Digg thisGames are becoming less fun...
So I want to play som Hockey. I see that NHL '08 is the highest rated, so I go grab it. I want to start a season with my Bruins so I can keep track of my wins and losses and some player stats. Nope...not this game. You HAVE to play a Dynasty which then requires you to be bombarded with a ton of menus, messages, salary caps, experience points, etc. I could not even get the damn season started because I was over the salary cap with the current downloaded rosters! Don't most people want to put a disc in, take a few shots, check some people around and make Gretzski bleed a little? Why do all of these sports games just keep adding in more and more complexity and forgetting about the fun factor we all had in the Genesis days? I must sound like an old man by saying that, but I just am not having fun with any sports games anymore. Even Midway took Blitz and turned it into something way more then it needed to be. I know EA tried with NFL Tour, but they actually missed the mark by a mile with that piece of crap. I think I am just going to need to leave my my PS One hooked up and keep playing Blitz and my Genesis to play NHL '93 .

GameSpot Reviews on GameRankings
I got a bunch on IMs yesterday about this and then saw a whole bunch of articles and board posts this morning. Even though I no longer work here, as the founder of that site, I will say that I am sure it was a technical glitch. There is a script that updates the GameSpot reviews automaticlly and since there has been no development on the site in 4 years, something just hic-upped and the script didn't run. I am positive it was not a conscience decision, so put it to rest. I see all the reviews are back this morning. Lee is a machine!

Thanks to the show 30 Days I finally got reminded that Rescue Me existed and got it on my TiVo. Since then it is my favorite show. Fire rescues, drinking problems, bad relationships, gay sons, sex, sex problems, racism, sexism...it has it all! The characters are all unique and creative and the way they interact is brillant. Dennis Leary just fits into this role so well.

This is informative and entertaining, but not really reality. For instance, living off of minimum wage for only 30 days is real tough, but knowing you are going to be back to your rich lives soon takes a lot of the pressure off. They would have been so far in debt the next month it would have been even harder. However, you realize that there are so many people out there that are living pay check to pay check and how do they do it. Makes you realize that throwing 50 cents in a tip jar really is not a big deal to you, but really helps someone else. I have been in that position during my early twentys and know how hard it was to have to figure out where every penny was going to go. It brought back memories.

Two arrogant, pompous, big headed pre-madonnas clash in an amazingly intense episode. This designer Scott pulls up in a Ferrari and all he has to show Jonathan is a few logos which are nothing but print outs of his name in 5 different fonts. I could go get the Mac Font Pack and do this guy's job! Yet he is driving a Ferrari and I am sitting here writing this review! I was standing during the last meeting they had, as I have been in that type of meeting and knew exactly how hard their hearts were beating and how intense it gets in there. I think this confrontation is just warming up and is going to either come to a head in a future issue, or they are going to kiss and make-up when everything turns out well. I can't wait to find out which way it goes!
