The New Year

So its a New Year, a New start a New beginning or whatever, however there is only one New Grey's Anatomy episode and this upsets me because I don't know how long I can last with not seeing another New episode; especially after the drama that ensued on that episode! I haven't written any reviews for a LONG time but tonight I changed that and ranted for a long time about how I felt about that episode. So now I'm going to halt and think about other things as the thing I'm not thinking about is upsetting me as I'm not going to see a New thing for a long time. So... I turn 18 on Tuesday (15th) and that means that in 3 days and 18 minutes I am going to officially be an adult in jolly, thundering England. That means that I can drink and smoke if I choose, I can vote but then again I have to pay for things like the dentist andother adulty things.

Its very latehere and you can probably tell that my boring ramblings are getting worse so Iam going to stop. Just one last thing...Happy New Year!

Life

It is so strange how Grey's Anatomy can link so closely to your life, ok, so McDreamy hasn't yet swept me off my feet BUT some storylines, usually the bad unromantic ones, do link. On the 5th of April 2007 I was on a college cruise trip around the Greek Islands. We were having a great time until we arrived at Santorini, long story short, our ship hit a rock and started to sink- without seeming too dramatic i honestly thought this is it, i am going to die! i thought of my family, friends, pets and life for the 3 hours that me and hundreds others were stuck on the ship with no hope and full of fear. We all lost everything as it sank completely and 2 people sadly died in the disaster; by some kind of miracle (ooo look what I did there!) only 2 people died, it could have been hundreds more. My point is this is much like the ferry boat disaster and it has changed my outlook on everything. I can sympathise with characters more when they lose someone they love as i now consciously realise that these disasters happen around the world all the time. Enough of me going on and feeling sorry for myself...Grey's Anatomy season finale was a crazy ending and i just can't wait until season 4. Sorry if this depressed you.

The Break

So it is the 13th of March and we havn't been able to watch Grey's for weeks! I don't know about you but for me it has been excrutiating! I have to wait until saturday for some kind person to upload it as I'm obviously in England. These George and Izzie rumours have been worrying me and I really want to see how Meredith recovers and gets back to work. Not long now, I'll try and be patient!!!

Grey's Anatomy

It's 7.58pm here in snowy England and I just saw the promo for Season 3 episode 16 "Drowning on Dry Land", bear in mind season 2 just ended here. I developed this obsession which means i have to know what is happening on Grey's Anatomy even half way across the world in America; sad i know. I know Meredith can't die, right?! They can't kill her cause she's the main character, right?Gotta go...over and out.

Firstly, Derek's house plan was absolutely adorable, had the most INCREDIBLE location and if I was Meredith I would jump at the chance of living in a perfect house with the perfect man and making the perfect family...however, A)this IS Meredith we are talking about, who we all know has some very large trust issues she has to overcome, and B)Derek sometimes isn't the perfect man. I agree in some way with Meredith that Derek was perhaps rushing her a bit with the monumental proposal of moving into this perfect house yet Meredith needs to make a step and help Derek gain her trust as he just doesn't know where he stands.

This leads me on to the hugely disappointing story line of Derek and Rose. I love the actress who plays Rose, I even love the character yet I don't like where the writers have placed this character. I'm sure they have some wonderful idea of how the mer/der/rose love triangle is going to pan out and it will be magnificent television but it is going to be an excrutiating journey. I just can't wait to get to the destination at the end. (See what I did there?)

Moving on from the ever depressing, never ending love triangle. Izzie and Alex showed some promise, or maybe that was because I still have hope for them myself. It would be way too soon for them to move into a relationship as both him and her need to be single to work themselves out. It was interesting to see a slight insight to Alex's past with the healing lady saying he was a good boy but a bad man. I can't wait to see the past behind it. I do have to disagree though; I think he's a good man with a bad shield.

The Izzie-George thing is very ambiguous at the moment and I know they broke up but left the book open for the future but they have kind of just left it hanging and I would like some clarity of maybe just some best friend screen time; I miss that. It was good to see Mrs O'Malley and I'm pleased for George that it allowed him to look for his old self, better self. Thus leading to his friendship with Lexie that I find very endearing. They have great chemistry and maybe a possible love connection but for now I just want to see their friendship blossom.

Now onto Callie. I felt extremely sorry for her when she was speaking to George's mum about her loving being a part of the O'malley family, it was sort of heart-breaking. That's why I love her new found relationship with Erica Hahn. I figure she misses Addison and needed a replacement friendship. Erica and Mark's no-go relationship was one of the only funny parts of the episode. It enabled me to not feel manically depressed by the end of it. I do however think something will develop there and I look forward to seeing if it does.

Now to the main storyline of the episode- Bailey's tragic story. I was so relieved to see that Tuck was perfectly okay at the end but simultaneously gutted that Bailey's relationship with Tucker hit the big rock, no matter how inevitable it was. It was brilliant to see how this story affected everyone who cared about Bailey at the hopsital and maybe it will show Tucker that her job is more than just a job it is where part of her family is.Poor Bailey :-(

It was a perfect episode for the writers to end on (even though it wasn't entirely planned) because if it had been an episode with less drama and less great storylines the fans may have decided to quit on them over the strike. (I'm speaking on behalf of all the fans as I plan to stand by the writers and be there to watch the episodes when it all gets back to normal). I can't wait to see how this all works out and as a loyal Meredith and Derek fan I hope that they end up together and stay together, but perhaps Rose is the perfect candidate to show Meredith what she is really missing!

That episode was so overwhelmingly emotional. I think the 'dream' bits were superbly written and the incredible writers avoided any cheesy bits. I loved the 'dream' bits as it was a brilliant way to reintroduce some of our favourite characters like Denny and Dylan. The end bit with Izzie and Denny was so lovely and was the first time i really felt the love they shared. Patrick Dempsey should win many many awards for his performance in this episode, it was heartwrenching seeing him cry! I think this is the best I have seen most of the actors act; shout out to the casting staff. Cristina was very funny at the 99 cence store and i'm so pleased Burke finally understood her 'person' thing with Meredith. I feel so sorry for Denny so alone, what has he got to do to escape that place like Dylan can?! Ellen Pompeo also deserves some kind of award and the bit with Meredith and her mum was perfect. I'm so glad Ellis said that Meredith was "anything but ordinary"; Meredith can now happily close that chapter in her life with no regrets. I LOVED THIS EPISODE!!!

My heart is still racing fast just thinking about the episode! Everything that is great about Grey's Anatomy was shown in this episode!

George found that the little kid was with Callie the whole time, metaphorically symbolising that he really has found what he was always looking for with Callie. George's character has also developed loads; in the first ever episode he promised a family that everything will be okay and in this episode he did the same yet this time you could really see him as a man being responsible and controlled.

Izzie's speech was amazing, some people didn't like the whole 'George made a mistake marrying Callie' bit, but i think that showed realism and truth, i didn't like what she said but i liked the fact she said it, it's who Izzie is.

The Mark and Derek bit was wonderful, i love it how Derek excepts his friendship and i think he ultimately thanks Mark for the whole affair as without it he would never have met Meredith, the love of his life. Addison's role in reviving Meredith was great to see! She truly felt she had to save her and showed no resentment. The look Derek and Addison shared said so much and Addison just knew she had to help Meredith as much as she could. Cristina in this episode showed depth, i mean she let Izzie hug her; she doesn't do hugs! She showed how much she relied on Meredith and i loved to see her vulnerable side even if Burke didn't understand it.

Finally the whole Meredith thing, did she try and kill herself?! she kind of just let herself drown like at the beginning of 'Walk on Water'. Derek tried to be her knight in shining whatever but was stopped and became so helpless, i loved seeing him cry; Patrick Dempsey was superb!

Seeing Denny and bomb guy was such a great way to end the show, it was sooo clever. My theory is she'll spend a little time talking to Denny and then she'll have to make a choice whether to survive or not, and of course as it is 'GREY'S Anatomy' she will choose to live and there will be the whole conversation about whether she tried to kill herself or not. Ultimately, this episode just showed how much Meredith effects everyone's lives and how her absence would effect everyone, god forbid, if she died.

This episode was very exciting and I rated it a 10 as it was the one episode that made me show true emotion! I absolutely loved Tony and Carlos Bernard was the hot one! I still have faith that they're going to bring him back some how (I know, I know he IS dead!) Personally I find 24 one of the best shows as it is so intense! Okay, it's not very realistic but how cool would it be to be Jack Bauer!? That man just can't die can he?! And the writers are absolutely incredible, creating action and drama that occurs in just one day.

Last week's episode was a shocker; finding out that Art is a paedophile and all (supposedly), and i felt let down that nothing else really came from it. I know Desperate Houswives is famous for dragging on story lines until people forget about them and then bringing them back as a surprise but i kind of wanted more. The episode was as usual very charming and quirky and I did like the end when Mike got caught. And on the subject of Mike is it just me or does everyone hate the fact that Mike and Susan aren't together?! I reckon that eventually they'll reunite but for now, Ian is a rather good replacement!
