    The Bottom Line: "Superb"

As the series continues and with each director change also comes a change in scenery and the travels of Easy Company. While this episode deals with Operation Market Garden. While this was one biggest Airborne Operations in history, Easy Company part was limited to their area of deployment and didn't suffer the casualties that their British Counterpart suffered. I like the fact that it was pointed out that even at the time some Allied Forces are a Rules Of Engagement orders. In this episode it shows how it cost them their lives and a quick swift victory. It also shows how tight of a group easy company was in terms of treating their replacements. In most units it was a same thing when new recruits have no time to learn (including officers) and gets killed before learning on how to survived.

    The Bottom Line: "Great"

I am guessing with all the technology, one thing remains constant, the fragile nature of the human body. While some things kills us in an instant others kill us slowly. In this episode the fleet faces three. The usual one if the Cylons find them and wipe them out swiftly with nukes and blasts. The other is one we were made aware of in previous episodes but didn't really get into. The process of starvation and the slow lingering effects it has on people. The third is radiation. While some people are more immune to others, it eventually kills us all. This one episode does combine all thise threats quite nicely in one storyline and decisions made. There is dramatic sequences but very few action sequences.

    The Bottom Line: "Fair"

Review this episode must have been one of the hardest for me to do. I really didn't like this episode in fact it was one of the few I would have skipped. Other than the boxing matches there was really no action in this episode. A lot of the sequences was in flash backs to events that happened sometime in the final episode of the season finale. While the idea of Military Boxing is always been part of history, to mix it up between the character development and love stories, it was hard to get really into the storyline like other episodes.

    Another 1000/1000

Finally finished Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga on the 360 with 100 percent completion. That netted me the last achievement I needed for the game, which was worth a whopping 100 GS. Funny, though, the achievement was glitched, and I had to play through another chapter again for it to unlock. It reminded me of when I got the 100 percent completion achievement in Bully. I had to restart the game for it to unlock.

Anyway, I'm quite glad that I got this game out of the way, finally. Talk about a tedious game! It was also glitched somewhat badly, making everything worse. So everything's done in the game, and all the achievements are locked. This means I get this!

    Fracture: First Impressions...and it's a good one!

I had some hands on time with...*drum rolls*...Fracture!

Sadly this game isn't being hyped as I thought it would and I am very disappointed because of that. Fracture is a surprisingly good game!

I didn't spend much time with it because the game isn't mine, but I did manage to put an hour or two into the gameplay and I plan to play some more tomorrow.

    f

The first thing I noticed after the opening cutscene and the gameplay began was the graphics...it was superb! It looks almost identical to Star Wars: TFU...not surprising because the game is from LucasArts. The physics engine is flawless...this is something I thought I would never see in game, for example depending on the steepness of a slope, your ascent will be slower or decent faster.

Almost everthing in the environment in interactable. Changing terrains using your weapons works really well and I was amazed at how effective that system works...speaking of weapons, don't get me started, the various weapons kick ass! My favorite so far is the torpedo gun, which launches a torpedo into the ground and then you can detonate it.

The gameplay is really good. Most of the battles so far were in huge open areas. Probably later on there will be some confined spaces for firefights. The only thing about the gameplay that's bad is there is no 'cover' system like Gears of War. You can take cover in various ways but it's but as simple as Gears.

On the down side I did encounter some stupid AI, sometimes enemies run and take cover and sometimes, they just stand open in one place and shoot. Another thing about the AI is that it's predictable, enemies taking cover will not often change their locations or line of fire (like the enemies in Gears), so you can easily pick them off.

Even though I still have to put some hours into Frcture to make a final decision, from what I've played the game is actually quite good and I enjoyed it a lot. I predict GS will give it a score of 8.0 or 8.5

    Now Playing

It's been a busy month for me with school, and I haven't had as much time as I usually do for games. But here's a quick rundown of what I've been up to:

My second Xbox 360 suffered its inevitable red-ring last week in the middle of a particularly productive game of Braid. I'm not a huge fan of the game, mostly because I don't think it warranted a $15 price point and I find some of the puzzles unfairly designed, but I'm determined to finish it. Before the red-ring fiasco, I kept myself busy with Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise and Rock Band 2. They're both ideally suited for quick play sessions during study breaks.

On the PlayStation front, the game I've been waiting for since buying the system finally launched last week. WipEout HD is basically a best-of compilation from WipEout Pure and Pulse on the PSP, but the amazing visuals and sound make it well worth the $20 price tag.

I'd made a decision not to download any new games for the Wii until Nintendo devised a solution to their storage problem. Their "taking stuff out of your fridge" angle was ridiculous, and I wasn't going to give them any more of my money until they opened up the SD slot. Then I noticed that I still had 150 blocks of space left, which was just enough room for Mega Man 9 and Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars. Mega Man II was one of my favorite games as a kid, when I obviously had much more patience for games. Mega Man 9 is killing me, and I'm loving every minute. Super Mario RPG was also a favorite, and it's just as fun to play now as it was back on the SNES.

I'm trying to play Lego Batman on my PSP, but it has this minor bug where the game won't actually load past the title screen. Given the fact that the game case insert says Lego Batman is two UMDs, I'm guessing they didn't put all that much effort into the PSP port.

I'm also fairly disappointed with Kirby Super Star Ultra on the DS. I never played the original SNES version, but I'm a huge Kirby fan and assumed that Super Star would be much like its DS predecessors. I find the experience too disjointed, and each minigame lacks enough substance for me to want to replay it. It's unfocused, directed at a younger audience even moreso than previous games, and it just isn't as fun to play as any other Kirby game.
