  • Favourite 'Angel'

So out of the two 'angels' which did you prefer? Personally I liked Paul better - a lot less serious (and I thought he was cuter).

What a wonderful show. They should consider making more of them. We could use more of this type of programming on t.v. instead of some of the trash that's on there now. There are so few truly good moral t.v. shows to watch these days. hide « show »

It's a great show. Who wouldn't like a second chance? Well written, thought provoking, making you consider what changes you can make in your life to make a difference. I'd like to see it come back. There are so few truly good moral t.v. shows to watch these days. The great thing about the show too is that it has that much wanted happy ending. It gives you expectancy, and that warm fuzzy feeling that motivates a person to do better, be better. It offers up a cornucopia of good feeling, warmth, and occasional heart ache... but never leaves you disappointed. There are some hardened old buzzards out there who might find this show mushy but there is already too much t.v. fare out there for them to choose from. For my money, this show is it.

An inspirational tv show that ended too prematurely, it could have easily lasted more seasons. hide « show »

I really enjoyed this tv series drama, Twice In A Lifetime, because it was great watching someone having a second chance to fix their life when it all started to go wrong. I am sure that there are a lot of us who wished they could go back in time to correct a wrong decision, a major mistake, etc. You always wonder if your life would have turned out differently if only you had trusted your instincts, or listened to the advice of a friend, and so on. The plots were good, the actors were very convincing played especially Paul Popowich as Mr. Smith. I felt a lot of sympathy for Mr. Smith because you felt his compassion, honesty, and even confusion and soul-searching as he did his job. And, you knew that he was only going to be doing that for a while - until he figured out what he had to learn and change about himself before he could move on. But, unfortunately, with the premature ending of this inspiring series we will never get to see what was destined for him.

Mr Smith was perfect. hide « show »

I started watching the series when Season 2 came to Australian television (we never got Season 1 on the first run).

Mr Smith was the perfect example of great writing and great casting when Paul Popowich was chosen. The story lines were fresh and entertaing, without having the annoying 'goody-two shoes' storylines of shows like Touched by an Angel which after a while get more than a little annoying.

It's a great shame that the show was never bought back for a third season. It would have been great to see Paul back as Mr Smith - even though it would mean a new Judge but I feel that it still could have worked well.

A great pity it's no longer on TV.

    8.6 Great

A little-known show filled with depth. hide « show »

When this show first came out, I was unaware of it. I found it when the second season was just beginning and I thought it sounded interesting, so I watched. The premise was unusual and intriguing, and at the time it did not bother me. (Now, however, I feel that everything does happen for a reason, and everything shapes who we are, so I do not care for the show's premise anymore.) I enjoyed the fact that it was a religious show that did not become overly sappy/preachy.

Mostly I loved it for Mr. Smith. He was so kind and caring, honestly wanting to help the people he was assigned to. In contrast, when I finally saw some of the season 1 episodes with Mr. Jones, I found him to be businesslike and impersonal, wanting only to get his monthly quotas filled.

Sometimes the show leaned towards the bizarre, such as an episode where the man and Mr. Smith were sent back as women because the man needed to learn more about women since he had always treated them badly. At the same time it was clever and fun, and often they went into eras that are personal favorites of mine (such as the Prohibition-era episode "Moonshine Over Harlem").

Even though I do not care for the premise any longer, I am still fond of the show and especially Mr. Smith and Judge Othniel. It definitely was original, and it's a shame that it could not have continued to air.

Take a gander at the main page! hide « show »

The entire concept of this show was so very original and engaging! It should have gone on much much longer. The acting was great, the plot lines awesome and the actors even better! This show was undeniably addictive and will forever be missed. Every thing about the show was so amazing!
