JourneymanSuperb Pilot - A Love of a Lifetime "Pilot episode" Not to put too fine a point on it but wasn't Moon Bloodgood just in Day Break? (Spoilers) First let me say that I LOVE time travel stories. Ever since Gary Seven appeared in Star Trek I was totally hooked on this genre.

I even had plans to start a time travel website. So if I appear a bit critical at first, please bear with me. When I sat down to watch Journeyman I was anticipating some new breakthrough that I had not thought of before. But after just a bit, I began to think this is just the same old rehash. Good thing I stayed the course. But after all, didn't Moon Bloodgood just play Rita Shelten opposite Taye Diggs' Detective Brett Hopper in Day Break? (That was a rather time repeat story) and didn't Gary Hobson (Kyle Chandler) do this going around fixing what was about to go wrong in Early Edition? Or what about Quantum Leap? Not to mention the ripple effect (no, not that one, you know, "a ripple in time slays nine" (c) 2007 Marcus Tee) that has been used repeatedly since Sliders/Stargate etc. to indicate a passage to another time (or dimension). Then, as Dan leaves Livia in the apartment and runs into, huh? Go back! What was that? Livia in the stairwell? Yow! It finally got interesting. Forget all the Gary Hobson rescuing, I want to know how/why Livia is bopping around time the same as Dan. This is what will hold my interest in this series. I only hope that they have a really unique explanation. Because I have yet to see a series leave me satisfied at the end of a time travel story. (Usually there are many loose ends.) So here's hoping this series excels. I would dearly love to see a time travel story go several seasons and finish satisfactorily. Marcus Tee |

30 RockPerfect "Personal favorite" One of the best comedies on TV! Arguably one of the best comedies on TV, 30 Rock has captured the hearts of many new viewers. I think it's the twisted personalities and situations that are presented. It's like what they say about a train wreck. You know you should look away but you just can't. In comparing it to the rest of the offal we have to choose from, Rock is smart, endearing and above all FUNNY. Alec Baldwin and Tina Fey are incredible together and Tracy Morgan has never been better. He plays the perfect character to the show over the top. Go Tracy!

Burn NoticePerfect Pilot "Exactly why I watch this series" Finally a show that's up there with Eyes. I really love this show. Jeffrey Donovan is GREAT! I am so stoked that this show is doing so well. If they yank it off the air I am going to give up on TV altogether.(grin)

And Bruce Campbell! YOW! Who could ask for a greater cast. Not to mention Gabrielle Anwar as Fiona. And Cagney! WOW. that was a surprise. She's great as Mike's mom. My only complaint would be that they really need to get him out of Florida. (It reminds me of CSI:Miami. Yuck!) The narrations are cool and it's a real eyeopening lesson in the spy biz. If you haven't seen it, See it! |

The Lost RoomPerfect "Personal favorite" THE best show I've seen in YEARS! I'm an old man. Well, at least by internet standards. I actually used to do artwork for one of the very first Star Trek Fanzines back in the '70's! So you can tell, I'm a bit of a Sci-Fi fan. When I saw The Lost room was available on DVD I had never even known it existed. I was wondering, if I was bought it, if it would be any good. I also thought, since it was shown as an original Sci-Fi Channel mini series, that it might be a bit racy. (I don't get Sci-Fi and I can only go by what I've seen from other premium channel faire.) I did a little bit of research and decided to give it a shot since it was only about $15 at WalMart. Man was I surprised!

This program was so well thought out and so well executed I am totally surprised it wasn't made into a regular series. After my son and I watched it, I loaned it to my daughter. And then to my sister. We ALL couldn't believe that a series this good hadn't made it as a regular. Someone should SNAP this baby up. They'd make a FORTUNE. As a lifelong fan of Star Trek I can honestly say This show is way better! If you haven't seen it, BUY it. If you're a network exec, Make it into a series!!! Marcus Tee |

ScrubsPerfect My Way Home "Series classic" So many allusions so little time. MAJOR,MAJOR,MAJOR SPOILERS!!!! In this tribute to The Wizard of Oz there were so many things that related to the movie I was at a loss to spot them the first time around. It all starts when JD is taking a relaxing bath listening to TOTO on and Ipod. Next Jd answers a call from an inturn who is working on a patient named Fleming (The Wizard of Oz was directed by Victor Fleming). When he arrives a the hospital he gets his sneakers sprayed Ruby Red by the janitor.

Then Dr. Cox calls JD "Dorothy." Dr. Kelso then mentions that a patient, who is brain dead named Bolger (We later learn his name is Ray Bolger (Ray Bolger played the Scarecrow in The Wizard of OZ)) has the heart they need to perform a heart transplant. Later Dr. Cox is explaining to the interns about Mr. Langley's hepatitis (Noel Langley wrote the screenplay for the Wizard of Oz). Cox says that Elliot could not know the things she knows "off the top of that straw-covered scarecrow head of yours." Another quote from Dr. Cox: "It is , for all intents and purposes, like they're falling from the sky." Just as the house that Dorothy was in (in The Wizard of Oz) fell from the sky. Later Carla states that she is supposed to be The BRAVE ONE. As the four leave the hospital they are following the YELLOW line the janitor sprayed painted on the floor which soon turn into a yellow brick road. Ted's "group" is doing an acapella version of "We're Off To See The Wizard." As Todd walks down the hall a nurse asks him how the zoo was and he says: "It was awsome. They had Lions and tigers and bears, Oh my!" as he is distracted by a cutie in a cheerleader's outfit. The janitor has a screwdriver in his mouth and says "oilcan, oilcan!" Soon after we see that the Jodan's son has spray painted himself EMERALD green. Cox is cleaning up Jodan's baby when Carla walks up and Cox says: "Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain." Jordan is melting ala the wicked witch of the west. In the end JD mentions that Dr. Kelso is the Wizard. And in the background Ted's Group is doing "Over The Rainbow" and Kelso tells Turk he had the heart all along. Jd tells Elliott she had the brains all along. And Cox tells Carla when she has her own kid she'll find she had the courage all along. And Cox says to Jd: "Dorothy, you're goin home huh?" as JD walks out in his Ruby Red Sneakers toward home with a rainbow overhead in a cloudless sky. Marcus Tee |
