MY REVIEWS

  • show: Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog

    The Bottom Line: "Perfect"

Just look at the outline of the show, its outrageous. Sci-fi musical about an arch villain?! Who would have guessed it would be good, beyond as entertainment? I honestly think this is the best thing I have seen on TV in years!

The songs and music were surprisingly catchy. Everything about the acting was corny, but stylish. And the story? Wow! Smart and powerful. And I never actually found Nathan Fillion attractive, so that made it easy for me to like Dr. Horrible. An adorable misfit.

I really love the ending. It really hits you, as things seem to finally be going according to plan, he sings, "And I wont feel a thing."

  • show: Stargate SG-1

    episode: Stargate SG-1: Continuum

    The Bottom Line: "Perfect"

From the very first moments you can feel it, this is gonna be classic SG-1. This is gonna be a nostalgic ride. There couldn't be a more perfect opening scene.

The alternate timeline story was pleasantly twisted and didnt get boring, like they usually do when you know from the beginning that everything is gonna turn out fine. I was very pleased with the way things went in that area.

There were lots of great scenes, and lots of appearances from long past friends and enemies, which was much appreciated. It was refreshing.

And I really enjoyed seeing Claudia Black as Qetesh. I found her to be the most interesting character. Perhaps because she was the only new character. She was excellent nevertheless. We (or most of us) have seen her play fun and mischievous as Vala, serious and torn as Aeryn, and now dark and ruthless as Qetesh. Vala fans might be a bit disappointed, although one of her fews scenes was quite amusing, but Claudia Black fans are in for a treat.

My only complaint is Jack's screen time. I was expecting to see more of him. Jack had to be in this due to his history with Baal, but he didn't get the pleasure of fighting or bickering with him again. There was also a lack of screen time between Jack and Sam. I must admit I had high expectations in that area.

In the end, this is far better than The Ark of Truth, which I found to be like an average episode. But, if this was an episode of SG-1, it would be the absolute best! I cant wait to watch it again!

This will definitely be one of my new choices when I need an SG-1 fix. Whether I'm in the mood for a feel good episode, such as my current favorites; Evolution, Upgrades, and Prometheus Unbound. Or an action episode, along with my favorites The Serpent's Lair, The Lost City, and Camelot. Feeling so classic, but still having Claudia Black, Ben Browder, and Beau Bridges, it's also an ideal choice, no matter what era I'm in the mood for.

  • show: Bones

episode: The Pain in the Heart

    The Bottom Line: "Terrible"

Well, first of all, I dont care how they try to justify it, I dont think it was in Zack's character to kill someone, especially not premeditated. If Eric Millegan didnt want to be in the show anymore, there are lots of other ways to get rid of a character, ways that are believable. Also, it was rather disturbing to see that Booth's death wouldnt bother Bones much. She demanded that he care for her more, that he should have gone out of his way and broken protocol to tell her he was alive, but she didnt care enough to attend his funeral or even shed a tear. It made her seem extremely heartless and selfish. It also killed all shipping right there. There is no way that someone could love someone, but not cry when they die (not only the fact that she didnt cry, but she had almost completely moved on). I guess we can still ship, but without any reasonable hope. They managed to destroy two great characters in one episode, along with a good healthy ship. Seriously, what were they thinking?!

  • show: Moonlight

    episode: Fated to Pretend

    The Bottom Line: "Perfect"

I was a little worried when Mick told Beth that the cure would last maybe six months. Six months!? How can you have a vampire show without a vampire? But it turned out great. One episode for Mick to realize its better as a vampire. And the way it ws done...wow! It was perfect, turning back for Beth. It was quite the emotional moment as Josef turned him back....And hot! It was really nice to see the way Josef was effected. He acts like a hard ass, but its great to know he actually cares. But he was still funny in this episode. "Remember the tarpits." It really had everything that makes Moonlight great in this episode.

  • show: Jericho

    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

I still cant understand why this show couldnt stay on the air. It is amazing! Non-stop intrigue. You really have no clue what is going to happen next, and everything on such a large scale! Its not just about a small town in Kansas, its about the fate of the country! There is so much happening that it is never boring, and it is all relevant to the story, no pointless wondering. In the first season I was amazed enough with how they managed to keep off ppl like Jonah Prowse, Newbern, and Ravenwood. But in season two they were fighting a government that came to power by destroying 23 major American cities! How do you stand up to ppl like that? Well, a few ppl from Kansas hold their own.
