Two-time Grammy Award-nominated singer Tyrese Gibson was cast as Staff Sargeant Epps in the most anticipated movie of 2007, "Transformers." He was cast along side Jon Voight and now confirmed John Turturro. Thru his past movies, he gained enough respect from directors Michael Bay and Vondie Curtis Hall, enough to where he didn't have to audition for his role. "Like right now, I'm working on Transformers. Michael Bay had me in mind... him and Spielberg discussed it and they came after me. Everybody else in the film had to audition. They came at me about the role... I think its one of them things I definitely felt fortunate because at this point, no one is able to say that he's only doing films because he can sing. I got over that bridge that a lot of entertainers, who make a transition, cant get passed."

Tyrese also mentioned he was a fan of the TV show. "I loved Transformers when I was a kid, my mom would appreciate it right now. The budget is so crazy on this movie, I'm having post war syndrome, things are just blowing up around me all the time."
