What started off as my complaint/report/request for help turned into a solution for my problem after I checked this post with the HTML editor prior to posting it. There I found the format in which my message would have been posted to the Forum. Using that information I went back to my problematic message and re-edited the HTML to match this message and guess what? It worked!!
So, here is my request for help (left in so that those with a similar problem might recognize it) along with the solution that I was able to discover at the last minute.
This is (was) EXTREMELY frustrating.
I've spent 5 or 6 hours these past two days trying to post some new news about the TV series Primeval but keep getting TAG SPAN MAY NOT HAVE ATTRIBUTE CLASS errors.
I've tried removing links, removing bold wording, changing all the font to Arial, messing about with the HTML editor, posting in the Help threads and even cutting and pasting to MS Word and reformatting to Arial before pasting back to TV.com, but NO LUCK.
I have seen a number of posts from other members with the same problem but so far not one has been given any advice or a fix or even an explanation about what the error results from.
I realised quite early in the piece that the problem most likely stemmed from my having cut and pasted part of my post from another source as this was the only thing I had done diferrently from earlier successful posts.
If you have had the same problem then open your message with the HTML Editor button and make sure that your message begins with and each paragraph ends withanything else that doesn't form a part of your message or formatting (bold italic etc) should be deleted. You might want to make a copy of your message before you start though, just in case you make a mistake.
I hope this post is of more assistance than I recieved myself on this subject and can be understood from my simple explanation. If not, please feel free to send me a message and I'll try to explain in more detail.
