The first episode really hits you with a lot of characters, and a lot of information. Its true that this show will take much time to develop, but after the first episode, I am very willing to keep watching. The Free Planets Alliance is sending yet another fleet towards the Imperial Fortress Iserlohn in an attempt to break the stalemate in the 150 year war. The nearest Imperial Fleet capable of intercepting the invasion is commanded by Reinhard von Lohengramm who is outnumbered two to one. That is the first episode in short. The characters are very well done, the music is great and the space battles are fun too. This show shines in the interactions between its characters. A great beginning to a great show.

War, a huge cast, and show that ran for 110 episodes from 1988 to 1998 with a few movies tossed in just sounds like any other long and old show but after seeing a few episodes of it, Legend of the Galactic Heroes proves to be way different and way better than previous shows like it. Legend of the Galactic Heroes visuals look very dated now but if you can get past that (I did quickly) then you will open yourself up to the best classic of animes time. Its a sci-Fi/drama that has great characters and amazing stories that focus around love, war and conquest. The ships are pleasant to the eye as they fly around in space and fight in battles and the opening and endings are relaxing too and they help set the tone for the show. Full of mysteries and rife with plot lines and deep character development, Legend of the Galactic Heroes should not be missed by any anime fan but sadly it was never released here and it is very hard to find but try and then you'll see what I'm talking about.

I liked episode 2 more than 1. It has some really good parts to it and it gets you into the story. There is a scene when two of the main characters are eating in a noodle house and the scene is handled with great care and the resulting is the viewer feeling for one of the characters as wonders what he will ever want with his life. We also meet a new character that will surely play a role in future episodes. Episode 2 of Honey & Clover proves this show is revving up and it won't slow down. Great episode.

I must say that even though I love Honey & Clover the first episode could have been a little better in my opinion. The reason I say this is because they hit you with so many jokes and bizarre things when you really just want to know what is going on here. Nonetheless the first episode is a good introduction to an excellent show. Full of laughs and a small storyline, episode 1 leaves you wanting for another. Good.

Honey & Clover is not know by too many anime fans but it should be. Although it has not been released here in the US yet people should really get into this one. Honey & Clover is a love/comedy/drama anime that centers mainly around 5 characters. 3 of the characters are young men and 2 are women. All the characters are attending an art collage in Japan. The main character is Takemoto who is in his sophomore year. Another big character in the show is Hagu, a short 18 year old girl that looks like a little kid. The story revolves around the 5 characters as they fall in and out of love. The show is at its best when it centers around Takemoto and how he doesn't know what he wants to really do with his life. The show has a lot of laughs but it can turn and get serious too. The comedy is another strong aspect, as the jokes actually go along with the plot and they are well planned out. The show is targeted to an older audience but if you are under 16 and smart the plot will make sense to you. The last strong point of Honey & Clover is its animation. The animation is very well done and though it may turn some viewers away, it can really draw you into the story more than your normal anime animation can. The only thing that will really turn people away from the show is the lack of action but besides that Honey & Clover hits a high mark for what it does and it does it very well. Excellent show. Highly recommended.
