    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

I really like this episode. With a lot of shows and networks coming out with poker tournaments its nice to see poker other than a game that anyone can play including criminals. I like how they used the hotel from gained from a previous episode. One scene which I found funny is when Christopher is buying fish at the deli. With all the money they make from all the scams he does , he even cheats the system for even for a few dollars. Once again Janice is in the picture to try to get in on the action. This time she is pushing Richie for grab more power within the family.

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

Action, action and even more action sums up this episode nicely. And this action takes place in the space, inside a starbase and on the surface of the algae planet below. Even with two sides clearly at odds with each other. There are factions within that blur the lines of which side they are on. Each mini faction seems to have their own agenda and try to follow thru with it. I thought the plan to rescue Hera seems like a weird one at first but in the end it was Ingenuous. The ending was a great sequence that will draw a lot more attention in following episodes for sure.

    The Bottom Line: "Great"

Another episode with more character development. That's what this episode is. This one puts on display a few more of the aliens power and their limits. The ability to heal for the aliens is the ability to revert the cells to their normal state. This does not apply to natural aging processes. Thus Max was not able to heal Liz's grandmother but he did give Liz the chance to say good bye. Its funny to see Isabel wait on tables just to help out. She does put her abilities to good use. Michael on the other hand doesn't, his use of powers only causes more suspicion and mischief.

    The yoke of Christ

Matthew 11:28-30 28 "Come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For My yoke is easy and My burden light

So why do we have a tendency to make the yoke of Christ a burden, a chore, heavy, "religious". Why do we place the yoke of the law around our neck instead of the yoke of Christ. Do we follow Christ and carry out his commandments because we love Him and for his love for us, or do we do it because we think we have to otherwise we will be punished. Now we should have a respectful fear of the Lord, but if fear is our sole reason for serving Christ then you are just being "religious" and you are completely missing the point in serving Christ.

We make serving God so hard sometimes, we just have to make that yoke heavier and heavier. Just like the Pharisees. We condemn and judge people by the clothes they wear, the food they eat, the music they listen to, the way the praise and worship God, the type of Bible they read and even the day they worship the Lord on and even judge people on their emotions. Is this done out of a love for Christ and his love for us, or is it done for our own selfsish desires and self-seeking approval in our beliefs. Or is this done because we are so afraid of God and at any moment he will bring punishment down on us if we stumble. That is fear only, the fear of punishment and there is no love in that. God does not desire for us to be like some beat down dog with our leg constantly between our legs and cowering and peeing all over ourselves because we have so much fear for him. Of course we cannot be so flippant with our attitude toward God or his discipline, however we are not to live our lives in constant fear of him either.

Christ called us and we came to him willingly and put on His yoke, why do we add more to that yoke. Why did we come to Christ, and why do we serve him? Is it out love or fear and self-seeking approval of what we do?

EXTREMELY IMPORTANT!! Someone I've Known for a Long Time Has Gone Missing...

I was very VERY surprised to hear that this happened. So I've known this guy named Jenner Roberts since 7th grade. He was always in some of my classes and we both really knew each other well but never really became friends because he was rather critical towards me. He was also kind of a strange guy, like two years ago he randomly stopped coming to school because he didn't feel like it for about 6 weeks and got home schooled instead. Then, the next year, he got home schooled full time and sometimes showed up at school randomly as if he still came here. And as of this school year, I saw him once, at a school football game, and said hi to him. I was pleasantly suprprised to see him. That was in early October. Anyways, I heard that after that at some time, he was sent to a facility of some sort in Provo, Utah and on the 22nd of November he ran away from there and is nowhere to be found now. It stinks. I wish I could help his family out but he ran off in Utah very under the radar. So for now my thoughts and prayers are with them. Here is his missing persons report. I hope he comes back...
