Letterman Deal. Can it inspire to end the Writer's Strike?
Shortly before the New Year started, David Letterman and hisproduction companywere able to stike a deal with the WGA to bring back his show, as well as Craig Ferguson's, with their writers. His return happens tonight. Other late night hosts, like Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien, are retuning tonight as well, but without their writers in order to employ their non-writing staff.
Can the deal made by Letterman and the WGA help to inspire the AMPTP and the WGA to strike a deal and bring an end to the nearly two-month strike?
We'll have to see to find out.

Excited About the Following
Haven't blogged in a while so here are the things I'm most excited about for the new TV season.
I'm really excited for Kristen Bell. After the upsetting cancellation of Veronica Mars, I was glad to hear that Bell would be the voice of Gossip Girl on the new CW series, Gossip Girl and in addition would portray an upcoming hero on one of my favorite shows, NBC's Heroes. Looking forward to that.
I'm excited for the following new series that I already love and ones I hope I'll love. Gossip Girl is a show that I'm starting to enjoy and I see that it has a lot of potential to become a great series and Pushing Daisies looks like it will be a fun show to watch that has captured me as something different and with totally unique pespective.
Here's to great viewing!![]()
'Mars' and 'Gilmore' CANCELLED, but with a POSSIBLE MOVIE DEAL?
Most recently two of my most favorite shows from The CW, Veronica Mars and Gilmore Girls were cancelled. It was upsetting to me as I've loved these shows. Girls since 2005 and Mars since the night of its premiere in 2004. It was sad to see these shows go but fans and I may get a chance to see them one final time.
Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars are possibly going to becomea movie. If the movie deal does come, it may tie up loose ends and give us a second chance to see them one last time.
Here's hoping it'll happen!

Gilmore Girls CANCELLED!
After seven years of coffee, witty banter, mother-daughter talks, and many pop-culture references, Gilmore Girls is ending. The hit comedy/drama about Lorelai Gilmore and her daughter, Rory, going through their lives with witty banter, coffee addictions, and different romantic and friendship relationships ends Tuesday, May 15th at 8PM/7PM-central on The CW. Unable to extend the contracts of actresses Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, who play the lovable and wonderful mother-daughter duo, the show has decided to end its run.
I am sad about this news as I would have liked to have seen an eighth season, but as the old saying goes, "All good things must come to an end". I'm hoping the final episode will be good and able to wrap up this amazingly wonderful series I've been a fan of the past two years. I've seen every episode and I'll never forget the funniness, the touching moments, the memorable characters, and of course the wonderful relationship between Lorelai and Rory. As I look back I like to remember it all, Lorelai, Rory, Luke, Emily, Richard, and the rest. How can we ever forget them? (the final two lines are similar to Charles M. Schulz's final line from the last strip of his comic, Peanuts)

Kim Possible Ill Suited Avg Score: 9.61 Total Ratings: 94 Total Reviews: 26 |
I had been nervous about what the new episodes would bring once 'Kim Possible' came back, but thanks to this episode, I was throughly pleased and not at all disappointed.
III-Suited sees Kim and Ron back to school starting senior year and dating. After Bonnie tells Kim she shouldn't date Ron because she's a cheerleader and Ron's not a jock, he feels and fears that Kim will dump him if he's not a jock after overhearing a conversation with Monique and Kim that is more of a misunderstanding about Bonnie being right. Ron tries out for quaterback but fails at it. He takes Kim's supersuit which gives him the advantage. Kim is surprised by Ron's recent athletic agility, but surpresses her sucipiousness. Dementor, whose been after Kim's supersuit since seeing it in battle, comes crashing through the roof of Bueno Nacho with a device that controls the supersuit. Everything comes out in the open as Dementor controls the suit that Ron is still wearing and Kim is angry by Ron's cheating. While in fight mode with her, Ron explains that he did it because he was afraid of losing her and that he overheard Kim's conversation about Bonnie being right about cheerleader-jock dating. Kim defends it by saying that she was talking about more better cell phones and tells him that she doesn't care about dating a jock, she only cares about dating Ron when he's honest and himself. It makes Ron happy and apologizes to Kim and that he never meant to hurt her. Dementor ends up wearing the suit, but Rufus takes control of the suit, saving the day and Kim accepts Ron's apology. Later, Ron proves he's a fast runner when he scores the winning touchdown for the team and breaks the high school record. Kim's proud of him and Ron gets disciplinary action from Barkin, but makes Ron the new running back.
All in all this was a phenomonal episode that surpassed my expectations. The animation was better than ever and Dementor was hilariously demented. The best part about it was the sweet moment between Kim and Ron at the end during their fight. Kim and Ron together now is the icing on the cake for me and the writers and produces have made them a sweet couple just as I've pictured they'd always be. The writers and producers have done a great job as the show continues to be funny, well-written, and just great. One thing to the writers and producers: DON'T MESS IT UP!

Ugly Betty In or Out Avg Score: 9.49 Total Ratings: 233 Total Reviews: 16 Users who agree: 3 |
Meanwhile, Hilda loses her job after 'Herbalux' is recalled by the FDA. She has trouble finding a job, but decides to sell her father's famous cupcakes to a local diner. She puts everyone hard at work to the point of exhaustion from Ignacio and Justin.
Meanwhile, Wilhelmina and the masked woman get the information on Bradford from Steve to connect him to Fey's death. Wilhelmina is deciding who she keep at 'Mode' once she's editor-in-chief. She's fuzzy on Christina and wants Amanda out because of her feelings and loyalty to Daniel. Marc tries to change Wilhelmina's mind, but she's set on her decision unless Amanda proves her loyalty to Wilhelmina.
Betty is helping Daniel move forward and stands by his side even if it means going up 28 floors of stairs with him so he can avoid running into Sofia. Amanda isn't happy with the new situation, but takes it as best as she can. Betty is concerned over Daniel's lack of confidence and decides to set him up with supermodel Gisele. After some convincing, Daniel agrees and this displeases Amanda.
Marc hears of Amanda's situation, he lets her in on Wilhelmina's in and out plan and that Amanda needs to betray Daniel in order to stay. She is reluctant, but realizing that Daniel will always take Betty's word decides to betray him and cancels the dinner with Gisele.
Daniel arrives at the restraunt with photographers taking pictures through the window. When Gisele doesn't show, Betty comes to the rescue and the two later go out for pizza, sing some karaoke there, and crash a wedding reception to get free cake. In the process, Daniel opens up about his brother's death from a ski accident and tells Betty that Henry likes her. Betty doesn't believe it as she saw Henry kiss Aerin at the party, but Daniel tells her that Aerin kissed a bunch of guys at the party and she should go for it because she's better than any model. Betty in turn tells Daniel he's lucky because he opened his heart to Sofia and was ready to marry despite how bad things ended.
Meanwhile, Christina wants to enter the fashion week to show off her designs, but is troubled because Wilhelmina decides who's in. Despite her better judgement, Christina makes a trade with Wilhelmina. Wilhelmina will put Christina's designs in the fashion show if Christina will deliever the package full of evidence on Bradford to the police station anonymously.
Meanwhile, Hilda makes $181 off the cupcakes and needs to make another order. Ignacio, however, is exhausted and Hilda decides to make them herself. When Betty gets home, she finds Hilda making them and she gets frustrated when she learns that Betty went on an all-night "date" with her boss to which Betty says wasn't a date. The cupcakes burn and Hilda shouts about everything wrong with her and begins to cry. She tells Betty that Justin is the best thing that ever happened to her, but sometimes wonders what life would be like if she wasn't a single mom, which Justin overhears. Betty tells Hilda she's an amazing mom and that things will get better.
Betty arrives at work and gets Daniel to go in the elevator and tells him she isn't going to avoid Henry anymore and he shouldn't avoid Sofia anymore. The elevator stops on the 'MYW' floor, the doors close, then a hand stops it, but it isn't Sofia. Betty finds Amanda packed up syaing that Betty is Daniel's only assistant. Amanda tells him that the only thing her and Betty have in common is what's best for Daniel. She gets her old job back with a raise and Betty returns to being his only assistant.
Meanwhile, the masked woman's surgery has healed and Wilhelmina comes to see the new her. Thw masked woman is pleased with how she looks and Wilhelmina replies "that the skiing accident really paid off, Alex Meade". To which Alex replies "It's Alexis Meade now."
A total shocking end! Betty and Daniel cross the transition from boss/employee to friends. Amanda betrays Daniel to stay at 'Mode' and because he'll never respect her over Betty. Christina wants so badly into the show that she does Wilhelmina's dirty work. Finally, the masked woman is unveiled and it's Alex Meade, Daniel's deceased brother. Who would have thought?! All this time I thought it was Fey Sommers, but as it turns out she's really dead and Alex isn't. Instead he's become a woman with a new name Alexis and is consiring with Wilhelmina. But why is Alex doing this? Can't wait for more. Also as strange as this may sound and I'm not lying, I thought that Daniel and Betty would eventually go out as friends and maybe even sing karaoke. I'm not kidding.

Ugly Betty Sofia's Choice Avg Score: 9.20 Total Ratings: 212 Total Reviews: 19 |
Betty gets her research from Daniel, who says he grew to really like her despite resenting her at first. She also gets Marc's honest feedback and sees his Betty screensaver of Shame, to which she gets him to delete due to her knowing of his pictures on dudecruise.com. Talking with Amanda opens her eyes more. She learns that Amanda hated her because Betty got the job she wanted, but grew envious of Betty because she never cared that she dressed up looking like a 'yard sale'.
Meanwhile, Wilhelmina is swept off her feet by Ted LeBeau and brings out her nice side and wearing jeans she bought at an outlet store. It soon dwindles when Ted tells Wilhelmina that he is going to try and work things out with his soon-to-be fourth ex-wife. It devastates Wilhelmina and brings back her mean streak and therefore goes forward with her plan to take over the company by calling bak Steve who has info on Bradford. Meanwhile, Daniel is hesitant about popping the question to Sofia to which upsets her greatly. After seeing Sofia cry over it, Betty tells Daniel that he should propose if he doesn't want to lose her. He brings her to meet his parents that night and then pops the question to which Sofia says yes.
Meanwhile, Betty sees Sofia with Hunter earlier that day putting a large wad of cash in his jacket pocket and walking into a strip club. Betty and Christina go to the club to investigate. They discover that Hunter is a male stripper Sofia hired to make Daniel jealous, but are unable to get more information. Betty calls Daniel to tell him only to find out he's engaged to Sofia.
Meanwhile, Ignacio is finding it difficult to work with his caseworker, Constance. Hilda recommends that Ignacio try to get along with her and to do something nice for her. The next day, he apolgizes for what happened and gives Constance a mug that says 'World's Best Immigration Worker'. She is thrilled with the gift and hugs the life out of Ignacio and states that she hopes to see more of him.
Betty discovers the next morning that Sofia used Daniel for her cover story on how to get any man to propose in 60 days. She attempts to inform Daniel, but security guards stop her because Sofia wants Betty away during her moning show appearance with Daniel by her side.
The morning show airs and everything comes to light, devasting and humiliating Daniel. He and Sofia fight. She tells him that he does the same thing with other woman too, but tells him that he was more than she ever thought he would be. Betty tries to console him, but he walks away never hearing her.
Back at 'MYW', everyone but Betty cheers for Sofia. Betty yells at Sofia over what she did to Daniel and how she used her as a pawn in her scheme. Sofia says that she didn't lie about Betty's potential and that she sees alot of Betty in herself. Betty says she sees nothing of Sofia in her and hands her article to her saying that the people at 'Mode' may be superficial, but know it and don't pretend to be someone they aren't and then she quits.
Amanda avenges Daniel by hitting Sofia continually with her heavy purse in the elevator. Bradford attempts to fire Sofia, but Daniel tells him no because the stunt Sofia pulled will probably be a huge launch for any magazine he's had. Betty tries to find Daniel at 'Mode' but Marc tells her that Daniel was last seen at JFK airport and has disappeared.
A very revealing episode. I almost didn't recognize Becki Newton, who plays Amanda, as Ruthie, but her voice sounded familiar to me which made me realize. Nice to see Wilhelmina's nice side but she's better and funner being mean. Glad to see that Daniel realizes how he treats woman, but it was still sad to see what happened to him. Sofia is such a jerk. Way to go Amanda on beating up Sofia! Ignacio and Constance's scenes together, hilarious!
Can't wait for the next episode when the mysterious masked woman will be revealed.

After watching the episode I found it good, but I'm not intrigued to watch it again. I much perfer the cool drama, 'House', because it intrigues me more.
Still a good show though.
Claire tells Audrey what happened to Jackie and goes to see Peter. She thanks him and they talk briefly. Later, Claire finds out that Lyle can't remember her abilities and that Zach doesn't remember what they had gone through the past few weeks. Haitian, who works for Mr. Bennet, is responsible for this. Claire's dad told him to make Lyle, Zach, and her mom forget what happened and that he needed to do it to Claire, but says he doesn't want to and asks if she can keep a secret.
Mr. Bennet is keeping Sylar captive at H.R.G. It is revealed that Sylar needs just one last ability, Claire's indestructibility.
Meanwhile, Nikki comes face to face with Jessica and finds that D.L. and Micah have been hurt by Jessica's attacks. She realizes that she can't trust herself and that Jessica is stronger. So, to protect the two people she loves most in the world, Nikki turns herself in for murder.
Matt and Audrey try to figure out what happened at the high school Claire attends. When Matt sees Haitian with Mr. Bennet, he can only get static when reading their minds. But with as much power as he can muster, he hears one word: Sylar.
Mohinder returns to Brooklyn to try and finish his dad, Chandra's work and find the other heroes. He gets a call from Eden. She tells him that she lied about who she really was and that she'd explain everything soon and that she'd make things right first by killing Chandra's murderer. She tries to persuade Sylar to take her gun and kill himself. He breaks the glass and attacks Eden. She is killed by gunshot.
Isaac is released from H.R.G. and heads to 'Burnt Toast Diner' to meet with Hiro and Ando. Hiro tells Isaac of his impending doom. Isaac shows Hiro the paintings he made of Charlie and Hiro the day she died, he'd been sober at the time. Later, Ando and Hiro are with Isaac in a hotel room. Hiro tells Isaac to concentrate on his power. Isaac does and morphs into his ability and begins to paint. When it is done, it shows Hiro in his present attire holding a sword and attacking a T-Rex. Hiro realizes he needs to find that sword.
Peter and Nathan leave the police station as Peter argues with Nathan over what had happened. Peter starts coughing and faints.
When he awakes, he finds himself on the sidewalks of New York with a bunch of empty cars in the street. He walks down the street and sees Mohinder, Matt, Nikki, D.L., Simone, Micah, and Isaac all running away from him. Claire comes up to him and they stare at each other. She runs from him as well. He then sees Nathan coming out of the campaign building and walking towards him. Peter hears a rumbling and then he starts to blow up.
Peter wakes up out of his state to find himself where he was before he passed out. He silently tells Nathan that it's him. He's the bomb.
A total shocking end! Peter is the bomb! Could the scar in his future that Future Hiro talked about be the result of the bomb? How can Peter stop himself from doing this? Eden is gone, but is Sylar gone too? Also what will happen to Claire and why is it that Haitian wants to keep her from forgetting? Also what is significant about the sword that Hiro weilds in the future?
All will be answered in six weeks on January 22. This will keep me waiting and wanting for more till then.
