QUESTION and SONG OF THE DAY!

Question of the Day:

People break down into two groups when they experience something lucky. Group number one sees it as more than luck, more than coincidence. They see it as a sign, evidence, that there is someone up there, watching out for them. Group number two sees it as just pure luck. Just a happy turn of chance. I'm sure the people in Group number two are looking at those fourteen lights in a very suspicious way. For them, the situation isn't fifty-fifty. Could be bad, could be good. But deep down, they feel that whatever happens, they're on their own. And that fills them with fear. Yeah, there are those people. But there's a whole lot of people in Group number one. When they see those fourteen lights, they're looking at a miracle. And deep down, they feel that whatever's going to happen, there will be someone there to help them. And that fills them with hope. See what you have to ask yourself is what kind of person are you? Are you the kind that sees signs, sees miracles? Or do you believe that people just get lucky? Or, look at the question this way: Is it possible that there are no coincidences? (From Signs)

WHAT GROUP ARE YOU IN????

Song of the Day:

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THE SONG????

Back from Maine

I had a wonderful time visiting some old friends and exploring many of the towns in Maine, specifically Portland. I've never been to such a clean city - no signs of trash or litter on any streets whatsoever, residents taking so much pride in their city. It was inspiring, to say the least. Photo below is of a statue located right downtown.

LobsterMan

Before I had left, Hell's Kitchen had its finale and sure enough Christina won. So I guess there will be no consoling her and no chance of her being the future Mrs. Junky. She went from being unemployed to making $250,000 a year in a matter of seconds. Truly remarkable.

There has been so very little on television that is even worth watching that I often find myself simply throwing in a movie if time permits. I've also been trying to study up on movies as Joey's Movie Quiz Meltdown (Click) is a very fun (but also very challenging) game. But a big shout out to him for creating it. Results of the 1st round will be posted tomorrow, I think. Everyone root for me!

It was actually so hot up in Maine that while I was there 2 of the days, the temperature with the humidity had Portland register a higher temperature than Miami, Florida. This didn't make Junky happy, but it was all good in many ways. One of those days a friend and I went to see Hancock. Let me preface by saying that I had no desire to see the movie, but my friend is a Will Smith fanatic so I went along with it. It is by no means a BAD film, but it is damn close.

I have purchased 12:01 AM IMAX tickets for Friday's first showing of The Dark Knight. I cannot wait! I'm going to guarantee that Heath Ledger will win an Oscar for his performance. You heard it here first. I'm trying to wonder if any other award winner in the 4 main acting categories ever won an award post-humously. Hmm.

Well, just wanted to say hello and that I am back from my little vacation and hope all of you have been doing great!

XOXO Junky

Finally... A Vacation

Well, it was bound to happen sometime prior to the return of Haley's Comet. I am off for vacation (holiday I believe is the proper phrase to those in other Countries) tomorrow for 4 whole days. Trust me, this is a small miracle of sorts for me. I just cannot wait to arrive safely, enjoy seeing some old friends, exploring a new place, and relaxing. So, where am I going? I thought you'd never ask! Here is a photo of where I'll be staying:

Portland1

Which is just outside of Portland, Maine. I'm going to eat fresh lobster every meal, go whale watching, and I'm not even taking my work phone or anything 'technical' with me. If anyone around me mentions the word synergy or client, I may just be taking an exceedingly longer vacation at the expense of the federal government.

Here is a general map of Portland, for all of you that may not know where it is:

Maine

So, I hope all of you have a marvelous few days. I leave tomorrow morning very early (July 9th) American Eastern Standard Time and will be returning on Sunday, July 13th.

Until then, youse guys and gals behave yourselves.

XOXO Junky

Australia

Being that so very many wonderful people here are from or about to visit Australia, I simply had to throw in this quick blog before a short hiatus which features a movie to be released here in the United States in November.

CHECK OUT THIS TRAILER

Question:

Does this look like a movie you would want to see?

8.8 Great
Lost

Avg Score: 9.66    Total Ratings: 786    Total Reviews: 45
Well, the finale aired with a bang last night, in typical LOST fashion - a few answers solved, some big surprises along the way and a killer ending. It also has one of my favorite scenes ever in the show's history - when Sayid and Keamy fought, it was choreographed wonderfully and the entire shot was adrenaline fueled. If you have yet to see the episode, I do not want to ruin anything for you, so I would advise that you stop reading here, as the spoilers will be a-comin'. 1. Locke was indeed the man in the coffin whom we first saw from last Season's Finale 'Through The Looking Glass.'

2. Hurley playing chess with an invisible Mr. Eko was wonderful.3. Ben (the flawless Michael Emerson) did such a tremendous job of keeping things together and giving the best performance of his character as of yet. The way he shot Keamy was brilliant, and I loved his nonchalant attitude about the whole thing.

4. Jack is still a moron. Locke told Jack that he needed to stay on the island and that, if he were to leave, that 'it would eat away at Jack from the inside out' for the remaining days of his life. As always, Locke was correct and Jack couldn't be more wrong.5. Good seeing Walt. Too bad he is 7 foot tall now and is about to turn 75 in real life. 6. The whole 'moving the island' scene was really out of this world. Seriously. 7. So Charlotte, according to the Asian Ghost-buster, had been to the island before this time around? Interesting. So, all in all, the show's 3 hour finale was pretty darn good. The first hour didn't do much for me, but the 2nd and 3rd hours were done very well. Any of you who would like to share your thoughts, please do. I realize that most LOST fans absolutely refuse to rate an episode any lower than a 9.5 (which is ridiculous) because you can never really tell what episodes excel from others. So I challenge the reviewers of this episode to actually rate it appropriately. I was entertained by the finale, and a lot of speculation now surrounds what will happen come next February when the show resumes - time travel has obviously come into play (there is no mistaken that), Locke and all of the people who left the island 'must return together' according to Ben, even though Locke is dead (a possible resurrection for him?), and, of course, what is Aaron's role in this whole story. I'll be tuning in.

10.0 Perfect
JB Smoove
Avg Score: 9.65    Total Ratings: 6    Total Reviews: 1
JB Smoove has literally taken Hollywood by storm. Ever since his recurring role as the scene-stealing Leon Black from Season 6 of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm,' JB has enhoyed tremendous (and very well deserved) accolades, including being cast as the recurring characters Manny in 'Everybody Hates Chris' and Kenny in 'Til Death.' He also is about to release his very own show, which will be a web exclusive to begin airing by the end of 2008. Quite simply put, the man has a wonderful knack for comedic timing and can easily be placed very high on the list of the best comedians on television today.

The first hour of the two part finale was amazing. Perhaps the absolute best hour of television thus far this year. I was so blown away by the story, the questions, House's behaviour, you name it. When he overdosed on the Alzheimer's medication I couldn't help thinking that this was perhaps my favorite House episode ever. Then Monday's part two happened, and, with it, the finale took a huge turn for the worse. It just didn't even compare to the first hour, and the whole hour felt rushed and sloppy. You would think that with the content of the episode that any viewer would have been emotionally moved by the episode, but I wasn't at all. Still, that first hour was tops.

I have a feeling that probably a lot of people liked the finale. I am not one of those people. The whole Angela - Andy thing is just not entertaining at all. I don't know how much longer the show is going to put off finishing the storyline between Pam and Jim. I thought for sure that Jim was going to propose in the episode. But, of course not. The end scene with Phyllis walking in on Dwight and Angela doing the horizontal mamba was predictable and dull, in my very worthless opinion. This whole season was bad. Season Two of this show was hysterical, and it has been a downhill slide since then. Not sure what I think about this show anymore.

Well, it is official. This show, once one of my absolute favorites, has turned awful. This episode was its last chance for me. Billie (the dreadful Alyssa Milano) cannot act, Jon Heder (from 'Napoleon Dynamite' fame) was a terrible choice for a cameo, and the entire episode felt forced and fell far below even my rather low expectations. I will always have the 1st and 2nd Seasons on DVD to enjoy, but I am going to pretend (may take a lot of alcohol, but I'll make it) that this entire 3rd Season never existed. I have NEVER seen a show fade so drastically in a 3 Season time frame. Such a shame that this show has come to this. However, the SAME thing happened with the creator of this shows prior show, the dreadful from the beginning 'Yes, Dear.' Like I said, the first 2 Seasons of this show were amazing and smart - for this to happen in one season is an atrocity.

a fairytale?

This is another Naley movie.. I just took photos from the show and edit it into a movie which tells the story of Naley. (I don't quite pleased with the result, but I got tired of it, so I just uploaded it as it is..)
