The theme of “Clothes Minded” is growing up. We all have to do it eventually, and Kim and Ron start preparing for life after high school. The young loves start sending in applications for colleges. Ron can’t understand why a star football running back is not having his door, while Kim is caught between her parents’ old colleges. And in a more dramatic turn of events, Kim’s choice of clothing has been discontinued, forcing her to find new mission wares. And through every carnation she tries, she ends up getting her butt kicked by Shego. That is until Rufus and Monique finally come up with the right fit for our red headed heroine, just in time to stop Drakken’s evil plan to merge all the continents together into one, “Drakkengia!”
The mission suits were definitely the main attractions in this episode. It was about time Kim changed her mission clothes any way, and the different choices were all very funny. First, there was Kim’s father who gave her something from out of the 1950s, some of kind bulky space suit. I loved his line about Kim’s mid drift. After that, there was the tweebs giving her a suit that I swear I once saw in a Mega Man X game. And then there was a purple molecular compound that Kim tried, that did not turn out so well. Finally she sets on a purple top, with black pants with matching purple strips. Not bad. It may take some getting use to for the fans, but I think it works. Most everything in this episode works, from the animation, to the jokes (Pangia), and the action. They only thing that bugged me was that Drakken and Shego were for some reason working back together again, with no explanation. Okay. Don’t get me wrong, their chemistry was as spot on as ever. But, I would have liked a better reason for them to work back together again then just for the heck of it. But despite that, the episode was wonderful, showing that our little couple is growing up and just getting better. And it was nice that Mr. Possible’s dream did come true after all.

Car Alarm

In “Car Alarm”, Kim goes car shopping after jelling over Bonnies’ new ride. But she quickly discovers that she can not afford one, so her dad lets her have his old one called “The Sloth”. After failing to get it to run, Kim agrees to let the Tweebs fix it. The result is a brand new, state-of-the-art, tricked out set of wheels. But unfortunately, Kim is now contractually obligated to drive them everywhere. Meanwhile, Motor Ed (John DiMaggio) breaks Shego out of prison and convinces her to join him and his mad wicked scheme, whatever that is. Actually, he steals a rocket from Kim’s father and turns it in to a rocket car, that when breaking to thresh hold speed, will leave a wake of chaos and destruction. Naturally, it is up to Kim, with a little help from her brothers, to put a stop to this.
For some reason, when I first watched this episode I didn’t like it. Maybe it was the mood I was in or something. But after watching it again, I truly appreciated what a good episode it was. First and foremost, it was the combo of Motor Ed and Shego. They were great to watch together. They could star in their own sitcom. I know that there is some Drakken/Shego fan fiction on the net, be give me Ed/Shego any day. Just the way the bounce of each other is fun to watch. And it is obvious that Ed likes Shego, but there was also an inkling of Shego liking Ed back. Sure she blasts him a lot, but she knows that he likes it, and she was willing to dress up for him in his master plan. By the way, she looked hot in her cheesy shut gun babe outfit. And Shegos’ ultimate role in his plan, has Moter Ed’s accessory, was shear brilliance. Here’s to more Ed and Shego in the future. The rest of the episode deals with Kim getting a new car. Tricked out by the tweebs, who weren’t that annoying in this one, the car becomes a super powered vehicle for Kimmie. The episode featured some really funny moments, included the birds, Kim’s revenge on Bonnie and J. P. Bearamore, and of course the rings. This has to be, so far, the greatest moment of the new season. There where a couple of negatives. I thought the space part was a little too stupid, and I thought Kim was just a little to bent out of shape in this episode. I mean, Ron had to be very understanding in this one, because he caught the brunt of most it. I guess when Kim is exposed to her brothers for to long, she gets that way. But, all in all, “Car Alarm” was nice a ride, filled with jokes, and some shippiness.

Grande Size Me

When Mr. Barkin begins to teach good eating habits to the kids of Middleton High, this forces Ron to rebel. Believing that it is all just a bunch of hype by the “man”, Ron start eating nothing but Bueno Nacho grande size meals, even starts a documentary called “Grande Size Me”. Of course Ron goes way too far and becomes hideously overweight. It gets worse when he is exposed to some HenchCo. Chemicals and it turns him into a rampaging monster. It’s up to Kim and the Tweebs to save Ron and turn him back into his old self. Basically, “Grande Size Me” is a one joke episode; Ron becomes the Hulk! And while the joke does give a few laughs, unfortunately the lead up to it is hard to watch. I don’t like episodes where Ron acts completely out of character, and in the episode Ron was completely insane. His food addiction is so intense, that he acts like a drug addict. And that is where the episode losses me, because I don’t know about you but I don’t think an addiction is very funny. He eats without thinking of the consequences, believing that he is 100% in the right, and snaps at everyone and everything. Not so funny. Ok, The Hulk stuff was pretty fun, especially the “Ron Smash” phrases. But in the end, the one joke doesn’t make up for the rest of the episode. Another disappointing thing was that they had almost all of the show’s villains and did next to nothing with them. On a side note, it was cool seeing Gemini again. Too bad he didn’t say anything. I guess the episode kind of works as a message episode, don’t eat like a big jerk or you will turn into a giant mechanic, or something like that. “Grande Size Me” made me want to go on a diet.

Mad Dogs and Aliens
Avg Score: 9.55    Total Ratings: 53    Total Reviews: 10
Dr. Drakken finally steps into the spotlight in “Mad Dogs and Aliens” . In it, the doc is sprung out of jail by an alien named Warmonga (Kristen Johnson), who believes that he is the answer to a prophecy. Drakken then tricks her into believing that he is indeed the legendary “Great Blue”. With Warmonga at his side, Drakken seeks revenge on both Shego, the sidekick who abandoned him, and Kim, his arch nemesis. In a sub story, Ron retires as the Mad Dog, only to have his mantel taken by Jim and Tim. The Tweebs become the new school mascots “The Pet Puppies.” Of course, Ron is buggin’. This was an action packed episode. As a matter of fact, this may be the most violent Kim Possible episode yet. Warmonga is the most physically dangerous villain the show has seen. Part ditsy bimbo, part killer alien Amazon, Warmonga was passing out several beat downs to both Kim and Shego. I was really digging her as Drakken’s new sidekick. Warmonga is sexy, threatening and pretty funny. But then they had to ruin the ride with a lame ending, in which the tweebs saved the day by poising as the great blue. The Alien ditches Drakken and speeds of into space in her spaceship. Speaking of Jim and Tim, it seems like they are pushing them more and more into the act, just like Haley is in “American Dragon: Jake Long”. That is a tricky proposition, because siblings of heroes can be easily hated. The main reason, is because usually their job is to make the main character look bad, or just annoy the heck out of them; so hopefully the audience won’t collectable gag on the tweebs. Ron mean while grew up a little in this episode. Now that his mad running away skills have made him the star running back on the football team, he had to step down as the Middleton Mad Dog. After flipping out over Jim and Tim becoming the new mascots, he eventually accepts them. He even gives them his foam. Way to go Ron. Some parents maybe a little upset with edginess in this episode. No doubt, they will notice the mud fight between Kim and a barely clothed Shego. Not to mention the brutality of Warmonga. Speaking of the she alien, I don’t think we have seen the last of her. Is it possible she and her race of aliens will invade the Earth? Or maybe Kim will have to team up with Shego to save the world? I guess we will have to wait and see. Also we saw the return of the battle suit with a cool new feature. Can you say Invisible Woman? The bad ending docks a few points, but “Mad Dogs and Aliens” delivers like right cross to the jaw.

The Cupid Effect
Avg Score: 9.26    Total Ratings: 58    Total Reviews: 10
Love is in the air in “The Cupid Effect”. Wade (Tahj Mowry) is big time crushing on Monique (Raven-Symone), but of course she is not having any of it. So Wade develops a love ray that makes Monique fall head over heels in love with him. But then Senor Senior Senior (Ricardo Montalban) steels the devise and uses it to make women all over the world fall in love with his son Junior, turning him into an inter-national pop sensation. Of course, KP has to set thing right.
To me, this is the funniest episode of the season so far. I nearly fell out of my seat laughing the first time Wade used the “Cupid Ray” on Monique. Then I did fall out of my seat laughing when Senor Senoir Senior was reading the fake love card to Wades’ mom. It is always great to hear Ricardo Montuban talking like Khan from Star Trek. Check that, it’s just great to hear Ricardo Montalban period. Not only is this a Valentine’s Day episode, but it also pays tribute to Black History Month in its’ own way. If you noticed, the stars of the episode were the two black characters, Wade and Monique. Tahj did a nice job showing us another side of Wade; while Raven stole the show has hypnotized Monique. And the end, Wade gets his just deserts. With plenty of laughs to go around, “The Cupid Effect” delivers has a funny holiday episode. It’s right up there with “A Very Possible Christmas”. Some may find it to be a little weird, but in the words of Kim, I like weird.
