The Batman Lost Heroes (1) Avg Score: 9.75 Total Ratings: 57 Total Reviews: 3 |
I'm really glad to say I enjoyed this episode. Season five was rather disappointing, and "Lost Heroes Part One" was perhaps the one saving grace. Too bad Part Two was a letdown, but at least Part One was good.
I would first like to say, I liked the way they used the characters. Robin, while way overused, was actually not annoying this time. Most every other episode in season five, all he did was stand around and crack lame puns and not contribute anything to the story. In this episode, while he was unneeded, at least he kept quiet most of the time.
The Batman and Green Arrow interaction was an added bonus. Seeing the two League heroes with no powers interacting and solving a big mystery together was great. The plot kept moving forward and sustained your interest with the constant new discoveries and mysteries happening. I am rather mad about the writers being sexist this season, having Batgirl only in 4 episodes and not even both parts of the season finale and having all male League members, but even that didn't subtract from my enjoyment of this episode.
I especially enjoyed the scenes with Hugo Strange. The narrative and flashback were great. Overall, by far the best episode of Season five.

The Batman Riddler's Revenge Avg Score: 9.36 Total Ratings: 77 Total Reviews: 7 |
Although I had to rewatch this episode a few times to decide, it was a pretty interesting episode. Riddler simply owned in it, and not to mention his VA did a absolutely perfect job.
At first I was a little shaky on the plot. There seemed to be just talking and not enough action, but after I rewatched it a few times it wasn't all that bad that way. It really gave you a better feel of the characters and a more intriguing story, actually.
Everyone had great dialogue here. From Batman and Riddler's conversations in the container, to all those great lines by Riddler (once again, Robert Englund was awesome in this episode), the dialogue just moved very smoothly.
Onto the not as good parts of the episode, I will say I thought Robin's role here was pointless. I enjoyed some of his dialouge after reuniting with Batman and all, but I think he should of done more in here. He really needs to start getting more spotlight to himself.
I think the shining points of the episode were the ending and Riddler finding out about Julie being the person who sabotaged him. At first, I will admit I didn't see much special in Riddler, but now that they've given him a background, a motivation and a nice story I have to say he's a very interesting chracter.
This was a pretty good episode overall. It still wasn't the best I've seen and there are about five episodes this season that are better than it, but overall it was a good watch and another good episode in The Batman's fourth season.

I hate to be the one sourpuss to rain down on this episode, but as I must speak my full honest opinion, I didn't think this was anything special. It was probably the episode this season that I was looking forward to the most, but it just didn't do it for me.
The first thing that threw me off was the annoying scientist geeks from the future. I mean, talk about just stupid. That girl Moira (whatever her name was) was making so much false statements about Batman that it almost seemed insulting. That and well, I just didn't see the point. They talked like geeks, they had a annoying moral yada ya, and well I don't know, but it just bothered me. Another thing was that I was hoping to see more Robin in this episode, but instead they have to show the science losers. They could of replaced the 1,000 year future scenes with scenes of Batman and Robin from the present day easily.
Now that that beef is off of my chest, I'll continue with the good things in the episode. I can't deny it was cool to see Nightwing and an older Batman, and the future Mr. Freeze was pretty cool. There was alot of action and Batman ruled the scene even as an old man. On the downside, I really felt Nightwing got jipped. All he did was save the pilot and then try to stop Mr. Freeze and get frozen. Also, Oracle was pretty annoying. Which is odd since Batgirl is one of my favorite characters.
This is probably my least favorite episode this season, but it was by no means necessary horrible. I just think they could of done alot better wtih this oppurtunity to finally show an episode in the future.

I thought this was an excellent episode. After being mildly disappointed with "Artifacts" and "Two of a Kind," it was great to finally kick things back into gear. The characters were who they were, everyone was played out well, and Robin finally owned the screen again. This definitely ranks among "A Matter of Family," "Team Penguin," and "Strange New World" as one of the best episodes this season.
The opening was one of the coolest I have ever seen on this show. I'll admit it was predictable and very obvious that that was Rumor hurting Croc, but that scene with "This. This is the end... for all of you." was a chilling way to start off this episode.
My attention was very tense on the episode as it kept getting more and more interesting. Not to mention some great dialogue between Rumor, and real nice fight scenes. I remained focused on the screen at every single second as the plot kept growing more tense.
There really wasn't any flaws in this episode; everything was laid out smoothly and it wasn't rushed. It was also great to see Batman and Robin working together as just them two again after Robin barely did anything in "Riddler's Revenge" and Batgirl appearing in the other recent episodes. I thought the two of them were both really good and at their highest peak.
The one thing that I'll admit threw me off was the whole thing with Rumor turning out to be a lame loser. I mean he was so cool and then he pulls off his mask and he's just some weirdo with a pointless motivation. The fight with all the villains at the end definitely made up for this, however. Batman and Robin ruled to no end, as I said before. In the end, this definitely is one of the season's best episodes.

While I didn't particularly like this episode, I didn't have any major problems with it either. I will admit the beginning was kind of dull; seemed like just a load of pointless yak with the whole Harley TV show scene. Also, I really am getting disappointed about the lack of character development Robin is getting. He seems to never get his own spotlight, and in this episode as well as last week's he barely did much at all.
I didn't mind the scene with Joker and Harley in the car or the scenes at Joker's hideout, but they weren't anything great. I personally didn't think they played as well off of each other as I thought they would. The last battle at the theater seemed like the most interesting part, but I still think that Batman, Robin and Batgirl got a big lack of development here. Oh well. Overall an average episode.
