Once every now and then in 24, a surprise occurs that totally renews our faith in the show. It's a well known fact that 24 has the occasional episode that exists simply as a segueway into the next storyline, and while these episodes contain less action and suspense, its episodes like this that remind us what a good show looks like.

Sutherland's acting in it was superb. He truly has taken Bauer's character to the next level, giving him more human characteristics.. We've seen Jack act like a human as opposed to a one man terrorist killing machine before (In all seasons, Jack has reacted emotionally to the deaths of his friends and family, as well as the stress of the days events). However, in this episode, with the death of Curtis, he completely reinvents the character.

I'm very interested in how Fayed's plan with the "visitors" will pan out, what will happen with Wayne's sister, and most of all: how will Jack's family incorporate in all of this? While it's useless to claim this season is "better" already then the others, I'll say this: It certainly hasn't gotten worse. this episode proves that 24 is still one of the most intense television shows of all time.

Lost truly is a force to be reckoned with on television. I was having doubts about this season after the last four have dragged along, revealing very little. They raised some conflict between Pickett and Sawyer, and revealed a little about the Others, but other then that, I wasn't that interested. However, with this episode, the writers have reintroduced the "smoke monster", as well as bringing in a new element: The Others that want to rebel against Ben.

One upside to the episode was that there was no Sawyer/Kate storyline. Nearly every episode so far this season has contained some sort of storyline with the two characters, and to be honest, I've grown sick of it. I could care less whether or not Sawyer and Kate hook up. I did, however, love the conflict that they will be setting up between Jack/Juliet and Ben. I thought the video that Juliet made for Jack to reveal her true intentions was creative, and when we find out that they want to rebel against Ben, I realized that this was the perfect setup for the midseason finale. I've read several reviews, and posts on the forums that this episode dragged on, and that it wasn't that exciting. On the contrary, I believe it did ANYTHING but drag on. The whole Eko storyline helped reveal the last few things that we needed to know about him, and was actually quite interesting. It was nice to see Eko on the offensive again, protecting himself and killing those men who came into the church. When he died, I found it to be very touching. I found it ironic that the hallucination of his brother was what ultimatly lead to his death. What an ending.. However, I found the whole "You're next" line to be quite pointless, seeing as it probably doesn't mean a thing. Just something Eko said in the midst of passing from this world to the next. Also, the face that Locke and the others saw in the hatch is quite interesting. I'm excited to see where they go with that. In my honest opinion, best episode of the season. Oh yeah, those two new characters don't impress me too much.. Just two more static, straightforward characters.

When the Pilot episode of Lost aired, I had only heard a few things about the show.. I had seen the commercial and decided that it looked alright. I didn't know whether or not to watch it. So, on the day the first episode aired, I turned the TV on five minutes prior, remembering that it was going to be playing, and watched the first hour of the pilot. That first hour was all it took for me to get hooked. After that, I was an avid fan.

The second hour is a fine continuation of the first hour of the pilot. The whole episode was making me gasp in excitement, and at the same time, laugh at the humor of some of the characters, such as Hurley, Charlie and Sawyer.

I loved the whole transciever plot with Sayid and the others.. I love cliffhanger episodes, and with Lost, it seems like just about every episode leaves you hanging (except for the occasional episode that ends with music montages).

Overall, this was the perfect episode to get somebody hooked to the show.

From the second that Jack opens his eyes to the very last seconds of the episode, I found this to be one of the most riveting pilots to ever air (except for 24 and The Shield). As soon as Jack opens his eyes and realizes what's going on, you're hooked. You can't keep your eyes off of the TV.

The first thing that impressed me about the show was how they could have so many characters and still have a backstory to every single one of them so that you could actually feel as if you know them. They never focused one just one character (well, maybe Jack, since he's sort of the "leader" of the island).

The second thing that hit me about it was that something always seemed to be happening. There was never any moment when it just showed people sitting around, doing nothing. There was always something that needed taking care of, or something to do.

Watching this episode back, I consider it a classic TV episode.. Never has the premiere of a show looked so good.

I was excited to see this episode, mostly because the whole "plane getting hijacked by Jack" seemed as if it was going to be thrilling and intense and just all out chaos. While it was intense, it was just a slightly above average episode in my eyes. However there were many strong points

Strong Points:
-I loved the Martha/Mike scenes.. they showed how hard it is for her to keep the secret about her husband.

-Buchannan's little quote to Miles lmao, calling him an ass kisser, that was classic Buchannan

-The whole taser business with Chloe was pretty cool too

-The plane scenes

Weak Points:
There were a few, but not enough to go extensively into.

Overall, a good episode that looks like it'll get better over the next three episodes
