Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1985) Man on the Edge Avg Score: 9.50 Total Ratings: 1 Total Reviews: 1 |
For a story that should be obvious, this one really surprises. Mark Hamill plays a man standing on a building ledge, ready to committ suicide because his wife was torn up with an affair she had.
Police try to coax him down, and eventually a specialist in psychology takes over the job. He convinces the jumper to recall his torment.
Spoiler
We learn that the wife was having an affair - with the psychoanalist! And Hamill's character realizes it to. He allows himself to be saved after convincing the specialist to walk out on the ledge with him. As he is being strapped in to a safety harness, Hammill's character gleefully pushes the doctor to his death.

In the Heat of the Night Rape Avg Score: 7.97 Total Ratings: 9 Total Reviews: 1 Users who agree: 2 |
Althea is raped by a new teacher where she works. The sight of her as Bubba discovers her, amidst the thrased kitchen, is haunting. He can only breathlessly ask, "Is he still in this house?"
Althea is traumatized further after the man's wife alibis him. We explore how Althea stops trusting all men, referring to them all as zippers. Virgil struggles with how to cope and lead her though it.
Gillespie's encounter with the wife is so pivotal. She knows that they've moved from town to town after he commits rapes along the way. Gillespie knows how much of an enabler she's been. He calls her on it, and his repeated departure line, "You make me sick, you make me sick, you...make me...sick," rings true.
A bit of a pat ending, as the rapist goes back to Althea's home, only to be caught red handed, after the wife does the right thing. But it is a harrowing, powerful hour of television.

Who's the Boss? Roomies Avg Score: 8.76 Total Ratings: 8 Total Reviews: 1 |
This is a good episode. Sam is having trouble getting along living with dorm life and decides to look for off campus housing. She decides to go in with the couple leasing a home from a professor. Ben is played by Matthew Perry, who should the same charm later present in Chandler Bing.
Ben and his girlfriend have a fight, leaving Sam to console him. While Ben wants to make advances on her, Sam keeps things calm. But it's a shock for Tony and Angela when they find Ben showering. Ben is shocked too - as Sam's New Mexico boyfriend Matt (see episode 2 of this season) has come to surprise her.

Who's the Boss? Hey Dude! Avg Score: 9.19 Total Ratings: 8 Total Reviews: 1 |
This is an odd episode. After the season opener, with Sanamtha at home, now she's off for the whole summer to New Mexico. While there, she meets a beau named Matt.
Tony and the rest travel there to find them contemplating marriage. While that is called off, Matt does ingratiate himself with the family. Matt would return again later in the season.
Not a bad episode, but it doesn't flow with the prior week very well. The final scene, with Angela and Tony skipping over the answering machine messages by their respective squeezes, is very good.
All in all, a weak start to season 7 only picks up a little here.

Who's the Boss? Ridiculous Liaisons Avg Score: 6.50 Total Ratings: 7 Total Reviews: 1 |
A dreadful kickoff to the worst season of WTB. Tony is never able to see Christopher, a man who catches the fancy of Angela, and everyone else. Tony is insanely jealous and tries any means to see Christopher face to face, all to no avail.
The episode is supposed to be a farce, but delves into the disastrous "Three's Company" misunderstanding type of comedy. Danza overacts, poorly.
Also of notable concern, this is the first episode of season 7. From the end of season 6 until now, Samantha has cut the long, dyed dark locks, and now has short hair. Johnathon had a tremndous growth spurt and looks like a teenager. Yet no mention is made, and it hurts. The show grew "without" the viewer in that sense.
