Boston Legal gets better with age. When it first debuted (spun off from the more serious The Practice), it had trouble finding its tone for a while. It wasn't sure whether it wanted to be a comedy or a drama. In the first season, there were too many extraneous characters who didn't add much to the show. Beyond James Spader and William Shatner, there wasn't much to it.

However, everything began to turn around when Candice Bergin was added to the cast. She brought the fresh blood the show badly needed, and it also allowed writers to dump the useless cast members (like Lake Bell and Monica Potter).

Now in its third season, Boston Legal has found its groove. It wisely focuses more on the comedy with the occasional dramatic storyline thrown in, and it works.

It's good to see that at least one of the rookie shows from the '06-'07 season is doing well. That's probably because Heroes is easily the best of the lot. It's not a perfect show by any means-- some storylines seem to go nowhere, and the Niki character doesn't seem to fit in at all-- but I'm addicted nonetheless. It's one of the most fun shows on television. Ordinary people find out they have extraordinary powers, and they attempt to sort out what it all means, with interesting results.

Heroes is already engrossing, and it only figures to get better as more characters meet each other and the show finds its stride.

Simply a great concept for a show, and perfectly executed. Unlike so many other reality shows, the Amazing Race isn't about humiliating people or making them do disgusting things for money. It's a thrilling race around the globe, with some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere. It's an intense competition, with people performing challenging and often exhilarating tasks. It's about teamwork, with each person having to rely on his or her partner in order to cross the finish line. And it all adds up to great, fast-paced entertainment.

As long as we never see a Family Edition again, there's no reason the Amazing Race can't last plenty more seasons.

What's not to like about Supernatural? Two brothers travel the country, battling all sorts of extraordinary evils, while constantly busting each other's chops and rescuing a bevy of babes. I can't think of anything more I'd like to see in a TV show. Great acting by the two leads, and I'm constantly amazed by the outstanding writing, which seems to have gotten even better in season 2.

This is easily the most underrated show on television in recent memory. I can't help wondering how it would fare if it were on a more visible network than the CW. Either way, I hope it stays on the air for years to come.

I'll admit, I was very skeptical of the concept when I first heard about it however many years ago. People stranded on island, voting each other off? Who thinks of this?

But as soon as I tuned in to the first episode, I was hooked. It's the ultimate game of human psychology. What do people do when they're forced to fend for themselves, with the small matter of a $1 million jackpot for outlasting the rest? It's interesting to see what some people are capable of.

Aside from that, Survivor is just plain fun. Exciting challenges, tense tribal councils, and none of the normal cheap reality-TV stunts. I've seen every episode of all 13 seasons, and I'm still loving it.
