my journey towards world conquest...yep

So I was looking at some ads for the new Civilization: Revolution game, and it kind of spurred my interest in similar games.

It got me looking at all these series:

Civilization series

Total War series

Empire Earth series

Age of Empires series

So....yea...lots of series. You'd be surprised to know, however, that I have not played a single game from any of these series .

Civilization looks a little too cartoony for my liking, i'm looking for something a little more realistic. Empire Earth looks like it has been recieving steadily declining reviews since the original. Total War looks like an epic series. And from what i've seen and heard, Age of Empires is top-of-the-line.

So my question to you guys is: what games from these series are the best/and what series are the best overall? I'm not made of money (contrary to popular belief ) so its not like i can go out and buy the box set of each series.

Whattya think?

Oh sweet nostalgia...

So i've been debating whether or not to spend money on a replacement power supply for my old SNES, as well as these games:

The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past

Donkey Kong Country

Super Mario World

Secret of Mana

Why would I do this? Well...recently i've been having this urge to play all these games from years and years ago when i first bought them, but over the years i've lost a lot of the parts/games that were a part of it. So i've been looking online at places to buy these things. The only place that i've found selling them (that i trust) is Amazon...and its looking like $20 for the cord and each of the games.

Anyone know of any trusted cites you can buy old games and accessories like this?
