It is my dad's 50th birthday today so we are having a big party! should be fun! i ordered a big photo cake with his face on lol

So thats what i am going to be doing tonight partying like it's 1999 as they say!

I was bored so i downloaded a Super Nintendo Emulator and games to play on my PC, and the file was 1.6 Gig which i though was pretty big considering they are only SNES games, but when they downloaded it was in a file type called .7z in order to unzip them i quickly downloaded the free 7zip program and proceeded to unzip the Super Nintendo file, it looked like it was going to take a while so i went away from the computer to watch some TV (Scrubs ) and i came back when i heard the unzip finished sound, and to my surprise, the file size went from 1.6 Gig to bloody 19.5 Gig!! My computer is lacking space as it is, never mind another 19 Gig of crap dumped on it lol.

But i was also amazed at how good the compression is on the 7zip program, packing 19 Gig into 1.6 Gig is pretty amazing if you ask me, considering Winzip and WinRar would only have packed 19.5 Gig into about 19 Gig they are rubbish

Anyway i sorted through them and alot of them were all in Japanese with no translation hacks so i just deleted them and it is now down to a more smaller size of 3.6 Gig still massive i know!, but i have been playing some quality old school RPG's, Star Ocean, Seiken Densetsu 3 aka Secret of Mana 3, Mario RPG, AD&D Eye of the Beholder, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma! awesome stuff!

........For DUCKS!! it's p!ssing down here at the minute, and apparently we are going to get a months worth of rain fall in 2 days!! eeek better getter get the dingy out! it's supposed to be summer for gods sake! it was really nice weather this morning and now this!

But on a good note, i had the day off work today so i went to visit my parents as i have not seen them since before my birthday, and also my gran who i have not seen in months, My gran gave me some money! ahh good old granny knows what Dave likes lol, and also my parents bought me an awesome new Scanner/Printer combo, as my printer sucks and takes about 20 minutes to print a photograph on the highest setting and scanner takes about 10 minutes to scan something! My new one is awesome, i have strayed away from Scanner/Printer combo's in the past, mainly because the ink was so damn expensive, im talking like £20 for a cartridge, and you need Black, Blue, Yellow and Magenta, so your talking £60 just for ink, but my dad found a private computer shop that sells the set of all 4 for £5.50! now we are talking!

And it is my dad's 50th on the 18th and i am making him a 50 years of his life photo album, and it was taking forever to scan the pictures and then i was going to go to a camera shop and print them, which would not have been cheap, but now i have my new Scanner/Printer combo that scans and prints in photograph lab quality in approximatly 20-30 seconds! which is a hell of alot quicker than 30 minutes lol

Also on a good note, i managed to get my dad's 50th birthday present sorted, i got him the mobile phone he has been after, the Sony Ericsson K800i Cybershot, used to be £150, but managed to find it in a sale for £79.99 and he gets £20 free credit added to his balance 10 days after his birthday! so i think i got a good deal there! and i went to a little flea market today in a place called Hartlepool and i managed to pick up two PS2 games that i have been wanting to try for ages but have not wanted to spend alot of money on them incase i did not like them, they were 'Oni' and 'Juiced' they were only £1 each! so even if they are rubbish i still get two new drinks coasters and spare game cases lol but i have heard good things about 'Oni' though.

Got myself the Contributor of the Millenium emblem today! these emblems are coming in think and fast! shiny shiny shiny!! lol

Gotta go to work now though, for 10 hours! ahhh woe is me! and if you have read my blogs before you will know that i have been waiting for my holiday pay from work from when i went to Finland in March, i was promised this holiday pay was going to be in my bank this week, as it is my dad's 50th birthday on the 18th, and low and behold, it was not there again! i am soooooooooooooo p!ssed off right now!

I went to see the movie 'Wanted' at the cinema tonight, and it's one of the best movies i have seen this year! great story and great action, and James McAvoy was brilliant, funny aswell, and Jolie was as hot as ever

Oh and where the hell are all the mods?? last week when i was contributing stuff for show guides e.t.c. they got moderated in a matter of seconds at times, sometime only upto an hour, it has been over 24 hours now since i last contributed stuff and i am still waiting!! is it because the site may be jeopardy like Gamespot, are they on strike or is it just because it is the summer? whatever it is they don't seem to be around as much this week and the end of last week!
