Spring has sprung - sort of

It's spring, the snow is melting, so there are piles of dirt and garbage everywhere.  My allergies are acting up or out, or something.  Then it tried to snow again today - but it didn't stick to the ground.  I walked to and from work today.  I can see an end, an end to winter.

Spring also means the last 6 weeks or so of television.  I both love and hate season finales.  They are some of the best episodes, great writing, acting, directing, and exciting plot devices.  It also means we are closer to summer reruns - which I do not like.  So it is happy, and sad.

Will you be mine?

Will you be my valentine?  I think I have fallen in love with you.  Your pretty and black.  Your back is shiny.  You're constantly in my possession.  Sometimes I hold you in my hands.  Sometimes I just let you sit there while I listen to your soothing sounds.  At the gym you pump me up and encourage me to keep going.  At night you are with me until I fall asleep.  Sometimes your loud, but that's ok, sometimes I am loud too.  You never mind driving with me place in my car.  You don't make fun of my off key, out of tune singing.  You have a wide variety of taste in music.

Oh, iPOd, will you be mine?

(now if only I was in the US I could subscribe to get CSI episodes on my iPOd every week.  Darn.  Most of the time I love being a Canadian - but sometimes . . . )

What happens in Jasper - stays in Jasper . . .

unless I write about it in my blog.

So it has been a crazy couple of weeks.  I have gone slightly MIA.  I apologize.  I missed you all.

On Jan 8 our installations team at work was split up into 4 separate teams.  I now work downstairs in customer service.  It's a whole different floor.  My desk is bigger.  I don't have to put up with some of the people I don't like as much.  I am almost settled in now, almost.  But it was a big change and sometimes my head still spins.

On Jan 19 I went on a weekend trip to Jasper.  It's the annual ski trip organized by a friend of mine at work.  This is my fourth year.  I don't ski.  I spend the weekend shopping, eating, driking, dancing and having an excellent time.  This was the best year yet.  It took me until Wednesday before I started to feel normal again.  I can't say anything more - ecspt I got a shirt that says "What happens in Jasper, Stays in Jasper."  It sums up the whole weekend.

CSI Season 7 ROCKS!!!  I mean, it's not the same without Grissom the past couple of episodes - but if he's going to be gone - this is damn good television.

My only wish SIGN UP FOR SEASON EIGHT JORJA!!!

Snow + Wind = BLIZZARD.

It's minus 17 outside (1 degree for those of you with that outdated Farenheight system) - but with the wind it feels like minus 28 (convert it yourself).

Visability is crap - it's freaking cold - it's a blizzard (really, the weather channel told me so).

And of course it's my day off . . . I had plans . . . but I fell on my a$$ just walking to my car, in my boots - then the car wouldn't go up the small hill, so I drove the long way around to get out of my apartment complex  - when I spun the car out I figured it was a sign.

So I slowly drove back home and I am going to stay here until I have to leave for work tomorrow.  Where are the grating and sanding trucks?

Schools are still open - people are going to work - but they (um who are "they" anyway??) suggest if you don't have to go anywhere to stay home.  Sigh.

It's only going to get colder - you know it's bad when the line on the 14 day trend goes below the chart - here's an idea  - make a new chart to include miuns 34.  Or maybe it should never get that cold.

Thank goodnes for CSI season 6 (all I have left are the commentaries) and CSI: New York season 2.  If anyone is looking for me I'm bundled under blankets on my couch.

It's December and it's crazy!

I love the Christmas holiday season - but my already busy life has become increasingly more hectic.

At work things are changing - as of January the departments ar changing around a bit.  Processes are suppossed to change too.  Everything is a little bit up in the air right now.  We're suppossed to have some meetings this week and find out, well, stuff.  It's just all a little confusing.  Let alone we are going through the holiday rush where people want to get security systems installed before the holidays.

At home - my rommate got a second job on the weekends.  It's great, well maybe, she's not sure about it yet.  Unfortunatle this means that our Sunday trip to the movies is not happening.  We'll have to make a plan to go on Friday night.

I'm also trying to get my home cleaned up and decorated for Christmas.  I love all my holiday knick knacks.

My company's Holiday Gala was on Friday.  So much fun.

It's all down hill from now until January 2 - I have to go Christmas shopping, see if I can buy something nice to wear Christmas Day, get my car fixed - etc, etc, etc.  It's fun but a little crazy.

According to me this was the best episode of CSI so far. I had watched all the promos a million times and read over the spoilers every day – and I was still on the edge of my seat throughout the whole show. First off I liked that they explained where she was parked and why, that was bothering me all summer – I kept thinking it could not have been the lab or her home – so where the hell was she – oh!, getting vegetarian food, makes sense. I laughed at the way she answered the phone, "Hello, Gilbert". Natalie's place was down right creepy. All those pictures of Sara, and a few of Grissom too. I can see how Nick wouldn't want to leave until he found something, but it must have also brought up memories of his stalker and being buried alive. I understood his anger, and I cried when he remembered his conversation with Sara during "Gumdrops", when his eyes filled up with tears, so did mine.

I liked how they kept bringing in the pieces of the puzzle, the evidence needed to find out where Sara was located. First you had the trip length on Nat's car, the maps on her computer, the video that showed her going west on Imperial, analyzing the dirt from Nat's car, that Auto Yard dude (go Brass!) . . . all leading up to fining the car . . . but no Sara !!

She was so smart in this episode. I mean she really couldn't get away from the taser and avoid being taken in the first place, but then she got out of the trunk, got out of the car, and almost got away. She talked to Natalie trying to get her to open up a little (I knew that water was drugged). She managed to get her arm free from under the car before she drowned (although her arm must be broke in 2 places now) I winced and actually yelped out loud when the bone broke. She took the mirror with her and used her outer shirt as a cover for her head. At first I kept yelling at her for not staying by the car, but then I realized she needed to get to higher ground – 1. to get away from all that water, and 2. to find out where she was. Her footprints helped them follow her path, and then she started leaving the cairns. She basically saved herself, almost. Dehydration and exhaustion got to her eventually, but at least she didn't end up like that hiker. I kept thinking how large the desert was, and how scary that would be. Then Nick saw the glint off the mirror. I love that he was the one to find her, after all, she was the one to figure out where he was buried – it was symmetrical. Of course the ending was the best. Grissom goes with her on the Medvac and she opens her eyes to see him. Sigh. They are the only couple on television I know that can make handholding seem so intimate and speak such volumes. Bring on Season 8, bring it on!!

From the start of this episode, with Sara walking through the house with the flashlight and the answering machine picking up a call that will never be received - I felt this was all creepy and cool. Filled with GSR goodness - excellent lines like "my data got cancelled - I'm sure he had a good excuse". To Grissom running in when Sara yelled about the "hot scene". The way he turned his head away when he heard Sara was at the hospital. Then you had her talking about the suspect to him at rapid speed and him asking her to slow down. Of course the best was the ending with Grissom wiping away her tears and then leading her out of the lab. Sigh. I won't tell you how many times I have heard Sara say "I held his hand, just like I held hers, and I lost persepctive." I smile at the way Sara leans into his hand and Grissom squints his eyes and she just nods. They have a way of saying so much without saying anything at all. Now, other than the GSRness - you just have an excellent Sara centric episode. How disturbing to have a victim die in your arms. As she was standing outside you could see that she wanted to go back and find Cammie's killer. Greg walking by and Brass trying to question her - and all she wants to do is collect evidence.

Where Sara really shined was with Nick (first at the house, then in the interrogation room, and out at the bar). My heart just ached for her and the flashbacks she kept having. And when Cammie's ex said "at least Cammie died knowing kindness."

It was nice to see a small scene of Grissom mentoring Greg - sad to hear about the city paying out the Jones civil case. As well as Warrick and the grandmother of one of the girls. It was nice to see even Hodges was made more human with the phone call from Libby's mom (I would not want to be in his shoes at that moment).

I just thought of this show and how much I loved it the other day. I have all the episodes on VHS. Really should see if I can get them on DVD - tapes are getting a little grany since I watched them so much.

My best friend in hish school/university used to play live role playing games. Not my scene, I was always a little insecure for that - but I love hearing the stories and the lore behind the games - especially the one with all the vampires.

Really at this point this show has more memories of the person I was when I watched the episodes. I am much more confident and happy now. Still miss the show and wish it had foud an audience.

That was the best episode of CSI New York ever. You may think I am exaggerating, but really, what more could you ask for? You got a really interesting case involving magic and guest star Criss Angel. Even better, you got major Danny & Lindsay interaction.

I felt so bad for Lindsay. She calls Stella, and she just seems nervous, but when she sees the man that killed her friends she freezes. I wondered if Stella even noticed that Lindsay wasn’t listening to her anymore. So when Danny stopped by and Stella just happened to mention that Lindsay said hi and that the Montana girl didn’t sound like herself, you could see that Danny wanted to say more than “huh”. So then he starts to see her walking down the hallway of the lab, at least he thought he saw her. By the time he got home I was pleading with him to call her – but what happened was so much better. His instincts were so much better. He got on a plane, after working all those hours; he got on a plane and went all the way to Montana for his Montana. The look on Lindsay’s face when he sneaked into the courtroom, I smiled. The way they held hands and then she leaned her head against his shoulder during the verdict, I squealed. But when we got to that last scene and she wouldn’t let go of his hand and pulled him into her and then they leaned towards one another and ahhhhhhhh - all I really want to do is kill those cameramen – I mean they almost kissed. Damn. I think Mac might have had a problem if that picture ended up in the media – but who cares? This is more personal than Sara and Grissom have been all season (and supposedly they have been in a relationship for months, if not years). I was so excited I had to go back and watch it about six times. That’s more than I watched the shaving scene. Danny is just so hot, and Lindsay was so vulnerable, and sigh. I’d stop gushing but I don’t know how.

The magic and having Criss Angel, as a guest star was cool too. At first I thought it was Luke, but then I thought that was too obvious, so I kept trying to think of who else it could be. I had this crazy twin brother theory where Luke actually ended up in the foster care system, his brother was adopted by a crazy family that abused him – obviously I was a little too focused on Danny & Lindsay and have seen The Prestige one too many times (written in white in case you have not seen that movie). Killing through extreme magic tricks gone wrong because of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and the fear you are losing the only “family” you have ever had? That is twisted. I loved when Mac did his little magic trick with the rose.

Did I mention Danny flew all the way to Montana for Lindsay, some people might think it was the sleep deprivation. I mean he was seeing her in the hallway of the lab (the smile on his face was priceless, he looked like a six year old on Christmas morning). But that’s not what was going on – he just realized that he should help Lindsay

Damn. Yep, got to start out with the damnation and hellfire. Sure, there was a case, but one minute of television made me forget everything that happened for the past hour (almost). How do those two actors turn two simple lines into so much? Sigh. Can’t wait to see if anyone comments on Grissom’s lack of a beard. Unfortunately we have to wait six weeks. Stupid basketball. Although funny, episode right before March Madness involves basketball.

Ok, enough about shaving crème and my wishes that Sara kissed it off. Loved the beginning. Grissom’s monologue about photography, the pictures of the kids in the hallway, the action in the gym, then the song starts to play, and then everything just stops. It was freaky and cool at the same time.

Poor Grissom, got woken up out of bed on a Saturday. Must have left Sara sleeping because she didn’t show up until they found the van. Loved the line of Warrick’s “Let’s hope your taste in men has improved since then.” You bet your lovely buns it has, he’s this hot older guy who is really smart and worships the ground she walks on, oh, yeah, he’s also your boss.

Greg was getting action in the back of his car? Well we know he didn’t make it to home base, but maybe third? Hmmm maybe I should be using a basketball reference. He threw the free throw but didn’t make the basket? He fouled out before making the play? Also loved Nick in this episode. He noticed the shed before Griss. He figured out they should be looking for the girl in the area around the accident scene. What broke my heart - he line to Megan about wishing he could have selective memory about things in his past. My poor Pancho. Now as for the case itself – twisted. Here you have what you think is this happy couple. But wait – he sleeps around with other girls, including her best friend and his photography teacher. I think Nick said it best when he said that line about Charlie loving Megan, Megan loving Ryan, and Ryan was a dog. Through in a prank for revenge of passing STDs around school and a teacher with an unhealthy obsession and you end up with three dead people, one boy in jail and a girl who will never walk again.

Can’t wait for April 5 – until then I have a bunch of movies I recorded on my DVR and I think I’ll rewatch Season 7 again from the beginning. Still trying to figure out who the MSCK killer might be.

I watch way too much television - so how else to help my addiction but spend way to much time on the computer hanging out here. My fav shows are CSI, CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, Veronica Mars, Gilmore Girls, Supernatural, ER, Without A Trace, Criminal Minds, Ghost Whisperer, Medium, Bones, House, Crossing Jordan, Lost, Numb3rs, Heroes, Studio 60, Prison Break, The Unit & Grey's Anatomy. This is in no particular order except that CSI is my number one show. I'm a big fan of GSR and M&M. I also go to the movies every week. So screens are a big part of my life (tv/computer/movie). My favourite things in my apartment are my PVR (it's like Tivo) and my computer monitor. Pretty shiny things. I love shopping, new clothes, and all kinds of music.
