High school buddies Parker "Nitz" Walsh, Cal Evans, Justin "Gimpy" Taylor and Rocko Gambiani all begin their freshman year in college. Nitz and Cal are roommates residing in Chilton Hall at State U. Gimpy, the stereotypical nerd, goes to nearby Tekerson Tech. Rocko goes to a local community college. Tensions begin to arise between the friends when Rocko pledges the fraternity Alpha Alpha, placing him at odds with Gimpy, who says "frat boys and nerds are mortal enemies."


Nitz encounters Jessie, a tomboy-ish girl from his floor, going through his room. While the two are in conversation, Kimmy Burton arrives at Nitz and Cals room. Nitz, it turns out, has had a huge fixation with Kimmy since high school. Upon learning of a mixer on Nitz and Cal's floor, Kimmy mentions she will be there and would like to hear all of Nitz's stories from his first week. After she leaves, he realizes he has done nothing since arriving at State U.


As Nitz tries to cram as many experiences he can in three hours, Rocko is on a rampage of self-destruction. He has decided to haze himself in the name of Alpha Alpha after the fraternity mentions they are no longer allowed to haze. Gimpy sends his prized minion, Mump, to spy on Rocko and observe his behavior. When it becomes apparent he will not be steered away from the fraternity, Gimpy sends his men on a mission to sabotage Rocko's chances of being accepted into the brotherhood. However, this fails and actually succeeds in getting Rocko admitted to the fraternity.


Nitz is unsuccessful in his search of experiences, only ending up laying his "Kimmy story" on unwitting listeners. When it becomes apparent that Kimmy will not be coming to the mixer, Nitz self-destructs emotionally, only to be calmed later by his new friend Jessie. All in all, the episode ends with the high school friends reconciling and vowing for a good Saturday night.
