    profile banner template
It is just a 760x140 pixel picture that includes the tabs that block the image and a white background. If you try making a banner without it, you can easily block out important areas an image.

A template is very handy. I was using a screen cap but this is better.

I've been using a template for a while now. Like most of us, I kept getting the tabs in the way so at least this way you can make sure to keep your banner "ingredients" outside of them.

Not to take away from your thunder, here is my banner/blog template. One is for the banner the other I find useful in sizing up the blog when I put pix and such in.
There's nothing worse than having your blog get all screwy because of elements getting moved around because of margins.

    Banner template updated 09/15/2007:

Because TV.com eliminates the "Listings" tab on outbound versions of your profile this missing tab can cause a "hole" in the banner image where the extra length of the tab bar would normally be. Unfortunately you can not see this effect as the "listings" tab is shown to only you on your profile.
I have decided to update the banner template to show the "outbound" tab configuration as this is what you would want to insure is correct. As the tab covers the area in your own view of your profile it does not effect your banner, unless you do have a part of your banner image in that area. This is fine as it will show up to others but will be blocked on your view.

I know it sounds complicated and I really don't know why they made the change, or at least this way. They should simply move the button elsewhere. The banner area is getting smaller as it is, why make it more difficult to make a nice one?

PM me if you have any problems or need further explaination!

Can you store your sig somewhere so it automatically comes up, or do you have to insert the link everytime? Thanks. Just learning.

Go to preferences and in the boards tab there is an option to add a signature which will appear on the bottom of every post.
