Sometimes tv.com will have temporary glitches. These are nothing to worry about. If a glitch occurs, just wait awhile and the tv.com mods should fix it.Some of the most common glitches are:

    1. Your level counter says you're a level 1 or zero: This is the most common glitch. Most of the time there is nothing to worry about, but every now and then the site may think you are actually that level, and may restrict you from doing things you could normally do like submit trivia or quotes for a show, or post in forums.
    2. You can't read or send PM's: This is one of the most recent glitches. While it is very annoying, the mods will fix it within a day or 2.
    3. Your icon/avatar, personal picture, or banner on your profile won't show up: Sometimes this may be a glitch with the site, or it may be that you image is to big, or you tried to upload a file type that isn't recognized by tv.com. For size specifications, see the PROFILE IMAGES: Banner / Icon / Personal Image Limitations thread. accepted file types are mostly JPG, PNG, and GIF.
These are the most common glitches, and I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of any more right now. If you discover a new glitch, use this forum to inform the mods about it so they can try to fix it as soon as possible. If you do discover more, please feel free to post them here.

Well even you are these levels you can still submit no problem and certainly for the level 1 bug you can just go to prefs, save changes, and then refresh your profile and it's fixed...

i know that, but i'm just saying that every now and then it still restricts you. And, plus, new users may not know some of these things.Just trying to be helpful.

I know what you are trying to say but I can't see anywhere that it restricts you any more. Plus new users should know about it because of the pinned threads like this one.

Yeah, I don't really see how this is a tip thread either. There seem to be a few of these non-tip threads getting posted on this forum lately, including the other one that contained inaccurate information.

Another glitch seems to occur when editors such as myself make changes to a user's submission (in regard to spelling and other necessary changes for proper format), approve it, but yet the changes don't take when it goes through. Editors would have to re-edit the entry as a result. Some editors may be more aware of this than others because one time, a submission I made for an episode recap was rejected only because submissions to TV.com couldn't go through at the time. If the editor was aware of this, wouldn't have it have been better to leave it in the queue until they could? I hated having to resubmit solely because of that.

I thought this issue was licked. Have you experienced this recently?

Not recent, but it happened a couple of months ago when I was adding a recap to an episode, but was rejected by the editor because submissions couldn't be accepted at the time. Some time before that, I was modifying submissions by other users, but the changes I made did not take when I approved them and had to re-edit them to get them corrected. Hopefully, that glitch has been resolved.

That bug was discussed extensively a while back, as it affected a number of editors. As far as anyone knows, it's resolved.

That's a standard error that always goes away after a few hours. I'm pretty sure it's in the list of glitches I posted.

The first glitch happens a lot. But when it happens to me, not only does it show me at level 1, but if i'm in a forum topic, it displays everyone else at level 1 aswell!(?)

I found another glitch the other day. I went to change my picture and I tried 4 different ones. I finally found one that I liked and put it on. It was fine for the rest of the day. When I signed back on the next morning, the first picture that I tried was uploaded instead of the one I settled with the day before! The next day it was the second one I tried and the next day it was the third one that I tried and the next day it was the fourth one I tried! On the fifth day it went back to the original one that I chose, thank goodness. It got fixed in the end, but MAN IT WAS WEIRD!

I have just found another one:

The drop-down list under my name at the top of the screen that has my favourite shows in it has no shows in it! They haven't been removed from my account, because I can still access them from my account, (by going into "my favourite shows") but I don't know what's gone wrong.

TOday I tried to review How I Met Your Mother -- wrote a 100+ word thing and everything -- and it didn't show up. I went and reviewed The Big Bang Theory and Big Brother, then tried to review HIMYM again; didn't let me. Then I submitted a review for The Joy of Painting, which has also not as yet shown up. Is this a glitch, or am I just allowed two reviews a day or something like that?

Reviews can sometimes take a couple of hours to show up. If they still haven't shown up by the time you read this message, try reposting. There isn't a limit on the amount of reviews you can post (that I'm aware of) but there is that slight delay sometimes.
