Where are my Heroes???

How can you work an average of 10 to 11 hours per day, and still have time to be bored?

The keyword to the answer is seasonbreak. I have about enough time to watch one or two episodes of anything per day, but everything I'm downloading is so slow, that it that I wait most of the time for it.

On the weekend, I'm so tired from all the work, that I just want to relax, not leave the house at all, just be a couch potato. Since my girlfriend tends to want some time for her own on the weekends I'd have a lot of time to watch something.

The problem is, there is nothing... nothing at all at the moment.
Where is Heroes??? Where is Lost? Where is all the other good stuff?

I want them back!!! Unfortunately, it doesn't look like all the good shows are coming back. At least Heroes will be back in one week or so, but what then?

So please, if anyone can recommend any good new shows, let me know.

Christmas, Christmas... When was that again?

Ah right... today. Well, in Germany it starts with the beginning of November and goes on until nobody can stand it anymore when it's really there. Here in Canada no one really seems to care about it, therefore I might as well miss it this year.

Anyways, to all of you, who feel like reading this:

Fröhliche Weihnachten!
Merry Christmas!
¡Feliz Navidad!
Joyeux Noël !

The new The O.C. and the other new seasons.

Well, time for a new blog. So let's talk about TV again.

From all the new seasons that started more or less recently I like the new season of The O.C. the best so far.

Lost disappointed me, it is not what it used to be, there is just too much 'Others' in there. The mystery of the numbers has almost vanished and it is not getting closer showing us more of the other mysteries. Although the smoke moster returned in the latest episode.

Desperate Housewives is as entertaining as I remember it, whereas I don't like the one thing or the other. Like for example Bree's new husband. He does not fit in the series, get him out!

The new O.C. is much darker and the season premiere totally rocked my mind. Yes of course, it has its new lowpoints too(like Summer going hippie), but with them I can live. Anyways, it is so cool the have Seth back. I can't wait to see more of the new season. Dark rocks. I also totally liked the cover of Within Temptation's Running Up That Hill, which they had in last week's episode. I just have to find out who covered it...

Well I also got completely hooked to Heroes. An amazing new show, also it sometimes seems a little like X-Men and like no one in that series was normal...

Whenever she's on screen you can be sure she uses her incredible skills to portray her character. But the one and only role she was born to portray is Faith from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. No other recurring character found as a large number of fans as she did. It is just incredible. She so deserves her own show. Unfortunately all plans to do so are history. So we can only hope to see this amazing and gorgeous actress in more of Hollywood's big productions. That she has got what it takes to star as a the central character of a movie she already proved in wrong turn. Give us more Eliza.

This episode has two wonderful things in it: Sark is back and Rachel evolves.

I think Rachel was somewhat supposed to be a 'replacement' for Sydney as she is pregnant and can't really go on missions anymore. But Rachel does such a great job.

Finally out in the field, all on her own she does amazing spy work and plays her role exceptionally. Also, she's super sexy somehow.

My personal highlight of this episode is when Bob aka Sark and Lydia aka Rachel meet at the bar because both have time to kill. Rachel takes Syd's advice and opens herself for 'a little more fun'.

It's so funny, they are both there at the hotel for the exact same reason, their organizations are playing each other but they don't and it would have been so much different if Sydney had gone on this mission.

Their chat at the bar is just amazing because the audience knows both of their stories, how it really was, and they both try to reveal them in a non-obvious way. As they go up to their floor and have this little mini fight about what room to take to have sex in it's just so funny because they have all of their secret agent stuff lying around and don't want to show it. It's a real highlight.

Then they also have this big final at the pulse device that threatens to kill them. Rachel takes the strong part and verbally knocks Sark out.

This episode is simply amazing for her development. Unfortunately the whole hostage situation seems to mess the episode up...

Homie the Clown

"A clown college? You can't eat that!"

Homer is the greatest and this episode is one of his specials. First of all, he just looks just amazing in the Krusty costume.

This episode is joke machine gun, there are no 15 seconds for a breather. I just has everything, cynical Krusty comments, ignorant Homer quotes, and the most wonderful situation comedy.

I just say, two of Homer's co-workers roll into his room burning with flames everywhere and all he sees are two clowns rolling and joking together with the typical circus melody in the backround. "Hehehe, clowns are funny."

The training at the clown college is just amazing and because there can only be one clown in each district our hero decides his district is called 'Homer', which is not even quite es funny as the ranch boy who tells his hometown is 'Brooklyn'.

My personal highlight is when Homer uses a pickaxe to drive acceleration holes into the hood of his car and if that wasn't just enough the odious Flanders comes and finally gets shout down, twice.

There is no other chance but to surrender to the laughter. Enjoy!

Al Bundy works in a shoe shop, he is so unsuccessful that even freezer salesmen at the north pole make more money than him. And yet, he's changed my life.

I grew up with the Bundys as my brother used to watch them all these years. He was rolling on the floor laughing so I wondered, how can that be. I joined him for my first episode of "Eine Schrecklich Nette Familie" (A Terribly Nice Family) as they call it in Germany. Well, no one cares for the name since we all use to call it simply 'Al Bundy'.

Now, I joined my brother and that's when I saw him for the first time, Al, god of the toilet seats and nightmare of all slow witted fat women. He opened the door and startet with his classic: "A fat women came into the shoe shop..."

Once I got to know all the characters of the show there was no other way but to be absorbed by it. I even continued after my brother had already stopped watching a long time ago. There is not a single episode I haven't seen at least 10 times.

What makes this series so exceptional is not that they make low qualitiy jokes about every single cliché but that the writers were actually able to keep it filled with new jokes for these exhausted clichés for eleven years.

The newer the episodes are, the funnier they get. I learned so much about insulting fat women, about chicken jokes and I still laugh every single time I hear Al tell his stories. I know them all by heart and they are still hillariously funny. How can that be?

I have so much fun watching the Bundys over and over again and nobody should have missed this series in his life, it's just great.

Alias
Nightingale
Avg Score: 8.95    Total Ratings: 174    Total Reviews: 4
This is a very Alias like episode, it contains all the great elements that the fans love the show for. To name just a few, there are scientists experimenting with super weapons, action and fight scenes, traveling around the world, foreign languages, intrigues and people playing each other. One of the best aspects of this episode is that Sydney’s father finally gets a bigger part again. His ‘absence’ or being passive during the whole beginning of the season was definitely a lacking element. This episode now leads the viewer deeper into the nature of the agreement that Jack has with Sloan. You can’t really tell on who’s side he’s really on or whether he’s playing Sloan or Sydney or maybe both. And that’s what keeps the tension high.

Besides the fact that we get more and more clues that Vaughn’s father might still be alive we finally learn that Irina is still taking actions instead of being dead, as one could have suspected earlier. We are now waiting for the moment our heroine Sydney will find out about this. Excitement, fear and suspense are all over this episode, especially as Sydney is trapped inside the reactor and is about to be dissolved by the cruel Nightingale device. Really, inside me I was shaking although I knew and told myself: “She’s gonna make it, she always does.”

But the coolest part besides the bar fight in this episode is the German. I always love it when there are German characters or locations and especially when they talk German. But as usual the language, respectively the things the characters say are perfectly correct German whereas they seem to lack actors with the proper pronunciation skills. Although the scenes are to be set in Munich even the waitress in the backroom has a horrible and strong American accent. And we all know about Jennifer Garner’s problems with German pronunciation, which follow her through all the season.

Nevertheless I love every single time she has to speak other languages as much as I love her changing her disguises.

Nightingale makes you hungry for more Alias, now that the secrets are about to be lifted and now that the season finally has got an absorbing arc. Enjoy!
