I’m knocking on with that axe. Just open it, see what happens and play the game. Be sure to be stocked before starting to answer, so you might want to visit a food shop in your neighbourhood and get some nacho cheese and tortilla chips to be able to get through the night.

When answering the questions, be sure to leave your honest, funny, angry and silly answers but especially your name so we know where to find you in case we need to. Be advised that the writer of this post is not responsible for any physical or emotional harm, embarrassment, harassment, sadness, insecurity or anything else you might encounter while reading ...Read more

What Are Your Best Show Memorabilia?
In the darkest moments of our lives we have to say goodbye to those TV shows we have come to love. To use a few of the lines Monty Python used in their famous ‘Dead Parrot’ scene: 'it’s passed on! It is no more! It has ceased to be! 'It’s expired and gone to meet its maker! 'It’s a stiff! Bereft of life, rests in peace! It’s kicked the bucket and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! IT IS AN EX-SERIES!!

As tragic as these moments can be, we have a few options to remember those series on a regular basis. Next to watching them over and over again on DVD, we just might be in the possession of objects that relate to these shows. We have several names for them: souvenir, gadget, memento, memorabilia or keepsake and they may be merchandise, gifts or even props from ...Read more

Marry, Screw, Kill!
The name says it all. I used to play this game with my friends back in high school and I though it would be fun to do it regarding characters from our favorite shows. What you do is you name three characters from a show, say which ones you'd screw, kill, or marry(try to make it challenging) and others will comment on their pick among the three. I'll start it off with:

The Vampire Diaries:
- Damon (kill,kill,kill)
- Stefan (Marry)
- Klaus (Screw!)

Supernatural:
- Dean (Marry in a heartbeat)
- Sam (Kill :( )
- Castiel (Screw, if its not sacrilegious)

New Year's Resolutions for TV Watching
Let's give a cooperative post a shot. With the huge number of super knowledge TV fans on TV.com, I thought it would be fun to put together a complete list of New Year's resolutions for TV viewing in 2014.

I'll add a few for your consideration. If you have any resolutions to add, write them up in the comments and we'll create a master post later.

1. Explore New Channels

By now you've certainly expanded your TV horizons beyond the broadcast channels to include AMC, FX, HBO or Showtime. This year, however, the rest of the cable lineup made their presence known to more viewers. A&E brought you Bates Motel. BBC America brought you Orphan Black. Sundance Channel brought you Top of the Lake, Rectify, and The Returned. Even Cinemax brought you Banshee.

Don't rule out a show based on the network ...Read more
