Pretty good episode, I was glad to see Ellie as always and see an episode featuring her. This one focused on her relationship with Jessie, who as a person I am liking less and less as the weeks go by. (however good-looking Steve Belford may be)It was also great to see Caitlin again, but that greatness abruptly ended when seeing her saddled onto Jessie half naked at the school. Not the best move for a so-called professional who is quite a few years older than him--however, Jessie did nothing to inform her that he was dating her former protege. Cue review.........

ELLIE/JESSIE/CAITLIN: A surprising triangle, I must admit that I did not see this one coming (was it because I didn't look for it?) and just confirmed what I was beginning to feel all along: Jessie simply is better off not being there. I personally wasn't really given any reason to really like him, and was hoping they would take his story farther so that maybe I could actually invest some type of interest in him as a character. But they didn't really take his character far enough for their breakup to really impact me. The only thing I did get from it was Ellie deciding to go with the more important thing for her right now---her career, thus the newspaper, not the boyfriend. Maybe that was the point of their whole relationship, for Ellie to realize she was happier by herself than in a relationship where she wasn't truly respected. Paige's advice to her follows up on her actions in LIAB, and I suppose that is the going theme for our graduates this year; making something of themselves and becoming independent: free of parents AND the need to be in a relationship--because
face it, Ellie didn't really need him, and there wasn't really anything there. As a writer, I'm glad she went for her passion and stuck with the writing instead of ending up with regrets. The interesting thing to me though, wa show quickly Ellie let herself go there with the alcohol, and it disappointed me to see her blow this opportunity. I know it'll be harder for her now to be taken seriously, but calling Caitlin a slut in front of everyone was both hilarious and shocking to hear it, because wrong as it was, Jessie was the one who withheld the fact that he was seeing Ellie, inadvertently placing Ellie in the midst of a bad situation, so I cannot fault her........ ......And I begin with Caitlin. It was good to see her again, but it didn't take long for her to become involved with controversy. I did feel bad for her in the end because she didn't know, and came on board to help Ellie's career. I'm glad she helped Ellie make the right choice in the end (and the hair color works, too) Mr. Stefanovic, I have two words for you, sir: good-bye! MIA/HOLLY J/ANYA: This story was alright for a B plot. Mia is still slowly growing on me, and I'm starting to like Anya, although I wish she would see Holly for who she really is (and what is she from, 1995? Who goes by their first name and middle initial in 2008? For someone to possess such "style" she should not know that's not hot)
I applaud Mia for trying to reach out to her, and if it weren't for Holly "B" they would have a real friendship. So I'm not waiting for the moment in which Holly J vanishes momentarily and I can see the real Anya emerge again and see if she is able to get her to come to her senses and realize that she can exist without Holly "B".

For the most part, a good episode but I can do without the whole Mia vs. Holly J sideshow, but I can see this will be an on-going issue this season. So we'll see how it goes when Sav becomes more of an issue.

This episode was truly hard for me to watch, the more it unfolded the more my stomach cringed and I realized how this would end. And surely, end it did, and badly, to the point of Alex being 'evicted'.

First of all, I smelled trouble when Marco asked Paige about Alex's plans. I thought to myself why couldn't he ask her this himself? This made me nervous. Alex volunteering to help Paige out I liked, even though Paige was investing way too much into this job to me. My sour point with Alex was when she blew Paige off for Jay of all people, to sit and smoke?! I thought Alex had grown beyond this place of carelessness. I guessw not, and when Alex's morality and hard earned values kicked in, it was Paige's expense, snd she dismissed her like an afterthought. The whole thing just escalated without really making any sense to me. Alex as of season seven wouldn't have blown her off to SMOKE WITH JAY. And Paige wouldn't have said 'I'm done' so quickly, even packing her things, just like that. And that's why I'm done with this review of the worst episode of Degrassi I have yet to see. Try again writers! My guess is that should Alex return, she will be farther than Paige, successful and with someone, making Paige feel like she's accomplished nothing. This could take, what a year? Season 8, anyone? Because we haven't seen the last of Alex Nunez.

This was a good episode to me---good, not great. There were a lot of things I liked about it, but a lot of things, I didn't: namely that we have visited this place before. I can easily recall Ashley going through the same things with Craig when they were doing music. She put aside her personal goals for him. Okay, fine, that's all well and good. Mr. Manning gets his big shot and is gone. Alright, good, that's fine, too. I do like the fact that Craig got a storyline and we got an update on him, albeit a minor one. Yet while I feel annoyed because this issue is like a broken record for her, it reminds me that if someone doesn't properly deal with a situation then it will only return in another form until they conquer it. Ashley never properly dealt with the situation with her music when dating Craig; she just went away from it. Going to Europe didn't eliminate the situation; Craig might have been gone but that issue was still there to confront her, and confront it eventually has, in the form of Jimmy Brooks. Now she wants to do something about it at his expense. That is where most of my dislike comes in. Instead of saying, 'alright, you do your thing, I'll do mine' or 'maybe we'll collaborate for now and I can go solo later' she decides to cut it off at the chase and alienate him, because that is all erasing his song will do, she will look like the villain. My sympathy went as far the end of the episode, but when she did that, it died completely. I will say it was a nice way to end the episode, because obviously this isn't over, and to me it spells a quickly coming demise for their relationship. Oh well.

Great episode. I actually watched it as a single episode on my Ipod so it's odd splitting these up to me. I was glad to see pretty much everyone within the entire episode. That being said....

DARCY/PETER/MANNY: My heart truly went out to Ms. Edwards for when she does comes to grips with the fact that she did have sex--but not with Peter. I cannot imagine going through that and it must be especially hard when you have idiotic parents who live in another reality (I cannot stand her parents for the record, as of part one of this episode)Furthermore, I was moved seeing Manny be there for her as a confidant and supportive friend. I often think back to season five when they weren't on such good terms as Darcy went through her motions with Spinner, so it's good to see that they can rebound from that and not only lead the squad together, but be friends as well. Having said this, I am not at all happy with the fact that this happened to Darcy while she was disobeying her parents and sneaking out. This greatly annoys me because it once again clashes with who she is trying to be. I have to remind myself that as people that I myself have known, she is still a young woman trying to figure out who she is and who she really wants to be. Kudos to Peter to being the greater force of good by supporting her, even though he could have been honest about the fact that a. he talks too much and has a problem keeping secrets and b. he met her at the ski lodge with the intentions of having sex. But Darcy doesn't seem to realize that there is only so much teasing you can do before you give in. It broke my heart to see her attempt suicide, and throughout this all I hope she gains perspective on what she wants out of life and what her priorities should be--for her as a person, and the woman of God she seems interested in becoming (more influence from parents? I'm curious to see how far that goes---does she genuinely want to live as a Christian or is she just 'following rules'? TBD...........) MARCO/ELLIE/JESSE/ERIC/PAIGE/ALEX: This was the least interesting part of the episode due to Marco. I am and have been rather annoyed by his inability to function without Dylan being joined at his hip. It didn't seem like he took their first breakup as hard, so what's up now? He simply refuses to admit to himself that Michalchuk has called it quits in his own subtle way. I'm frustrated because for a while now I haven't seen the real Marco---for a while now he has just been 'Dylan's boyfriend', and that pisses me off because Marco has so much potential and to see it wasted on someone I don't even really care about as a character is nerve-wracking. The parts of his stories I have been enjoying are seeing everyone else--and that includes the cutie known as Eric. This angered me as well because here you have a nice young guy who is interested in you and what's the song saying again? Dylan-Dylan-Dylan....the broken record plays on. So Eric, go find someone who can make you happy. I was ecstatic to see Ellie, who has had so little screen time these days, and the true-to form Paige Michalchuk. This marks 1 of the two final appearances of Alex, who I also loved, and was glad to see as well. It almost made me think of seasons four and five back at Degrassi, two of my favorite years. I also like this episode because this was pre-LIAB. That is more than likely the worst ep. ever IMO. However, I'm afraid that Mr. Del Rossi is going to be the old, alone, and with many cats, not Paige by any means. A great episode, as a writer I was satisfied but I would have personally done more with Paige and Alex just give more meat into their story pre-LIAB'S destruction.

This was an interesting episode. They took it to new areas as one of the Camdens dealt with personal tragedy (which in classic 7th Heaven doo-da is never directly addressed) and satsfied me by not making you feel as if you're just watching the Eric, Annie, Lucy, Kevin show. Here's how:

ERIC/ANNIE: Nice to see them as always, in his true Eric form. The whole story of them not being used to such and empty house made total sense to me, since, especially with Ruthie's absence, the fact that there are only four occupants of that house is pretty jarring. I was so tickled by Annie's newfound energy and how it seemed to wear Eric out, which could be foreshadowing for what happens later with his heart. It's great also to see how they keep in touch with their children--although I don't know why Eric wasn't aware of any of his children's events. The years are showing on Eric, but Annie seems to aging gracefully (especially after that awful haircut in season 10--I don't where THAT came from. Let us forget that ever happened)

MATT/SARAH: Great to hear that they are both done with medical school and are resident doctors. AND happy parents of twins. I would love to see Matt as a father to two boys and him and Sarah as doctors, but we may never get that. Oh well. References like this are still fine cause it give you a family feel. I wouldn't mind seeing Rabbi Glass anytime, either--he's a hoot.

MARY/CARLOS: A good story turned into a bad turned around into a good one once again. I love that they put some sense into Mary and brought her back to the working housewife she was in season 8, although teaching was a new one. Good though for her to be with her family now instead of traveling so much (she'd better not and leave Carlos with 3 kids)and teaching basketball possibly? Nice touch. That's the Mary Camden I know and love!

LUCY/KEVIN: I was both saddened and annoyed by thie story. I felt so bad for Lucy, who wasn't in any way at fault for losing the twins, and with her being so fragile Kevin was clueless as how to handle her or make her feel better. It was good to see someone act out personal challenges other than Eric, and it was refreshing for them to deal with helping a family member through tragedy. I can't believe she wanted to sit there and blame Kevin and everyone else for what happened, that's not very understanding or sensible of her, but it was a very Lucy thing for her to do, yet after all these years I'd hoped she'd be more mature....yet....it's Lucy. SIMON: Simon was definitely missed, I would have hoped to see follow up to his rollercoaster ride of an engagement to Ms. Taylor, but to know that he's independent and finishing school on his own is good. Hopefully he will stay out of trouble, and maybe we'll see him this season at some point...

RUTHIE: A very missed character, with this episode being the first in ten years she's not featured in. Nice to hear taht she's in Scotland but I was disappointed to hear that hadn't returned with Gallagher. Hopefully she'll return as well, and behave, and get her focus back and stop being so BOY crazy....

SAM/DAVID: No, the house is not the same. What's worse, these two are the only ones left in the house. Acting improves with age for some, but with these two I hate to see them at 15 and doing this still. Ugh....very disappointing compared to their "sister"

MARTIN/SANDY: These two are back, and it's great to see them again! I never did understand Martin's sudden turn to hypocrisy after being so honorable, only to go and get someone pregnant. But this time, he is visibly older and also wiser, and Sandy is as sweet as molasses. I want to see where this goes and hope that they genuinely fall for each other and that Sandy's journey is one that makes her a Pastor resembling Chandler, not Lucy. All in all, a good episode, can't wait to see the possiblities for this season and what the big central story will be?????.........
