Episode Summary

Four teenagers mutilate horses but one of them backs out. The OSC intervenes because they think that whomever attacked the horses will eventually kill people. They think it's James Stoker a man who tortured animals for fun but hasn't been caught for killing people. A ticket is found at the site of three mutilated homeless men. Cyril had seen the killing of the men and he had called Creegan. The kids now think their big shots and they're high on K(animal sleeping pills) then three of them turn on the one who backed out. They chase him but don't get him however Creegan and Branca do and he finally gives up his friends. Two them also confess but the third, Jack, has something to show the detectives. During all this time they had been looking for Stoker and when they searched his house bomb blew and a cop was killed. Jack shows them where he left Stoker and he tells them he planted the bomb.

  • At the animal clinic David picks up a cat and repeats the same line he spoke in the pilot just before getting shot in the head. "Hello, gorgeous." []
  • Creegan: It’s kinda like a real family…
Holly: It is a real family, David.
Creegan: (After a moment's pause) The old me loved you, I know that, and I look at you and I know I once loved you, I know it. I just… I can’t see it anymore.
Holly: And what about them, what do you see when you look at the girls?
Creegan: (He smiles genuinely, like a man without a care in the world) Two beautiful children with their mother’s hair and my eyes… (David swallows, falters looking lost, like a musician that has missed the beat) I know I once loved them.. (but for all the effort, the pulse is lost... wriggled out of his grasp like a wet fish. Like smoke between his fingertips) I did. I do love them. I do. I know it. I know it. I just can't… []
  • Vince: My- my dad's gone.
Creegan: I'm sorry. Do you miss him?
    Vince: Not really.
Creegan: You know, me neither. I miss the idea of him. But I can't...I can't remember that feeling anymore.
Vince: Did he die when you were young?
Creegan: No, he's still living. He's- he's still the man that's my father, but I'm not the son he used to know. []
  • Creegan: You awake?
Cyril: Heh. Boy, is that a loaded question. []
