i knew they were going to kill jin when the actor was aressted on a dui charge last year so no surprise there. you could tell jin's was a flashback because of his anger, the large cellphone & getting a panda (he's korean, not chinese). it was well done & i can understand how she wouldn't trust juliet after what she heard from kate & daniel but i was not expecting juliet to betray her trust that way to get them to stay!! that was a shock but at least it was done to protect the baby. juliet can not handle losing mothers to the island & i can see how she would do anything to save sun. having bernard show up & remind him how he was a bad husband before the island & how it was his fault that she cheated was another stroke of brilliance by the writers. having her talk to the tombstone was another emotional scene & was quite sad. i was excited to see zoe bell from deathproof on the show but then she killed herself! i guess jumping off a freighter with chains wrapped around yourself is a dangerous stunt but it was odd how none of the crew members tried to help. sayid is getting caught up in the mystery so it ties into his spoilfoward but desmond should really be asking about getting saved & seeing penny again.

the old kate would never turn her back on charlotte. that scene was incredibly stupid. they should have figured out a different way for that to happen. it was dumb. so charlotte is turning out to be quite a violent woman. she knocked kate out & then fought with juliet. i'm glad that juliet is still tough & that her relationship with jack is not fake but genuine. unfortunately thanks to the spoilfowards we know he won't forget about kate & pursue something with juliet. it's too bad as they have more in common with each other & do really well together. this episode seemed rushed with the introduction of the harper, the tempest & how quickly they were nullified. it's too bad that the gas is gone now because it could have been used against the boat people. it was an ok episode, but it didn't really expand on juliet, except maybe when she admitted to jack how she feels about him.

more time-travelling. really, this shouldn't be a surprise to anyone as we saw desmond travelling into the past before in flashes before your eyes when the old lady told him he couldn't change the past. in this episode, he's unstuck from time & in order to avoid a time paradox (which daniel totally makes a sarcastic comment about before desmond tells him about eloise) they explain how he doesn't cover his head so he obviously forgot about their meeting & the settings for his flux capacitor! ;) but despite all this sci-fi goodness & ben's mole on the ship helping them out of the medical bay, the whole point of this episode is that penny didn't give up on desmond. despite his mistakes & failings, she loves him & kept that phone # even though she didn't want to speak to him at the time, when she changed her mind & decided to get him back, she kept that phone # & kept searching for him. it was such an emotional scene that even i cried for them. i know, corny, but of all the motivations that we've seen on this show, this is the only one i can respect. it well done & the best part of this episode. just that phone call at the end.

kate's motivation for talking to miles made absolutely no sense whatsoever. she wanted to know if he knew who she was? really?? why wouldn't he? she's a well-known fugitive. anyone can go on to the fbi website & get a list of criminals. a criminal on a crashed plane? even easier to google. google was around in 2004 so it made no sense for her to do all that work & lie to everyone just for him to confirm that she's not an anonymous person on a plane. if the others can find out things about their past why couldn't the people from the freighter? give me a break. it was so lame. there were so many other ways to have a kate-centric episode without having her behave in such an irrational manner. i mean, she smacked sawyer for saying something. which was insanely out of character. he's said things before, but for her to smack him in the face? & claire didn't seem affected at all by the fact that charlie had just died. it hasn't been that long & she's acting like everything is perfectly fine. a little mention of that by kate or maybe claire not being so happy would have made this episode better. who wrote this episode??
at least ben asked the question i had: 3.2? why not 3.3 ? maybe there's meaning in the amount. who knows. miles is such an annoying character because he is motivated the same way that nicki & paulo were, by greed, that i'm barely interested in it. luckily locke stuck the grenade in his mouth to shut him up. a great scene. sure the spoil-forward twist at the end was great & i can find a little solace in that they are trying to really stick it to all the l&o fans who clamored for answers because they are getting their precious answers with some brand new questions. either way i hate spoil-forwards & they detract from the show.

despite the spoilforard there were a bunch of good things in this episode: it's great to see little things like jack's face when he says "because sawyer won't let him" to kate when she asks how jack knows locke won't throw a knife in to her, as she goes with sayid to the others camp. i was tricked when hurley pretended to be left behind, so that was good. it's great to see locke be in charge finally. (of course he should have realized that with all those people around he wouldn't find jacob's cabin.) it was also great when kate asked sawyer how long they could play house & he goes "why don't we find out"? it was romantic really & showed how, now that he killed locke's dad, he can see a future for himself. unlike kate, he's finally ready for taco night. & more importantly, he realizes that back in america they are both criminals. sawyer was right when he asked kate why she wanted to leave the island. of course, he sounded like ben did when he was arguing with jack! lol. the trade for charlotte was great. they really did a good job of making miles unlikable. the problem with these spoilfowards is that they aren't helping at all & just ruining the island scenes. now we know that sayid is 1 of the 6. great. so much 4 putting him in danger now. of course, now it seems that the 6 will be returning to the island. so there's comfort in that. the twist ending & the bracelet that naomi & elsa wore just create new questions for the law&order fans who don't understand this show. i'm more concernced with the time difference on the clocks.
