I am a rescuer of rats in Michigan and have an issue about one of
your television shows.
I saw a promo for a new TV show on the Fox Channel
called "Unhitched." They showed a scene where 2 boys put a rat into
a microwave oven and turn it on. Then it shows their faces
as they supposedly watch the rat being cooked. At they end, one of
them says, "That was the longest 9 minutes of my life," and the
other one says something like, "It looked like he was enjoying it
for the first few minutes."
The cruelty shown in this television show is unacceptable and only
leads to more and more acts of cruelty to animals and in the long
run to humans as well. The loss of one rat this way only shows how
cruel these boys are towards animals. There have been studies done
in prisons and mental health facilities that show that torture and
killing of animals is one of the factors in becoming either a serial
killer or mass murderer.
Obviously we in the fancy rat community want to prevent this show
from airing. I'm personally going to be contacting as many
organizations as I can, such as Humane Society of the US, American
Humane, etc. for their help, as well as newspapers, and even the
Federal Communications Commission.
We know this type of cruelty to animals will encourage children or
young adults to put small pets in the microwave. We are not going to
sit by and let this air: a scene like
this is totally unacceptable.

Inhumane scene should be removed from show. Too many people are influenced by what they watch on TV. A TV station knows this and should take responsibility for what they air. I would like to know who the advertisers are for this episode and I will boycott their products and put on my pet sitting website that these as well as Fox should be boycotted due to animal inhumanity scene. Come on Fox, take some responsibility and delete this horrid scene. I have already contacted PETA hoping that they can convince you to remove the scene. cits4pets where happy pets go with the flo and are not microwaved!

I absolutely agree 100% with rat lady, I own 3 dogs, 3 cats, one of them is a kitten, this is such horrible animal cruelty, what is wrong with these people??? Don't we have enough hate in this world, by all means lets give the unbalanced more ideas to do. I am contacting all my animal loving friends, my vet. I show dogs, all my dog friends, and as many others I can think of, this show cannot air!! Disgusted animal lover

If these scene is in the show, then I think FOX should delete it. However, what's the point on pulling the plug on the whole show? I personally think this will be quite a good sitcom, as long as they delete this one scene.

Let's not get the cart before the horse, people. Wait and see if the objectionable scene actually airs. Quite often, preview and promotional scenes don't actually appear in the show. If this one does, fine...go on and hate on the show, but direct your hatred to a place that will actually make a difference - the network. I guarantee you that nobody from FOX pays attention to this board, so you're barking up the wrong tree.

Also- Rat Lady..I've seen my fare share of 'animal cruelty' in Family Guy as well!

Hey, I love rats too. They make the best pets ever. But come on, shock value has always been part of comedy. Do you really think censorship will help further your cause?

It always shocks me that people insist that the networks should be taking responsibility for what kids are watching on tv instead of the parents. It's very simple. If you don't want your kids to watch something on tv, pick up the remote, turn it off, and get their lazy @ss to go outside and play. Kid's shouldn't be watching a program like this to begin with, and it's their parents job to make sure they don't, not the network.

I'm guessing this was a joke.

Any individual who agrees with / sympathizes with a group such a PETA should be placed in a microwave themself. Or, put in that large freezer at the PETA HQ which they use to store the dead bodies of the animals they themselves kill (about 85% of what they take-in).

The top poster says the promo showed two boys: do they mean Gator and the other guy?

This scene was in the last episode. And the animal rights was the main plot of the episode. That's why they did that scene.
It was not funny at all really...
