American Idol 6

OK, so blake is by far the most interesting person on season 6. He is unique and has a clear style that is modern and hip. Unlike the other 3 that are left. Seriously, the last 3 girls could be the same person. They all have big voices and sing similar songs. Only Jordin has tried to go outside the R&B/Gospel thing. Still do we need another Whitney or Mariah Wannabe or the charts. NO WAY....Melinda isn't cool enough to have a modern album. To me she sounds and looks like a black Bette Midler. Which I think is cool, but I have the feeling the only chart she will be hitting is the Urban Adult R&B chart or the Dance Chart if her songs have remixes.

Jordin reminds me of Kimberly Locke, but just younger. BORING.. And Latiska is just as boring.

Vote for Blake...

anyway, if blake gets voted off at #4 Im going to get real mad. During Season 2 and 3 my favorite got voted off, Josh Gracin and Latoya London. That is why I stopped watching American Idol during season 4 and 5.

Plus Reuben and Fantasia are bombs...Josh Gracin, Jennifer Hudson, and Kimberly Locke has had true success compare to season 2 and 3.

And look at poor Taylor Hicks, so far the has the lowest sales for american idol winner. Yet Chris is doing so much better.

The only time American got it right was Season 1 and 4....but then again look how america voted during the last election in 2004...sigh...

Primetime Soaps!

After all this years, I must say I still love primetime soaps. I also love the new era of primetime soaps. the dramedy. I mean almost every drama now is a primetime soap, but the great part is you are supposed to laugh unlike, when you laughed at Dynasty.

Ugly Betty is by far my favorite show since the 1st season of Housewives.

Arrested

So I haven't gotten my Melrose place box sets....I know shameful. But instead i got Arrested Develpment Season 3, The O.C season 3, and Weeds season 1.

I started to get my boyfriend involved in Arrested Development. So much fun!

I have never been a fan of Charles pratt jr. Everytime I seen his name on a show I cringe. When He took over Melrose Place during the mid's 90's the show wasn't fun anymore. It was all about plot and not the characters. However, due to the success of Melrose Place he gets Models Inc and Titans. Which could have been 100% better without him. He doesn't understand that the reason why people watch a show is because of character development not cliche plot twists. Hence why Knots Landing lasted all the other soaps of the 80's. Character Development. And Why Dynasty was the first to go out of the main 4. But i guess he never got that memo.

Whoever decided that Bee Gee night was a good idea should be fired. The Bee Gee's style and voice is so specific and unqiue that it's hard for anyone to copy their style, let alone do anything unique to it.

NONE of the top four was very good, (I LOVE BLAKE, but he wasn't good). All four of them got at least one bad review by the judges. Jordin and Melinda both choose either safe songs or very boring ones. Blake tried to do something special but it fell apart. And Laskia wasn't very good at all. I think just a simple disco night would have worked. Or maybe called it dance and they could have expanded their choices to some of the 90's dance music as well. Either way, the whole show was flat and boring.

I loved this show! I wasn't too much of a fan of the reworked verison that came out in summer of 1996. But the 1st half was killer. The plots were great and not so over the top like Melrose had gotten. I loved the whole New York locale and the richness of the characters. Carrie is by far one of all time favorite characters in prime time soap history. And that is saying alot. I wish this show would come out on DVD because in the U.S they didn't show 3-4 shows, because it got pulled and they started with the reworked verison. Which the only plus that I liked about it was that it gave Lauren Hutton much more to do.

The jokes and the pace of the pilot makes this a classic. In some regards, there is nothing out of the box as for storylines. (Think Classic Soaps) Yet, Michael centers the show into reality and rest becomes comedy. I can see why people "didn't get it" because half of the jokes are not in your face. It seems I catch something new each time by watching it. As for the cast it's genius. Jason Bateman's rules my world in this show as does his mother and sister. This first one got me hook. That is why i have all 3 seasons.

Honestly I think this show is fun. It's not great and its no Dallas, Melrose Place, or Knots Landing. Fashion House is cliche but thats the fun of it. Its just plain trashy. CatFights, Sex, One liners, Divas, Sex, anything you would fine in trashy novel. The only problem is that is hard to make a commited to watching a show five nights a week. I love me some daytime tv, but I can't watch soaps every day of the week. I do have a life. But the show continues to give you flashblacks that you can't get lost. So I think this show is fun and worth the 10 because its not supposed to be classy.
