Merry Christmas!!!

Hey guys and dolls!

Wishing you a Merry Xmas .. and if Santa didn't come, I hope you did

So what'cha all get?

My Xmas haul is/was:

Gorgeous little coin purse from Sassy {I love love love it}

Two t-shirts black, one says 'whatever', the other 'disturbed' from D man, plus a bottle of perfume.

a block of chocolate from Tillie, Pippa and Giz (they got a smackoos stocking each)

Money from my dad.

Gift vouchers totalling 250 from Mum, sister, nephew, brother. (i'm hard to buy for apparently )

Trivial pursuit from Jacqui and co

Chocolate stocking from work from manager

Overall a good haul.

And now that life is relatively back to normal, I should be around more. I've been MIA again due to a co worker having a heart attack and me having to cover his shift, but soon soon soon I should be all playful again.

I hate being 'grown up'.

Quzzies because it's too hot to sleep and clicking is easy...

Summer has only just started here and I'm already sick of it...

You Are an Orange Rose

You represent desire and enthusiasm

Your vibe: Sexy yet familiar

Falling in love with you: happens instantly - it's a fast ride
What Color Rose Are You?

Now this made me giggle...

You Are the Ace of Spades

You are ambitious, slow and steady, and at times, self serving.

You aim high, and you're willing to be brutal to get what you desire.

Highly dominant and controlling, people are intimidated by your presence.

Yet while you are a bit scary, you are scarily charming. People are driven to please you.

You crave the best in life, and you enjoy the spoils of your success.

You live a charmed life, and you're enjoying every moment of it.

A gamble you should take: Playing poker

Your friends would describe you as: Hard working

Your enemies would describe you as: Ruthless

If you lived in Vegas, you would be: A student by day, a stripper by night

What Playing Card Are You?

And finally....

Your Dominant Intelligence is Linguistic Intelligence

You are excellent with words and language. You explain yourself well.

An elegant speaker, you can converse well with anyone on the fly.

You are also good at remembering information and convicing someone of your point of view.

A master of creative phrasing and unique words, you enjoy expanding your vocabulary.

You would make a fantastic poet, journalist, writer, teacher, lawyer, politician, or translator.

What Kind of Intelligence Do You Have?

The Colours of Me [with link that works!]

Not sure how much I believe in this idea ... but below is a personality test based on the colours I 'connect' with...

The results:

You seem to be trying to sweep aside the situations (and maybe the people) that you feel are standing in your way. You are impulsive and apt to follow these impulses seeking to be involved in special or exciting happenings. In this way you hope to deaden the intensity of your conflicts, but your impulsive behaviour is leading you to take some unnecessary risks. Back down a little and remember 'more haste - less speed'.

You need an atmosphere of peace and quiet and you would like to share a bond of understanding with the 'right person' - you have the belief that with the right person, your stress and anxiety could be minimised.

All the problems that you have been experiencing of late seem to have become a part of your life and there is little that can be done to change the situation. Your emotions run high - but even though you feel as if at times you are about to burst this situation will pass. Try to release your pent-up emotions by participating in some extra physical activities like running, swimming, whatever. There must be some favourite pastime, not necessarily strenuous, that can help you to relax.

Setback after setback has resulted in considerable stress and now you have got to the stage where you are continuously on your guard, not only to protect yourself from others but to protect yourself from yourself. It would seem that many of your unfulfilled hopes and dreams have led to uncertainty and suspicion. You no longer wish to answer to others and you are insisting on freedom of thought. You feel that you are fully self-sufficient and can control your own destiny. You are seeking ways to protect yourself from further loss of prestige and against further setbacks. You have become very dependent and you doubt that matters could possibly get any better in the immediate future and this negative attitude is leading you to exaggerate your claims and to refuse reasonable compromise.

You don't like authority and you rebel against all forms of limitation. You are your own person and you intend to stay that way and to get on in the world simply by your hard work and determination.

Meloni only gets better - each role he takes on showing more and more of his talent and his comfortabilty with the camera.

Meloni first came to my attention in Bound and since then, each role he has taken on has only furthered my appreication of this star. Not only is he able to bring out the depth of the characters he plays - even in small roles - his ability to switch from role to role and take on projects others may scoff at, makes him one of the most versitle actors around. Also, the fact that Meloni hasn't let fame go to his head - beside his sucess and let's face it; very good looks - means that this actors career still has a long way to go.

OMG
How great was this episode?

Though I miss Deakins, I do like the new Captain and the writers are nicely setting him and Goren up against each other. I expect many sparks and locking of horns between those two to come.

The serial killer as a woman - Yes! I thought perhaps it might be someone they've already been in contact with [the whole never spoke to Eames gave that way] I was most impressed with the depth the writers showed towards the backgrounds of Goren and Jo Gage - how differently they were affected by the same person and how that effect changed the course of their lives. The way in which Jo used her father's obsession to get his attention was not only believable but allowed audience sympathy towards her character as well. I loved how well rounded her character was and how well both actors played their parts to convey underlying emotions. Eames captured - though I knew she would have to survive [as there are no rumours of her leaving] I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see how she would get away. I loved the fact that though she is small in stature, she took charge and freed herself. Had the police come in and 'saved the maiden' I would have been a little annoyed at the lack of respect for Eames as a detective in her own. That she saved herself was great to see. I was also impressed with the way in which Declan and Goren interacted with each other - the student and the mentor now as equals.

Overall, a fantastic season opener!

Okay, first comment on this episode is: I KNEW Glynn was the brother's son. I knew it. For starters the step mother was very stereotypically the 'vamp' who devours whatever she wants. The actors looked alike and the brother's wife looked like the step mother. Not really a big shock that Glynn was indeed their son.

The burning of the Churches though, from the baptismal font and the path the altar boys walk was well done.

However, the biggest event of this episode was the resignation of Deakin. Though I knew it was coming from the updates I recieve on the show, I though the emotion was a little flat surrounding his leaving. Surely there would have been a little more to it than 'i'm going, bye'.

Overall, i found this episode more of a lead up to Deakin's resignation than an episode in itself.

I loved Whoopi Goldberg's perfomace as mother Watkins ... [does that woman ever age? she looks as amazing as she did in The Colour Purple].

The way the episode progressed was most impressive, with the linkage of the theft to the boys and the boys to Mother Watkins.

However good Logan and Barek were as detective, I can't help but wonder if Goren would have been a better detective choice. Considering his history with his mother and his love hate relationship with her, to pit him up against a mother such as Watkins would have been very interesting indeed. Taking into account how calculated Watkins was and how Goren attempts to get under the skin, I think Watkins would have been a better mind match for Goren than Nicole was.

I am starting to really like Barek as a detective though, Logan still grates on my nerves.

I found this episode a little flat, mostly because of the casting as Barek as believer and Logan as skeptic. Also, the healer as a sham, haven’t we all seen that before? Though kudos to Barek for pointing out that faith comes in many forms and why certain practices may not be for us, they’re crucial to others. [Another plot device that irked me – praying on the sick and dying; hasn’t that been overdone before too?]

Though it revealed a little of Barek’s character as being open to alternative healings, that Logan was the unbeliever and ultimately had to prove that voodoo was fake, irked me. He was closed minded from the start and no amount of ‘proof’ was ever going to shift his focus. Without Barek, I doubt he would have uncovered the murderer at all.

Speaking of which, the investigations into the murders was well writing and kept me watching.

But overall, not the best of episodes.
