Fanfic Idea?

I know I should have posted my thoughts on the finale here, but this site hates me so much. I've tried a billion times, but it won't let me. Something about wrong HTMLs but I've checked over and over again and there was nothing wrong with it.

Anyways, I saw a brilliant plot device on DeviantART and thought I would share.

Power Corrupts by QueenoftheCute

"It came from a very vague idea of how Aang could easily be turned into an effective villain if he had killed Ozai. After all, he'd be an insanely powerful individual who cares very deeply about the things he believes in, but also considers himself able to judge the worth of another human life. And that spawned the idea of an exiled Azula trying to reclaim her throne while the Gaang, in an effort to create a world-wide utopia, become more and more, well, evil.

Zuko and Katara are obviously the Avatar's right-hand men. As Fire Lord and Bloodbender, they're invaluable to his efforts."

An evil Avatar? A world gone terribly wrong. Doesn't that sound morbid and yet interesting?

I mean Zuko had no qualms with Aang killing his father; Katara could go to the dark side as we've seen in TSR; and if Aang did kill Ozai, would could possibly stop them?

I mean I see Sokka, probably saying something; maybe even Toph--but how can they go against Aang, Katara, and Zuko?

As for Mai. Well in TBR we saw that even though she didn't agree on Zuko's methods (betraying the Fire Nation) she'll follow him.

Thoughts?

Avatar---The Southern Raiders [Spoilers]

ZOMG!!! I honestly went, "Holy sh!t what happened to her?!" when I heard Azula speak to Zuko. LoL. Celebrating about being an only child. XD But seriously, anyone who knows Azula (and I don't mean those who think she's cold-hearted and etc) knows that Azula never speaks that way...she's usually talking in calm manner. You know like those scary movies where the villain is walking slowly towards their victims and yet they always seem to catch up to them. *sighs* Ty Lee and Mai, how could you? (jk jk)

I hope Suki has a good reason for tagging along with the Gaang...because it just seems weird for me.

Poor Appa, even after all this time, he still hates tunnels. Although he did fairly well in the Cave of Two Lovers--what happened? ^^;; Sorry but I don't remember. He'd rather face the fire balls even after being somewhat tortured by the circus then go through the tunnel.

Albeit short, I loved the Zuko and Azula fight. I wanna kill Zuko though. Not only does he have any instinct to save his little sister whatsoever, but then he looks all sad that she may actually fall to her death---and then when Azula's able to save herself (woot!) he's resentful!!! I mean WTF? There were debates going on how Zuko's too big of a person, he would surely save his sister despite that they pretty much hate each other, but noooo. He was gonna allow her to die like that. Bah. There is one good thing though, we got to Azula's hair down without any half pony tails, flowing in the wind like Pocahantas. XD

Man is Katara bitter or what? I get that she's angry about her mom but to misplace that anger into Zuko? I feel sorry for the guy.

That Sokka scene that everyone's been waiting for, I would have probably laughed more if I hadn't seen it coming. ^_^ What bad and naughty teens Suki and Sokka are. LOL.

The Zuko and Sokka friendship---I'm liking it.

I wished though the flashback would have explained to us why exactly Sokka cannot remember his mother's face. That usually implies that they didn't have a close rel. or that he was tramatized, therefore his brain blocks it out. I'd rather go with the latter but now I don't think I can. I mean I read a great fanfic by Princess Tyler Briefs from ff.net about why Sokka can't remember (which makes more sense to me than the canon, he witnesed his mother's death) and I understand that the idea probably wouldn't pass for Nick--but really now. He's the older sybling, so it doesn't make sense---Katara forgetting would make sense since she's younger.

Oh well, another thing Sokka can have in common with Azula---yay for Sokkla! XDD

Aang, he's so wise! I love it. I mean he's right, he lost his entire people and yet he's not acting anywhere near Katara--but then again everyone has different reactions to things. Man Zach Tyler's voice maturity really showed in this ep. in my opinion. And I laughed when he asked if it was Katara's turn to have a feildtrip with Zuko. I'm glad the writers notice. I doubt Toph will have one--then again she doesn't need to.

And Zuko, what the heck? You took a step backwards! Really he shouldn't have agreed and condoned Katara's actions like that...plus he didn't exactly kill his father when he has the chance now---did he?

Okay I know this was supposed to be a tear jerker, but in truth I wasn't crying or sad. I was surprised though. I expected the murderer to be a changed man that way Katara changes her mind but, surprisingly he was a jerk. I thought he was good until he said to Katara she could have his mother, bah, pathetic old man. But that's good--they took a different step from the usual seeking-revenge-stories out there.

So I wonder what the Zutarians are thinking. Loads of screencaps and moments to use.

As for Kya---lol I was so expecting that they use Katara's pilot name for her mom. I had planned on using it myself for a fanfic, but I never did go through with it cuz I was lazy. XD

And whoever said, in ASN forums, that everyday is Grey DeLisle Appreciation Day was right! Holy crap! That woman is GREAT at what she does. I almost didn't notice, but Kya's voice actress is her! LoL.

Aside from playing Azula, she played Ta Min, Kya, and play!Katara in the next episode. ^____^

My thought on the preview for the Ember Island Players commercial?

Katara you _______! Poor Aang. He's waited so long---ya know Katara didn't have to lead him like that. (JK JK JK) if it wasn't the right time, she could've helped relay the message during all those Kataang moments. XDDD I'm so excited!

PS: I'm not an avid Kataang shipper---I'd rather have Sokkla happen than Kataang if given a choice. ^_^ But I do like Kataang and I'm not a Zutara hater either.

Oh I forgot to add that I love Sokka's hair down! ^___^

Long Time

Wow it's been so long since I've been here, let alone post something on this blog. I haven't really been visiting forum boards lately though I have begun to, mainly here since my Distant Horizon Forum friends seem to MIA.

I don't know whether to be happy or not, but since Avatar had another long hiatus, I've gotten myself into Naruto recently. Last week I even watched Code Geass, which is pretty good. I guess that's what happens when you have two of your favorite animated shows go on break. (Bleach is airing filler episodes that I don't care for; and Avatar's got another week or so to go before it airs again). I'm excited for the new episodes of Avatar despite that stupid book leaking everything out. Although I am gonna be a wee bit sad when it ends--hopefully I'll see you all guys again on the forum boards when the movie airs in 2010. ^_^

Video Stream recap (spoilers)

You may want hit refresh every few minutes or so cuz I'm editing this like crazy.

All right, the DVDs won't be pushed back however the finale and the rest of the new episods that we've been waiting for will air in July 2008. Source: http://news.toonzone.net/article.php?ID=23154

As for Comic Con, they hope that they will be able to post the trailer online so keep your fingers crossed. Things that we know:

The Southern Raiders is about how Katara and Sokka's mom died. They said it's to be tearjerker.

There's nothing on Iroh (where is location is and so on) and apparently we're not going to find out anymore about his trip to the Spirit World.

Nothing on Ursa either. "Wait and see," they said. (Mike and Bryan that is)

As for Zutara apparently the ship has not sunk. They had said something about seeing a clip (I presume in the trailer) that had Katara running into Zuko's arms. (What does this mean for Maiko?)

As for Ty Lee, Azula, and Mai---there was something however I could not hear. I'm sorry but the volume was really low.

Edit:

Combustion Man probably won't be returning (my bad).

Aang and Katara kiss however it shows Katara backing away. Then it has her running to Zuko's arms; and then there's play going on about Aang's adventures and Katara is sitting next to Zuko.

Lots of Mai and Ty Lee in The Boiling Rock.

Sokka and Suki kiss.

There wasn't anything on airdates specifically. Just July.

From dongbufeng.net/site1: Sukka is looking to happen, as Suki escapes with the "Day of Black Sun" prisoners in "The Boiling Rock." There was no Iroh in the finale trailer. 317 is indeed about a theater play.

Here's more from ASN:

Alright SPOILERS in no particular order and not only from the trailer:

- More firebending training between Zuko and Aang
- Zuko and Katara seemed to have split up from the group for some reason and are dressed as ninjas or something.
- Firebending players is about the Gaang going to watch a comedy Fire Nation play about their exploits.
- Azula goes nuts in a couple scenes, screaming and doing some fearsome firebending
- Sokka and Zuko infiltrate Fire Nation Prison. Sokka disguises himself as one of the guards and tearfully rescues and kisses Suki.
- Jun shows up in what seems like bar room brawl
- Zuko warning about how if they let the comet come, then there won't be a world left to save
- Ozai with huge ass armies and has a bit of fancy golden (I think) armor
- In Q&A, mentioned Koh would show up, although very briefly
- We won't be finding out about Iroh's trip to spirit world
- We will be finding out about Katara's mom complete with flashbacks, southern water village before destruction and cute little Sokka and Katara
- I did not see any Haru, Teo or Duke at ALL.
- Aaaand, I'm sure there's a bit more I forgot to mention, but the trailer didn't really reveal that much, but it did get me really pumped up

On the live vid stream they say in the trailer, Azula goes crazy that they can't really describe it. She just loses it and it looks like she's battling Zuko (and badly losing cuz she's beat up) so I guess she's not taking it too well.

The trailer they will try to post ASAP on DF but we may have to wait until Friday. There will be a podcast on DF later this week for those who couldn't make it to Comic Con NY this year.

The Kataang kiss, they say was rough. Aang apparently kisses Katara but she quickly pulls away in disgust and guess what? It's not a dream sequence like 309. So ouch. Right now the Zutarians seem to have the upper hand they say, but who knows? We've been messed with before.

309 dream sequences are important so go watch it again. I think it's a foreshadowing of what happens in the future. They say the finale trailer seems to be based on the dreams there. IDK maybe Aang's a psyhic. In addition the comet does hit the earth (Avatarverse earth/planet).

In the trailer they say you also see a smidge of Ozai being crowned Pheonix Lord; and Azula's coronation as Fire Lord.

Toph apparently is missing from the trailer. There's a bit of Sokka and Suki though. There's Aang, Katara and Zuko also. (I'm kinda sad, where's Toph?) The theory the gentlemen gave: Toph burned her feet and she may not be able to fight.

Nothing on Bumi (except the play), or Pakku, or Hama, or Gran Gran. No Dai Li as well.

Apparently the trailer is that good, because the men said they've never seen anything like it before. I can't wait.

Well if I remember anymore, I'll be sure to edit.

Outrage! Live Video Stream Not allowed.

Title says it all. I'm fuming because it's not fair to all those who couldn't attend Comic Con. I wanted to see the trailer; I wanted to know the secrets and yet they're not allowing videos inside. And one would think it was Nick who was doing this, but guess what? It's not. It's Mike and Bryan who said that videos weren't allowed.

After being pulled in by the first part, this 2nd part made the audience stay. We are given several revelations, and at the same time we are given many questions in return. The voice acting was really well done as well, it would seem that the actors have definitely improved. I must give my applause for Zach Tyler, especially near the end where you could almost hear his voice crack, when Aang was thanking everyone and that he would make it up to them. You could hear the emotion in his voice very clearly and it was very believable. We also are given a taste of what the Fire Lord is capable of, proving that there is someone worst than his daughter; and someone probably better in bending than his brother. In addition, it would seem that the princess we saw last season is back in action. Still cunning and clever, as well as a good fighter; it turns out that she is a great liar that even Toph can't sense it. Lastly, Toph is given time to shine, something she lacked in Crossroads of Destiny. These two episodes even rival that of the season finales, and I cannot wait what they have in store for us for the series finale.

American Dragon: Jake Long
Homecoming
Avg Score: 9.76    Total Ratings: 104    Total Reviews: 43
This episode had everything you could hope for and maybe more. Love, betrayal--therefore angst, action, element of surprise, and a little humor. Jake and Rose's love for another and trust is once again tested when the Huntsman realizes his prized apprentice is not only working along side the American Dragon, but in love with him. He uses Rose's parents against her to force her into betraying the remaining location of the Aztec Skulls. The pace was a little rushed, but that was to be expected due to they only had 30 mins to complete the storyline. The voice acting was spectacular, you could hear the pain and anger in Dante Basco's voice when Jake destroyed the skulls after wishing Rose had never been taken by the Huntsclan--therefore forgetting him as well. The fight between the Huntsman and the American Dragon could be longer but it was all right; and the side story with Trixie and Spud was something to ease the story a little bit from the heavy theme of this episode. Though in all honesty, after reading the Amdrag blog, I realized that this episode could've been so much more--if only Disney didn't have it's silly rules. I'm not saying this episode was bad, but it could've been longer and more stretched out a bit, instead of rushed. Also, the ending of this episode was not something I really liked, and had hoped that the creators could've put the ending they wanted instead--Rose staying. I must admit this is my favorite episode and if your not a fan of AD:JL I must recommend this is one of the episodes to change your mind.

I must admit the first time I saw the ad for this show, I was asking myself what they were thinking. Then there was a marathon during one Saturday when I couldn't find anything to watch, so I decided to give American Dragon: Jake Long a chance. I watched a few episodes and had a few laughs and said, "Hey this isn't so bad." Though I did wonder how Jake, the main character, couldn't figure out the Huntsgirl was Rose. But then, one night I see the preview for "The Love Cruise" and I told myself that I wouldn't miss the episode. The way it was advertised, it sounded worth it, and I wasn't watching anything on Saturdays anyway because I got tired of Disney's new shows but with the same plots and life lessons. I had everything set; I watched "The Love Cruise" and afterward, I was amazed. I was shocked at how a children's show could have such depth. I never realized that this is the first animated series I've watched with a forbidden romance, and plots that aren't over used. Sure, it has some but not a lot. His teacher's is a little over the edge with magical creatures, always finding ways to get him in trouble (and there are teachers who are like that), his father blames him for things that aren't really his fault, but how could he explain it? (Can't teens relate to that?) And the love of his life, is the apprentice of his enemy. American Dragon: Jake Long has action, drama, romance, a bit of angst, and comedy. What more could you want? Sure some of the episodes are silly and maybe even unfavorable, but if you were to watch every single episode you'd realize that those little things didn't matter because they had a bigger plot going on that no other television series had. It's hard to find an American animated show now a days, that has all the elements this generation's into but American Dragon is worth your time and patience--because if you just watch one episode, there's a small chance that you won't understand or comprehend it or like it. You have to see them together to appreciate it; sort of like a puzzle, placing the pieces together to appreciate the bigger picture. (Gets better every season too!)

Sailor Moon
Avg Score: 8.99    Total Ratings: 2036    Total Reviews: 234
Serena is a junior high student in Tokyo, Japan. She constantly has failing grades and deals with everything a normal teenager has to go through. However, her beloved ordinary life is changed when she meets a black cat Luna and "negamonsters." She then becomes Sailor Moon, who fights for love and justice! She fights evil and along the way discovers there are others like her, gaining new friends who happens to be Sailor Scouts like her. Together they defend the Earth from Queen Beryl and her minions; as well as looking for the princess of the moon. Though, it becomes more complicated when she and her friends find out that she is Princess Serena (Serenity) of the Moon Kingdom, and Darien, aka Tuxedo Mask was the love of her past life.

From there on, she and Darien rekindle their love, but it is far from happily ever after. Evil continues to plague them, some from outer space, and some even from the future, that they accidently see a new era where Serena, as Neo-Queen Serenity will one day be the soverign of the Earth along with King Endymion (Darien) and will have a daughter (Rini). Seems complicated, hm? It doesn't stop there, the Scouts meet more Sailor Scouts that are more powerful than the inner ones (Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus) and find out that the outer scouts are trying to find the Sailor Scout of Destruction and kill her! However they find out, this person is none other than a kind hearted girl who has befriended Rini. It goes on, and has great plots--though it strays from the manga on a lot of things. Unfortunately for the North America, Sailor Moon was never seen completed--since they later the girls go to high school, and they say it has a lot of adult themes--that they didn't want to taint the good name of Sailor Moon. Though, don't those people know, that the ones who watched Sailor Moon are a bit grown up by now? Anyways, it's ashamed that we will not see the full series, however the ones that were released in the United States are awesome and worth looking into. Despite the dubbing (and censorship-hindering us a lot from the real relationships), which has gotten better in anime over the years, it's a fantastic show you will remember. I enjoyed this very much when I was a kid and I mourn not having seen it all(Bring it back!).

City of Walls and Secrets

It's the moment we've been waiting for, the gang has made it to Ba Sing Se--the Earthkingdom capital. When the children arrive, they are awed by the magnificent buildings and walls of the city. However as soon as they take a tour of the city, they realized that everything is a sham. There is no equality--the poor get their own place, where it's run down, the middle class--which is okay, and the upper class: where Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Toph are to stay, is as wonderful as it can be. It seemed that for security, the people have given up their freedom. Which is sort of something taken out of the novel, "The Giver."

Also, when Aang goes asking around for Appa and the black market--their tour guide smiles at the person, being pumped for info, shaking her head-warning him not to say a word. It is obvious that even the Avatar is restricted from certain knowlegde. Ba Sing Se, may be safe, but it is a twisted place. No one is permitted to talk of the war nor know of it, and those who causes disruption are dealt with being brainwashed--as Jet seemed to been going through, at the end of the episode. As for the king, he is no king at all-just an idol the citizen's look up to--a puppet being strung along. It was a good episode, you saw Toph and Katara all prettied up; saw the city that's been talked about; and saw a great bendless fight between Zuko and Jet. All in all, this wasn't bad--despite the "Stepford Wives" effect.

About Me

Maylene
Well not much to say about me, except that I like to draw, write fanfics, and surf on the web. I also seem to like characters that are least liked by most people. My main shows right now are Avatar and Inuyasha. I'm ticked off at Naraku though for doing what he did to Kikyou in the recent manga 465. May she RIP I would like to thank Nalesnik for my two Azula and Zuko signatures; and PrincessAsura for my Sozula signature. I love Sokkla and I love the concept of Azula and Zuko reconciling no matter how slim it is. ^_^ Thank you, you two for making me the sigs. And the icon is by hermonthis from livejournal. The icon was not, unlike the banners/sig, made for me but everyone. I'm also a fan of Taang, Inuyasha/Kikyou, Ion/Esther, Ryoko/Tenchi (I can't believe he's going to end up in a harem!); Relena/Heero, Quatre/Dorothy, Shayera/John, Terra/Beastboy, Meiling/Syaoran, and Robin/Raven.

My Latest Video Uploads

Sokkla A Step Too Far

My first Sokka/Azula video; the song is from Aida "A Step Too Far." The picture in the end is not mine, but doodlebuggy's at Deviantart.
