Going Back to School

*sigh* I'm going back to school tomorrow. And already I feel like I'm having problems. For one thing, my backpack is heavier than usual. It's nothing I can't handle, it's just, I wish I didn't have to carry everything. And I already tried to keep the weight lowered, but it isn't going well. Second, I have to wear socks in this heat. I really don't want to, but I have no choice. Anyways, I also found out the first two days are going to be on a 'modified schedule' so now a few of the things that I needed to get done during free period are gonna have to wait. And I still don't know my schedule! Why couldn't they just give it out on registration like last year??????!!!!!!!!!!!

If it sucks already, I fear what is to come next.

Summer is ending

*sigh* So my summer vacation is almost over. Thursday of next week I'll be back at school. Today was registration.

What sucks:

-My hair looks horrible on my new school ID

-I haven't finished my summer homework

-I have no idea what schedule I have

What rocks:

-My new locker is close to where the bus drops me off in the morning

-I get to go on the bus for free (for the first month anyhow)

-I'm most likely getting the elective I chose, which in my case is art

So, it's basically evened out. As for going back to school, I'm not really dreading it, because I expected it. And my friend will finally shut up about how she wants summer to end quickly because she's been so bored. Grrr...At least she didn't have any summer homework! *sigh* I know that I brought onto myself the fact that it still remains unfinished, but it still feels well...meh...

I guess this was bound to happen sometime soon.

My Thoughts on Fanfiction

Really, I've been wanting to do this for some time. *sigh* These are my personal thoughts on fanfics, and how they seem to be going down the drain these days.

Well, first of all, back before FFNet existed, it was hard to find fanfics (or so I assume. I dun really know, as I've only gotten my 'hunger' for fanfics recently, if you count about two years recent). But anyways, they were probably harder to find before, because they were hosted on private sites that used HTML programming. As such, chapters were much longer, and the people writing them put a much better effort into it.

But, nowadays, with FFNet, MediaMiner, DevArt and other sources, writing and posting fanfics online has gotten considerably easier. And as such, the quality of fanfics has slightly dropped. Often, you can find stories filled with errors, grammar and punctuation mistakes, text that should be limited to IMs and text messages and general annoyances, such as Mary-Sues and the like.

All in all, it seems that because these new privileges have been given, people have become lazy in keeping up the quality. I mean, do fanfic writers these days have no dignity? If you write something that the whole world may very well see, don't you want it to be the best that you can do? I know that I do.

Case in point, because I don't wanna sound like a prissy know-it-all, I'll tell about myself and my own 'history' in fanfic writing. When I first got started, I had seen a lot of fanfic writers who did those cutesie script thingies at the beginning and end of their stories. I'd also seen some of them doing that "REVIEW OR I'LL DIE!!!!" thing. Naively thinking that that was all it took to be a good fanfic writer, I used those types of things in my fanfics while the story itself seemed to be less-than-qualitable. I finally realized when I was forcing myself to write a new chapter and after receiving some slightly unnerving, but sensible criticism; I really needed to change a lot of things around. So now, I am currently rewriting my still unfinished story, in hopes of making myself and the story not sound like blatant idiocy.

I was able to save myself from making too many mistakes to count. But, I feel like there may be hardly any hope for other fanfic writers who constantly write this literary garbage. I'm sorry if I sound cruel or mean, but it may very well be true. I love fanfiction, but if it continues on like this, I'm beginning to feel like it will be destroyed.

Stupid Screamers!

Do you know what a screamer is? Well, in case you don't, let me explain.

Usually, screamers are shown in emails or videos. Usually, the sender will request the person that they've given the message/video to stare at a picture and try to find out what's wrong with it. Well, let me tell you this. There is never anything wrong with the picture. But, usually a person will be curious and go so far as to put their face really close to the screen. Then, just as they do so, a scary picture pops onto the screen accompanied by some scary screaming, hence the name: screamers. These then scare and humiliate the person who has been staring at the screen.

Now, some people will just treat this as a simple and harmless practical joke. But, some of these "simple and harmless practical jokes" are used to damage the computer of the person they are sent to.

Screamers are a type of chain letter as well. Usually, after receiving this type of message, a person will send it to other people as well (if their computer's hard drive hasn't been screwed up by then).

Now, what is the reason that I'm ranting about this? Because I was watching a couple of videos today on Youtube and both had screamers at the end. Now, I sincerely and truthfully wasn't scared by them, but they really surprised me and freaked me out. Now, I can't seem to brush them off.

But, just to give anyone who reads this a warning, hear this. If you ever get an email that requests you to stare at a picture for a little while or find out what's wrong with it or something like that, know that it is most likely a screamer. In videos, sometimes, similar things happen, like the person asks you to figure out something with a picture that they put on the screen. But, it's probably a little harder to figure it out with videos.

I know I must sound pathetic right now, but I have been really annoyed and freaked out and I need to let out my feelings somehow. Please, bare with me.

*sigh* I'm bored with my life...

Well, my day sucked. I wake up in the morning with nothing particular in mind. I just want to spend the day working on my summer english homework and just rest for a little while. But of course, it's probably inevitable (and maybe even my hitsuzen) to never have anything go as I plan.

My mom tells me we need to go to the doctor because apparently she has an appointment. So, my uncle drives us over there (in our car) and then my aunt takes him home. Then, we're waiting in this so-called clinic for an hour and a half. Thankfully, I took a couple books with me to read so that I wouldn't be bored out of my mind. But then, and I'm not sure if everyone has heard, the earthquake happens.

Everyone there is so panicky and they all jump up to get outside and it just so happens that my little seven-year-old sister is giggling because for some strange and unknown reason she finds the renching movement of tectonic plates hilarious. *sigh* I have nothing to do but go back inside and continue reading.

In the time that we spent there, it took forever for the doctor to come in and examine my mom. While we wait, my best friend calls (and by the way, she's not moving to Egypt after all! Yes!) and is excited that the face of the earth has moved. Well, actually, she was just calling to see if I was alright, but I sensed something from her voice.

And then, finally the doctor came in, checked up my mom, and then we went home.

The rest of the day I don't feel like talking about, mainly because I see no point.

Yu-Gotta-Go
Avg Score: 9.20    Total Ratings: 30    Total Reviews: 6
If I could make this review short I'd say, "I hate this episode." But, here's my reasons, detailed. First of all, Yu-Gi-Oh (pronounced yuu-gi-ou)in Japanese means game king.
Making up the name Yu-gotta-go (a lame pun of you gotta go)is sort of insulting to the Japanese language. Second, I've heard it also reflects a bit of Pokemon in it. I like Pokemon, so I'm ashamed to hear that. Third, Chuckie gets so obsessed with the game wanting the "Red Mirror Dragon" an obvious rip-off of...I don't know what the heck they were trying to parody! But, are they trying to give kids the message that obsessing over a card game like Seto Kaiba is okay? So, to this episode, and even this show, I say, "Mind Crush!" And another thing! The card game itself is not called Yu-Gi-Oh!. The name of the game is Duel Monsters. That was just confusion caused by the company that released the cards. So that just annoys me more when Chuckie says, "I gotta get more Yu-gotta-go cards!" I call it Duel Monsters 'cause that's the name given in the anime and manga. I don't know what they would've called it if not the name of the actual show, but whatever. I don't care. And another thing! They don't just throw a card in the air and the monster/magic/trap comes out. They use duel disks and arenas. Throwing a card in the air is from Cardcaptors/CardcaptorSakura. Oh god, they're parodying that too!

Three's Company
Avg Score: 8.95    Total Ratings: 1113    Total Reviews: 83
I have to say as a child I really loved Three's Company , as an adult I still enjoy watching the dvds over and over again.... My favorite episode was Grandma Tripper, John Ritter as a woman was too hard to imagine but with great creators they made it possible to see him that way..... John Ritter will always be close to my heart. He was a comedic genius ... Tripperism 101 will always live on far as I'm concerned ........ The cast of Three's Company will continue to entertain generations to come. I'm 29 years old and I just can't get enough of the cast and the show .... Come on knock on our door we've been waiting for you , where the kisses are hers, and hers, and his. Threes's Company too... (written by KitKat, SailorB's cousin) (grammatically edited by SeraB-chan)

Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon: Live Action

I feel this episode in a very touching way. Usagi seemed really determined to get her back, and succeeded. But she had to pay a price. Personally, I feel the way that Ami dramatically screams at the end shows how guilty she is. She goes from happy she is for finally beating Sailor Moon to pain, remorse, and guilt for what she has done to her first and best friend. But, the way she acts that she can't really forgive herself is a little too overdone. She needs to realize it was not her fault. It was that jerk, Kunzite's. He captured her at a time when she was slightly vulnerable, a coward's act in my opinion.

Disney Channel Games
Avg Score: 8.40    Total Ratings: 240    Total Reviews: 48
This show is one of my faves. I guess it's not as much a show as a mini-series, but my point is received, right?

It's fun seeing familiar faces and new faces from around the world (DCG 2007). And their little acts between games are quite hilarious. I also think that it allows people to learn things about their favorite stars. But, what I believe the Disney Channel Games influence most is to get up, go out there and play, which is an important thing these days. The youth of today is not getting enough exercise and fitness. So, seeing their favorite stars getting out there and playing may influence them to do that themselves.

I have recently found out about this episode and I was shocked about it. Because of its banning I never watched it and only found out about it the day before.

I will have to say this: What were they thinking?!? Strobe lights flashing really fast? If this is a kids show then why something like that? Kids get close to the TV sometimes and really don't care how bright the light in the room is if they are gonna watch something they like on TV. I still have to say, this episode sounds popular and exciting but, don't watch this unless it's the edited version.(which has the lights flashing a little slower, and luckily it's the only version available)

(still, I recomend wearing something to shield your eyes if you wanna take the risk, or just skip over the flashy parts)
