How to Get to Level 2
Post on forums, write reviews and blogs, add users to your friends list, and basically take advantage of all that TV.com has to offer and you should be level two by the next update. Updates are at I believe 9:30 am EST (might need confirmation).
Forum Posts
Forums are a great place to express your opinions on various issues, but they don't really help your level as much as you might think. Don't just post a bunch of messages in a row on a board hoping to earn points. This is spamming, one of the more serious ToS violations. You're better off writing reviews and blogs. I just wrote a thread called Forum Tips: How to Get Other People To Respect Your Opinion.
Reviews
The wonderful world of reviewing is open to you from day one, but it is you who must step through the door. When writing a review, put in your honest thoughts and opinions (within reason and the ToS), and you should reach the 100 word minimum in no time. As with forum posts, don't just post a bunch of nonsense in an attempt to level up. This is once again spamming. I recently wrote another thread on this called The Art of Reviewing
Blogs
Blogs are for your personal thoughts. You may post anything you desire in your blog, so long as it falls under the ToS. You are able to blog from the first second you confirm your membership. As with forum posts and editing, don't post a bunch of one word blogs in an attempt to earn points. This is spamming, though I'm not sure as to whether or not policy differs on this one. I assume it's the same.
Personal Messages (PMs)
TV.com has a personal messaging system similar to e-mail, but only registered TV.com members may send or receive them (Seriously though, how IS that different from e-mail?). They do move your level up, but you would have to send several hundred to move up significantly, and that's spamming.
Submissions, submissions, submissions!
Submissions are hands down one of the best ways to level up and leave your own personal mark on the site. Once you reach level two, you can make submissions to guides. Submissions earn you both level points and contributor points. To see contributor point values, click here. Only the staff knows level point values.
Hope all that helps. If any of you other users have a tip let me know and I'll edit it into this post.
