TV.com awards - or plans to award - an Emblem called "Contribution god" to members who have 1000 Submissions accepted.

I am petitioning the staff to allow me to decline the Emblem rather than to incur the vain use of God's name on my Profile. Short of stopping at Submission #999, or taking my Profile private, can I accomplish this any other way?

Well im catholic and i only believe in one God as i assume you do. God as the one and only one i believe in is spelled God(capital G) thew one they have is contribution god(lower case g) So that means its like one of those gods back hen that the aztecs believed in that they thought they were cheese and the sun was a god. Those ones tthat i dont want to offend anyone but IMO and MY BELIEFS those are not real God's. I apologize if i am offending anyone i am just stating my beliefs because i believe in one and only one god which is God. So it wouldnt offend me that much if it was spelled god. BUt i can see if it would offend others.

I hadn't really thought about this. I can see the point but I thought of the title as a combination of a "Wayne's World"-type exclamation ("You're a god! We're not worthy") and an ancient Greek or Roman god, one of whom appears to be in the icon.

I don't think it's a reference to the God and it's not intended to be a target for worship, so it's not really a false idol.

[I just hope that discussion of this doesn't bring in some of the anti-religion fanatics. I've run into some in real life and it's not pleasant being yelled at for hours just because you dared to say you believe in God.]

TV.com has assured me that the number of Submissions required to be awarded the Emblem has been increased beyond my grasp. Thank you, staff, for working with me.
