Episode Summary

Eloise Hawke, a teacher, is retiring. Her lack of compassion and mercy for her students has left her alone to the point that no student come to her retirement ceremony. Later that day, she is killed in a robbery and appears before Judge Othneil, who accuses her of having killed the soul of Eric Lee. Eric was a promising athlete who was unable to play in a big game in front of college scouts because Eloise failed him on an exam and, despite his begging with her, refused to give him a second chance.

The Judge is about to condemn her until Mr. Jones makes an impassioned plea for a second chance, arguing that she could not give love and compassion because she had never received any. The Judge agrees and sends her back to the time just before she failed Eric. She is sent back as her own academic evaluator and must convince her younger self to open her heart to Eric and give him a second chance.
