Episode Summary

17-year old Sam Ryder finds out from a milk carton that someone is looking for him and his sister Angel and wonders if it is their mother. He confronts his father who reiterates his story that his mother was a dangerous drug addict and that he took the kids 12 years ago for their own good. Within a week, he is killed in an accidental shooting.

After seeing that his sister has never been happy or even smiled since she lost her mother, Sam forgoes his trip to heaven and asks Judge Othniel for an opportunity to go back and help her. The judge sends Sam back as a green-haired transfer student in order to convince himself to come clean with Angel and to have the courage to hear the full truth about his parents.
