    Below are the unofficial recent Contributor Point values per submission as of July 2007. Please keep in mind that they are just experimental results, and that abusing the system by editing/filling in useless information in other fields, or spreading out your submission over multiple posts is gaming and will result in rejections and/or a TOS violation.

    There may be BUGS where submissions do not stick, so consult with the editor of the show on your subs. Also note that recently, Show-level fields have been made available for everyone to submit on regardless of editor, but should only be changed if there are major things to fix and not minor trivia adds.

    ADD/EDIT Episode summary:
    All of these can be submitted on one page.
    Episode's Name (Title) = 1 pt.
    Episode Synopsis (Summary) = 3 pts.
    Episode Recap = 5 pts.
    Season Number = 1 pt.
    Episode Type = 1 pt.
    Episode Number (season) = 1 pt.
    Episode Number (lifetime) = 1 pt.
    First Aired Date = 1 pt.
    Episode Production Code = 1 pt.

    Combinations:
    Prod Code and Airdate = 1 pt.
    Prod Code and Title = 2 pts.
    Lifetime number and Title = 2 pts.
    Title, airdate, episode numbers, and prod code all at once = 2 pts.
    Change EVERYTHING except the Recap = 6 pts.

    Summary and Recap = 8 pts.
    Change EVERYTHING = up to 10 pts.

    EPISODE RENUMBERING TOOL (Editors only) = 0 pts. but each Save counts as an Accepted sub.

    SHOW LEVEL submissions:
    Show Summary = 5 pts.
    Cast = 5 pts.*
    Crew = 2 pts.*

    EPISODE LEVEL submissions:
    Episode Trivia = 1 pt.
    Episode Notes = 1 pt.
    Episode Allusions = 1 pt.
    Episode Quotes = 1 pt.
    Cast = 2 pts.*
    Crew = 2 pts.*

    PERSON guide submissions:
    Credited Name only = 2 pts.
    Biography only = 4 pts.
    Credited Name and Bio only = 5 pts.
    Birthplace and Birthday = 1 pt.
    Birthday only = 1 pt.
    Date of Death and Cause of Death = 1 pt.
    Delete any number of aliases = 1 pt.
    Adding any number of aliases = 2 pts.
    Changing just about everything = 5-6 pts.

    Person Trivia = 2 pts.
    Person Quote = 2 pts.

    Review = 0 pts. but does help your general level.

    * = These are awarded per sub, and should be combined as much as possible. See TheOldBill's note below for detailed explanation on how the system awards subs for cast and crew, although the system can now accept more than the 7. I recommend submitting up to 30 at a time, maybe 40 if you have a good connection.

    All values and information are subject to change, as staff regularly messes with the values, so feel free to discuss and comment below.

    Some things seem odd. Is it possible to add an episode without a season, season number, and lifetime number?

    Normally, when building a guide I submit title, airdate, summary, season, season number and lifetime number.

    Well, this is definitely a work in progress, so why not post what you've seen? I wonder of things are changing as the system is tweaked as well.

    Adding a new episode (title, summary, season, episode numbers, date, production number: everything except a recap) is worth 5 points.

    Show summary edits are working, but not satisfactorily, as the system tries to add a 1/1/08 end date for new and returning shows. These are still worth 5 points.

    Cast submissions at summary level are still worth 5 points. Crew submissions at summary level are still worth 2 points.

    Cast and crew submissions at episode level are worth 2 points, no matter many additions/deletions or edits are made. The value of crew submissions has doubled because this now uses the cast submission form. Bear in mind that the system will currently accept no more than 8 additions, or 7 edits/deletions. If making an 8th edit, the system may add a new entry for that person instead of editing the existing one.

    Bio edits are not recommended unless you have both a date of birth and date of death. If date of birth is left blank, the system infills 1/1/08. If date of birth is completed, but date of death left blank, the system infills 1/1/08. These dates cannot be removed by further submission.

    It would seem that a well-written biography would be worth just a bit more......

    I've recently added episode summaries or replaced cut-and-paste summaries for about 25 pre-existing episodes of an editorless series. Each was worth 4 CP points, in two instances where I edited the title too, (4 + 1) 5 points.

    Thanks! Confirmed the 4 CP on Angelic Layer EP 22 summary.

    I also changed recap from 9 to 8 because I think that was scored on one of my recent recaps. Can someone confirm that?

    EDIT: What the heck? It's now 6 CP for a pure recap add/change. Why is there only a two point difference between this and a summary? One takes 50 words to write, the other 500-1500 words.

    There is an odd inconsistency going on that I don't quite understand...is there a difference between editing an existing entry and writing one all new? I have a feeling that the values might need a lot of input....

    Also, despite the fact that season and lifetime numbers can somehow be submitted in spite of conflicts (grrr), I wonder if they really have point values.

    Editing an episode title and changing the lifetime # earned me 2 points. If someone has just a title they can edit, we could see if they get 1 or 2 points.

    Just tested an episode title change only, and got 2 points for it.

    I haven't seen a difference between editing and adding, and in some cases I'd rather prefer it that way because some summaries and recaps are lousy or filled with blank spaces, Coming Soons, and TBD's back from when those fields were mandatory. Other cases, like fixing one word in the spelling, shouldn't really garner the same.

    OK, making these changes
    changing episode title from 1 pt to 2 pts.
    adding episode title and lifetime number = 2 pts.
    adding birthplace and birthday = 1 pt
    editing birthday because the stupid form didn't take the birthday before = 1 pt.

    The man thing that seems to be weird is the "combination" values. I've had a number of summary and episode title edits that only gave 5 points, not the 6 you would expect based on the formulas.

    That make me made laugh out loud.

    I agree the combo points seem to be a little strange. If they are trying to prevent gaming, then having items worth less when submitted at the same time seems counter productive.

    Last note: I think season and lifetime #'s are worth 0. They don't seem to effect CPs.

    Adding gender to a person guide gets you 1 pt. Adding Cause of Death gets 1 pt. (I would assume date of death is the same, but can't confirm that yet.)

    I don't know how either works in combination with other info on the form.

    I don't have details - summary submissions are a no-go area right now - but can confirm that editing only selected fields garners fewer than 5 points.

    Does anyone know the points for editing both the summary and recap? (Just those two)
