A new functionality for adding hidden spoilers is now available on the forums! You can add spoilers (without getting in trouble) while giving users the option to read them or not. Using bbcode, you can do this:

    ***SPOILER***

Just click on the ***SPOILER*** text to reveal what was written. If you do not wish to see the spoiler, simply do not click on the link.

Here's the bbcode to use: [spoiler] insert spoiler text here [ /spoiler].
Whatever text you insert between the tags will post as ***SPOILER*** and users will have to click on the link to see the text.

NOTE: When someone adds this code to their post, it will always be hidden to users by default, so don't worry about accidentally seeing the spoiler if you didn't want to. You definitely will have to click on the link to see the text.

How does this work in the case when the entire thread of a forum is a spoiler? Is it required there?

I already posted an announcement about it on the Battlestar Galactica forum. (That's the only guide I edit that has a relatively busy forum.)

    ***SPOILER***

It would be nice to have a little button to click instead of having to type the SPOILER code.

I only just now saw this. Excellent. I think this will be particularly helpful at The Amazing Race boards.

no it's not incorrect that is a common way to post a code, if you don't add the space in the code, it won't show... when writing the code just leave out any spaces

Actually it's the easy way. Otherwise you have to search for the correct HTML coding to show up the characters without their function.

missribs --- if I may --- does the addition of this code mean that by any chance we might see other enhancements to the code in the future?
